2 Rois 16

1 La dix-septième année de Pékah, fils de Remaliahou, Achaz, fils de Jotham, monta sur le trône de Juda.

In year seven-teen year of Pekah [the] son of Remaliah he became king Ahaz [the] son of Jotham [the] king of Judah.

2 Achaz avait vingt ans à son avènement, et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem; il ne fit pas ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Eternel, son Dieu, comme l’avait fait David, son aïeul.

[was] a son of Twenty year[s] Ahaz when became king he and six-teen year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and not he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh God his like David ancestor his.

3 Au contraire, il suivit l’exemple des rois d’Israël. Il fit même passer son fils par le feu, imitant les abominations des peuples que Dieu avait dépossédés au profit des enfants d’Israël.

And he walked in [the] way of [the] kings of Israel and also son his he made pass in the fire according to [the] abominations of the nations which he had dispossessed Yahweh them from before [the] people of Israel.

4 Il offrit des sacrifices et de l’encens sur les hauts-lieux et les collines et sous tous les arbres verdoyants.

And he sacrificed and he made smoke at the high places and on the hills and under every tree luxuriant.

5 C’Est alors que vinrent l’attaquer à Jérusalem Recîn, roi de Syrie, et Pékah, fils de Remaliahou, roi d’Israël; ils assiégèrent Achaz, mais ne purent le combattre victorieusement.

Then he came up Rezin [the] king of Aram and Pekah [the] son of Remaliah [the] king of Israel Jerusalem for battle and they laid siege on Ahaz and not they were able to do battle.

6 Vers ce temps, Recîn, roi de Syrie, restitua Elat à la Syrie et expulsa de cette ville les Judéens. Les Syriens revinrent à Elat, qu’ils occupent encore aujourd’hui.

At the time that he restored Rezin [the] king of Aram Elath to Aram and he cleared out the Jews from Elath (and Edomites *Q(K)*) they came Elath and they have dwelt there until the day this.

7 Alors Achaz envoya des ambassadeurs à Tiglat-Pilésser, roi d’Assyrie, pour lui dire "Je suis ton serviteur et ton fils. Viens et sauve-moi des mains du roi de Syrie et du roi d’Israël qui m’ont attaqué."

And he sent Ahaz messengers to Tiglath-pileser [the] king of Assyria saying [am] servant your and son your I come up and deliver me from [the] hand of [the] king of Aram and from [the] hand of [the] king of Israel who are rising up on me.

8 Achaz prit l’argent et l’or qui se trouvaient dans le temple de l’Eternel et dans les trésors du palais royal et les envoya en présent au roi d’Assyrie.

And he took Ahaz the silver and the gold which was found [the] house of Yahweh and in [the] treasuries of [the] house of the king and he sent [it] to [the] king of Assyria a gift.

9 Celui-ci, cédant à sa prière, attaqua Damas, s’en rendit maître et en déporta les habitants à Kir; quant à Recîn, il le fit mettre à mort.

And he listened to him [the] king of Assyria and he came up [the] king of Assyria to Damascus and he seized it and he took into exile it Kir towards and Rezin he put to death.

10 Le roi Achaz alla alors à la rencontre de Tiglat-Pilésser, à Damas. Ayant remarqué l’autel de cette ville, il fit parvenir à Ouria, le pontife, le dessin et le plan de l’autel dans tous ses détails.

And he went the king Ahaz to meet Tiglath-pileser [the] king of Assyria Damascus and he saw the altar which [was] in Damascus and he sent the king Ahaz to Uriah the priest [the] likeness of the altar and pattern its for all work its.

11 Ourla, le pontife, construisit un autel semblable et l’exécuta tout à fait selon le modèle que le roi Achaz lui avait expédié de Damas, avant même le retour d’Achaz de cette ville.

And he built Uriah the priest the altar according to all that he had sent the king Ahaz from Damascus so he did Uriah the priest until came the king Ahaz from Damascus.

12 Revenu de Damas, le roi vit l’autel; il s’en approcha et y monta.

And he came the king from Damascus and he saw the king the altar and he drew near the king to the altar and he offered up on it.

13 Il y fit consumer son holocauste et son oblation, y répandit des libations, et aspergea l’autel du sang de ses rémunératoires.

And he made smoke burnt offering his and grain offering his and he poured out drink offering his and he sprinkled [the] blood of the peace offerings which [belonged] to him on the altar.

14 Quant à l’autel d’airain qui était devant l’Eternel, il le déplaça de devant le temple, où il se trouvait établi entre le nouvel autel et le temple de l’Eternel, et il l’érigea à l’angle nord de cet autel.

And the altar of bronze which [was] before Yahweh and he brought near from with [the] face of the house from between the altar and from between [the] house of Yahweh and he put it on [the] side of the altar north-ward.

15 Le roi Achaz fit cette recommandation au pontife Ouria: "Sur le grand autel fais fumer l’holocauste du matin, l’oblation du soir, l’holocauste et l’oblation du roi, et l’holocauste ainsi que l’oblation de tout le peuple, fais-y leurs libations et asperge-le de tout le sang de l’holocauste et de tout le sang des sacrifices. Pour ce qui est de l’autel d’airain, j’y réfléchirai."

(And he commanded *Q(K)*) the king Ahaz Uriah the priest saying on the altar great make smoke [the] burnt offering of the morning and [the] grain offering of the evening and [the] burnt offering of the king and grain offering his and [the] burnt offering of all [the] people of the land and grain offering their and drink offerings their and all [the] blood of [the] burnt offering and all [the] blood of [the] sacrifice on it you will sprinkle and [the] altar of bronze it will belong to me to consult.

16 Le pontife Ouria exécuta tous les ordres du roi Achaz.

And he did Uriah the priest according to all that he commanded the king Ahaz.

17 Le roi Achaz détacha les moulures des supports, en enleva le bassin, fit descendre la Mer de dessus les taureaux d’airain qui la portaient et la déposa sur un pavé de pierres.

And he cut off the king Ahaz the rims of the stands and he removed from on them (*Q(K)*) the laver and the sea he took down from on the ox[en] the bronze which [were] under it and he put it on a pavement of stone.

18 Le portique du sabbat qu’on avait bâti dans le temple et l’entrée du roi située à l’extérieur, il les déplaça dans le temple de l’Eternel, à cause du roi d’Assyrie.

And ([the] covered structure of *Q(K)*) the sabbath which people had built in the house and [the] entrance of the king outer he removed [the] house of Yahweh because of [the] king of Assyria.

19 Les autres actes accomplis par Achaz sont consignés dans le livre des annales des rois de Juda.

And [the] rest of [the] matters of Ahaz which he did ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Judah.

20 Achaz s’endormit avec ses pères et fut enterré à côté d’eux dans la Cité de David. Son fils Ezéchias lui succéda.

And he lay down Ahaz with ancestors his and he was buried with ancestors his in [the] city of David and he became king Hezekiah son his in place of him.
