Exode 30
1 "Tu feras aussi un autel pour la combustion des parfums; c’est en bois de chittîm que tu le feras.
“You are also to make an altar of acacia wood for the burning of incense.
2 Une coudée sera sa longueur, une coudée sa largeur, il sera carré, et deux coudées sa hauteur; ses cornes feront corps avec lui.
It is to be square, a cubit long, a cubit wide, and two cubits high. Its horns must be of one piece.
3 Tu le recouvriras d’or pur, savoir: sa plateforme, ses parois tout autour et ses cornes; et tu l’entoureras d’une bordure d’or.
Overlay with pure gold the top and all the sides and horns, and make a molding of gold around it.
4 Tu y adapteras deux anneaux d’or au-dessous de la bordure, à ses deux parois, les plaçant de part et d’autre: ils donneront passage à des barres qui serviront à le porter.
And make two gold rings below the molding on opposite sides to hold the poles used to carry it.
5 Tu feras ces barres de bois de chittîm et tu les recouvriras d’or.
Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.
6 Tu placeras cet autel devant le voile qui abrite l’arche du Statut, en face du propitiatoire qui couvre ce Statut et où je communiquerai avec toi.
Place the altar in front of the veil that is before the ark of the Testimony —before the mercy seat that is over the Testimony—where I will meet with you.
7 C’Est sur cet autel qu’Aaron fera l’encensement aromatique. Chaque matin, lorsqu’il accommodera les lampes, il fera cet encensement,
And Aaron is to burn fragrant incense on it every morning when he tends the lamps.
8 et lorsque Aaron allumera les lampes vers le soir, il le fera encore: encensement quotidien devant l’Éternel, dans toutes vos générations.
When Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he must burn the incense perpetually before the LORD for the generations to come.
9 Vous n’y offrirez point un parfum profané, ni holocauste ni oblation et vous n’y répandrez aucune libation.
On this altar you must not offer unauthorized incense or a burnt offering or grain offering; nor are you to pour a drink offering on it.
10 Aaron en purifiera les cornes une fois l’année; c’est avec le sang des victimes expiatoires, une seule fois l’année, qu’on le purifiera dans vos générations. Il sera éminemment saint devant l’Éternel."
Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on the horns of the altar. Throughout your generations he shall make atonement on it annually with the blood of the sin offering of atonement. The altar is most holy to the LORD.”
11 L’Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
Then the LORD said to Moses,
12 "Quand tu feras le dénombrement général des enfants d’Israël, chacun d’eux paiera au Seigneur le rachat de sa personne lors du dénombrement, afin qu’il n’y ait point de mortalité parmi eux à cause de cette opération.
“When you take a census of the Israelites to number them, each man must pay the LORD a ransom for his life when he is counted. Then no plague will come upon them when they are numbered.
13 Ce tribut, présenté par tous ceux qui seront compris dans le dénombrement, sera d’un demi-sicle, selon le poids du sanctuaire; ce dernier est de vingt ghéra, la moitié sera l’offrande réservée au Seigneur.
Everyone who crosses over to those counted must pay a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD.
14 Quiconque fera partie du dénombrement depuis l’âge de vingt ans et au-delà doit acquitter l’impôt de l’Éternel.
Everyone twenty years of age or older who crosses over must give this offering to the LORD.
15 Le riche ne donnera pas plus, le pauvre ne donnera pas moins que la moitié du sicle, pour acquitter l’impôt de l’Éternel, à l’effet de racheter vos personnes.
In making the offering to the LORD to atone for your lives, the rich shall not give more than a half shekel, nor shall the poor give less.
16 Tu recevras des enfants d’Israël le produit de cette rançon et tu l’appliqueras au service de la Tente d’assignation et il servira de recommandation aux enfants d’Israël devant le Seigneur pour qu’il épargne vos personnes."
Take the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the Tent of Meeting. It will serve as a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD to make atonement for your lives.”
17 L’Éternel parla ainsi à Moïse:
And the LORD said to Moses,
18 "Tu feras une cuve de cuivre, avec son support en cuivre, pour les ablutions; tu la placeras entre la Tente d’assignation et l’autel et tu y mettras de l’eau.
“You are to make a bronze basin with a bronze stand for washing. Set it between the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and put water in it,
19 Aaron et ses fils y laveront leurs mains et leurs pieds.
with which Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet.
20 Pour entrer dans la Tente d’assignation, ils devront se laver de cette eau, afin de ne pas mourir; de même, lorsqu’ils approcheront de l’autel pour leurs fonctions, pour la combustion d’un sacrifice en l’honneur de l’Éternel,
Whenever they enter the Tent of Meeting or approach the altar to minister by presenting an offering made by fire to the LORD, they must wash with water so that they will not die.
21 ils se laveront les mains et les pieds, pour ne pas mourir. Ce sera une règle constante pour lui et pour sa postérité, dans toutes leurs générations."
Thus they are to wash their hands and feet so that they will not die; this shall be a permanent statute for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.”
22 L’Éternel parla ainsi à Moïse:
Then the LORD said to Moses,
23 "Tu prendras aussi des aromates de premier choix: myrrhe franche, cinq cents sicles; cinnamone odorant, la moitié, soit deux cent cinquante; jonc aromatique, deux cent cinquante,
“Take the finest spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half that amount (250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant cane,
24 enfin casse, cinq cents sicles au poids du sanctuaire; puis de l’huile d’olive, un hîn.
500 shekels of cassia —all according to the sanctuary shekel—and a hin of olive oil.
25 Tu en composeras une huile pour l’onction sainte, manipulant ces aromates à l’instar du parfumeur: ce sera l’huile de l’onction sainte.
Prepare from these a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer; it will be a sacred anointing oil.
26 Tu en oindras la Tente d’assignation, puis l’arche du Statut;
Use this oil to anoint the Tent of Meeting, the ark of the Testimony,
27 la table avec tous ses accessoires, le candélabre avec les siens; l’autel du parfum;
the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and its utensils, the altar of incense,
28 l’autel aux holocaustes avec tous ses ustensiles et la cuve avec son support.
the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand.
29 Tu les sanctifieras ainsi et ils deviendront éminemment saints: tout ce qui y touchera deviendra saint.
You are to consecrate them so that they will be most holy. Whatever touches them shall be holy.
30 Tu en oindras aussi Aaron et ses fils et tu les consacreras à mon ministère.
Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them to serve Me as priests.
31 Quant aux enfants d’Israël, tu leur parleras ainsi: Ceci sera l’huile d’onction sainte, en mon honneur, dans vos générations.
And you are to tell the Israelites, ‘This will be My sacred anointing oil for the generations to come.
32 Elle ne doit point couler sur le corps du premier venu et vous n’en composerez point une pareille, dans les mêmes proportions: c’est une chose sainte, elle doit être sacrée pour vous.
It must not be used to anoint an ordinary man, and you must not make anything like it with the same formula. It is holy, and it must be holy to you.
33 Celui qui en imitera la composition, ou qui en appliquera sur un profane, sera retranché de son peuple."
Anyone who mixes perfume like it or puts it on an outsider shall be cut off from his people.’”
34 L’Éternel dit à Moïse: "Choisis des ingrédients: du storax, de l’ongle aromatique, du galbanum, divers ingrédients et de l’encens pur; le tout à poids égal.
The LORD also said to Moses, “Take fragrant spices—gum resin, onycha, galbanum, and pure frankincense—in equal measures,
35 Tu en composeras un parfum, manipulé selon l’art du parfumeur; mixtionné, ce sera une chose pure et sainte.
and make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer, seasoned with salt, pure and holy.
36 Tu le réduiras en poudre fine et tu en poseras devant le Statut, dans la Tente d’assignation, où je communiquerai avec toi; ce sera pour vous une chose éminemment sainte.
Grind some of it into fine powder and place it in front of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you.
37 Ce parfum que tu composeras, vous n’en ferez point un semblable pour votre usage: ce sera pour toi une chose sacrée, réservée au Seigneur.
You are never to use this formula to make incense for yourselves; you shall regard it as holy to the LORD.
38 Quiconque en fera un pareil pour en aspirer l’odeur, sera retranché de son peuple."
Anyone who makes something like it to enjoy its fragrance shall be cut off from his people.”
