2 Samuel 5

1 Toutes les tribus d’Israël vinrent auprès de David, à Hébron, et lui dirent: "Nous sommes ta chair et ton sang.

Then came all the tribes of Israel to Dauid vnto Hebron, and said thus, Beholde, we are thy bones and thy flesh.

2 Déjà hier, déjà avant-hier, alors que Saül était notre roi, c’est toi qui dirigeais toutes les expéditions d’Israël. C’Est toi, avait dit l’Eternel, qui gouverneras Israël, mon peuple, toi qui seras son chef…"

And in time past when Saul was our King, thou leddest Israel in and out: and the Lord hath sayde to thee, Thou shalt feede my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captaine ouer Israel.

3 Tous les anciens d’Israël vinrent donc trouver le roi, à Hébron; le roi David fit un pacte avec eux à Hébron, devant l’Eternel, et ils le sacrèrent comme roi d’Israël.

So all the Elders of Israel came to the King to Hebron: and King Dauid made a couenant with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anoynted Dauid King ouer Israel.

4 David avait trente ans lorsqu’il devint roi; son règne fut de quarante ans.

Dauid was thirtie yeere olde when he began to reigne: and hee reigned fortie yeere.

5 Il régna dans Hébron, sur Juda, sept ans et six mois, et dans Jérusalem il régna trentre-trois ans sur tout Israël et Juda.

In Hebron hee reigned ouer Iudah seuen yeere, and sixe moneths: and in Ierusalem hee reigned thirtie and three yeeres ouer all Israel and Iudah.

6 Le roi, avec ses hommes, marcha sur Jérusalem contre les Jébuséens, qui occupaient le pays; mais ceux-ci dirent à David: "Tu n’entreras pas ici que tu n’aies délogé les aveugles et les boiteux," voulant dire que David n’y entrerait point.

The King also and his men went to Ierusalem vnto the Iebusites, the inhabitants of the land: who spake vnto Dauid, saying, Except thou take away the blinde and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking that Dauid coulde not come thither.

7 Mais David s’empara de la forteresse de Sion, qui est la Cité de David.

But Dauid tooke the fort of Zion: this is the citie of Dauid.

8 Ce même jour, David avait dit: "Celui qui veut battre les Jébuséens doit pénétrer jusqu’au faîte, jusqu’aux boiteux et aux aveugles", devenus odieux à David. C’Est pourquoi on a dit: "Aveugle ni boiteux ne doivent entrer dans la maison."

Nowe Dauid had sayd the same day, Whosoeuer smiteth the Iebusites, and getteth vp to the gutters and smiteth the lame and blinde, which Dauids soule hateth, I will preferre him: therefore they saide, The blinde and the lame shall not come into that house.

9 David s’établit dans la forteresse, qu’il nomma la Cité de David, et ajouta des constructions tout autour, à l’intérieur du Millo:

So Dauid dwelt in that forte, and called it the citie of Dauid, and Dauid built rounde about it, from Millo, and inward.

10 David alla grandissant de plus, en plus, assisté par l’Eternel, Dieu-Cebaot.

And Dauid prospered and grewe: for the Lord God of hostes was with him.

11 Hiram, roi de Tyr, envoya une députation à David avec du bois de cèdre, des charpentiers et des maçons, qui bâtirent une maison pour David.

Hiram also king of Tyrus sent messengers to Dauid, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons for walles: and they built Dauid an house.

12 Et David reconnut que le Seigneur l’avait destiné à régner sur Israël, et lui avait accordé une royauté glorieuse en faveur de son peuple Israël.

Then Dauid knewe that the Lord had stablished him King ouer Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdome for his people Israels sake.

13 David prit encore des concubines et des épouses dans Jérusalem, après son départ d’Hébron, et il lui naquit encore des fils et des filles.

And Dauid tooke him more concubines and wiues out of Ierusalem, after hee was come from Hebron, and more sonnes and daughters were borne to Dauid.

14 Voici les noms de ceux qui lui naquirent à Jérusalem: Chammoua, Chobab, Nathan et Salomon;

And these bee the names of the sonnes that were borne vnto him in Ierusale: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Salomon,

15 Yibhar, Elichoua, Néfeg et Yafia;

And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Iaphia,

16 Elichama, Elyada et Elifélet.

And Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.

17 Les Philistins, ayant su que David avait été oint comme roi d’Israël, montèrent tous pour chercher à le prendre; David l’apprit et se rendit à la forteresse.

But when the Philistims hearde that they had anoynted Dauid King ouer Israel, all the Philistims came vp to seeke Dauid: and when Dauid heard, he went downe to a fort.

18 Les Philistins étaient arrivés et s’étaient déployés dans la vallée de Refaïm.

But the Philistims came, and spred themselues in the valley of Rephaim.

19 Alors David consulta le Seigneur en disant: "Dois-je monter vers les Philistins? Les livreras-tu en ma main?" Le Seigneur répondit à David: "Monte! Oui, je livrerai les Philistins en ta main."

Then Dauid asked counsel of the Lord, saying, Shall I goe vp to the Philistims? wilt thou deliuer them into mine handes? And the Lord answered Dauid, Goe vp: for I will doubtlesse deliuer the Philistims into thine handes.

20 David atteignit Baal-Peraçim et les y battit. Et il dit: "Le Seigneur a dispersé mes ennemis devant moi comme une eau débordée." C’Est de là que cet endroit fut nommé Baal-Peraçim.

Then Dauid came to Baal-perazim, and smote them there, and sayde, The Lord hath deuided mine enemies asunder before mee, as waters be deuided asunder: therefore he called the name of that place, Baal-perazim.

21 Ils laissèrent là leurs idoles, qui furent emportées par David et ses hommes.

And there they left their images, and Dauid and his men burnt them.

22 Mais de nouveau les Philistins y montèrent et se déployèrent dans la vallée de Refaïm.

Againe the Philistims came vp, and spred themselues in the valley of Rephaim.

23 David consulta le Seigneur, qui répondit: "Ne monte pas; tourne-les par derrière et marche sur eux du côté des bekhaïm.

And when Dauid asked counsell of the Lord, hee answered, Thou shalt not goe vp, but turne about behinde them, and come vpon them ouer against the mulberie trees.

24 Or, lorsque tu entendras un bruit de pas sur les cimes des bekhaïm, mets-toi vite en mouvement, car alors le Seigneur sera venu à ton secours pour que tu battes l’armée des Philistins."

And when thou hearest the noyse of one going in the toppes of the mulberie trees, then remoue: for then shall the Lord goe out before thee, to smite the hoste of the Philistims.

25 David se conforma aux instructions du Seigneur, et il battit les Philistins depuis Ghéba jusque vers Ghézer.

Then Dauid did so as the Lord had commanded him, and smote the Philistims from Geba, vntil thou come to Gazer.
