2 Rois 14
1 Dans la deuxième année du règne de Joas, fils de Joachaz, roi d’Israël, Amacia, fils de Joas, devint roi de Juda.
In year two of Joash [the] son of Jehoahaz [the] king of Israel he became king Amaziah [the] son of Joash [the] king of Judah.
2 Agé de vingt-cinq ans lors de son avènement, il régna vingt-neuf ans à Jérusalem. Le nom de sa mère était Yehoaddân, de Jérusalem.
A son of twenty and five year[s] he was when became king he and twenty and nine year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his ([was] Jehoaddan *Q(K)*) from Jerusalem.
3 Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Eternel, non à la vérité autant que son aïeul David, mais il suivit en tout l’exemple de Joas, son père.
And he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh only not like David ancestor his according to all that he had done Joash father his he did.
4 Néanmoins, les hauts-lieux ne disparurent pas: le peuple continua d’offrir des sacrifices et de l’encens sur les hauts-lieux.
Only the high places not they were removed still the people [were] sacrificing and [were] making smoke at the high places.
5 Lorsque la royauté se trouva consolidée entre ses mains, il frappa ses serviteurs qui avaient assassiné le roi son père.
And it was just when it was secure the kingdom in hand his and he struck down servants his who had struck down the king father his.
6 Mais il ne fit point périr les enfants des meurtriers, suivant en cela ce qui est écrit dans le livre de la Loi de Moïse, promulguée par l’Eternel: "Les parents ne seront pas mis à mort à cause des enfants, ni les enfants à cause des parents; mais chacun subira la mort pour son seul méfait."
And [the] sons of those [who] had struck down not he put to death according to [what] is written in [the] book of [the] law of Moses which he commanded Yahweh saying not they will be put to death fathers on sons and sons not they will be put to death on fathers that except each for own sin his (he will be put to death. *Q(K)*)
7 Le même Amacia tua à Edom, dans la vallée du Sel, dix mille hommes et conquit Séla par la guerre. Il donna à cette ville le nom de Yokteël, qu’elle porte encore aujourd’hui.
He he struck down Edom in [the] Valley of (Salt *Q(K)*) ten thousand and he seized Sela in battle and he called name its Joktheel until the day this.
8 Ensuite Amacia envoya des messagers à Joas, fils de Joachaz, fils de Jéhu, lui faisant dire: "Allons nous mesurer ensemble!"
Then he sent Amaziah messengers to Jehoash [the] son of Jehoahaz [the] son of Jehu [the] king of Israel saying come! let us look at one another faces.
9 Joas, roi d’Israël, adressa à son tour ce message à Amacia, roi de Juda: "Le buisson sur le Liban fit dire au cèdre dix Liban: Accorde ta fille comme épouse à mon fils. Mais une bête sauvage du Liban vint à passer et écrasa le buisson.
And he sent Jehoash [the] king of Israel to Amaziah [the] king of Judah saying thornbush which [was] in Lebanon it sent to cedar which [was] in Lebanon saying give! daughter your to son my to a wife and it passed by [the] animal of the field which [was] in Lebanon and it trampled the thornbush.
10 A la vérité, tu as battu Edom et ton cœur s’est gonflé. Garde ton honneur et reste à la maison. Pourquoi courir au-devant d’un désastre et t’exposer à tomber, toi et Juda avec toi?"
Certainly you have struck down Edom and it has lifted you heart your be honored and remain at home your and why? will you engage in strife with harm and you will fall you and Judah with you.
11 Mais Amacia ne voulut rien entendre. Alors Joas, roi d’Israël, monta, et ils en vinrent aux mains, lui et Amacia, roi de Juda, à Beth-Chémech, sur le territoire de Juda.
And not he listened Amaziah and he went up Jehoash [the] king of Israel and they looked at one another faces he and Amaziah [the] king of Judah at Beth Shemesh which [belonged] to Judah.
12 Juda essuya une défaite devant Israël, et ils s’enfuirent tous dans leurs tentes.
And it was defeated Judah before Israel and they fled everyone (to tents his. *Q(K)*)
13 Quant à Amacia, roi de Juda, fils de Joas, fils d’Achazia, Joas, roi d’Israël, le fit prisonnier à Beth-Chémech; ensuite, il se rendit à Jérusalem, dont il abattit le rempart, depuis la porte d’Ephraïm jusqu’à la porte de l’Angle, sur une longueur de quatre cents coudées.
And Amaziah [the] king of Judah [the] son of Jehoash [the] son of Ahaziah he seized Jehoash [the] king of Israel at Beth Shemesh (and he came *Q(K)*) Jerusalem and he made a breach in [the] wall of Jerusalem at [the] gate of Ephraim to [the] gate of the corner four hundred cubit[s].
14 Il enleva tout l’or et l’argent, et tous les vases qui se trouvaient dans la maison de Dieu et dans les trésors du palais royal ainsi que les otages, et s’en retourna à Samarie.
And he took all the gold and the silver and all the articles which were found [the] house of Yahweh and in [the] treasuries of [the] house of the king and [the] sons of the pledges and he returned Samaria towards.
15 Quant au surplus des faits accomplis par Joas, ses exploits et ses luttes avec Amacia, roi de Juda, ils sont consignés dans le livre des annales des rois d’Israël.
And [the] rest of [the] matters of Jehoash which he did and might his and which he waged war with Amaziah [the] king of Judah ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Israel.
16 Joas s’endormit avec ses aïeux et fut enterré à Samarie à côté des rois d’Israël. Jéroboam, son fils, lui succéda dans la royauté.
And he lay down Jehoash with ancestors his and he was buried in Samaria with [the] kings of Israel and he became king Jeroboam son his in place of him.
17 Après la mort de Joas, fils de Joachaz, roi d’Israël, Amacia, fils de Joas, roi de Juda, régna encore quinze ans.
And he lived Amaziah [the] son of Joash [the] king of Judah after [the] death of Jehoash [the] son of Jehoahaz [the] king of Israel fif-teen year[s].
18 Le reste des actes d’Amacia se trouve consigné dans le livre des annales des rois de Juda.
And [the] rest of [the] matters of Amaziah ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Judah.
19 On forma un complot contre lui à Jérusalem; il se réfugia à Lakhich. On envoya des gens à sa poursuite dans cette ville, et ils l’y mirent à mort.
And people conspired on him a conspiracy in Jerusalem and he fled Lachish towards and they sent after him Lachish towards and they put to death him there.
20 Puis on le transporta à dos de cheval, et il fut enseveli à Jérusalem, avec ses aïeux, dans la Cité de David.
And they carried him on horses and he was buried in Jerusalem with ancestors his in [the] city of David.
21 Tout le peuple de Juda prit Azaria, alors âgé de seize ans, et le proclama roi à la place de son père Amacia.
And they took all [the] people of Judah Azariah and he [was] a son of six-teen year[s] and they made king him in place of father his Amaziah.
22 Il rebâtit Elat et la restitua à Juda, après que le roi se fut endormi avec ses aïeux.
He he built Elath and he restored it to Judah after lay down the king with ancestors his.
23 La quinzième année d’Amacia, fils de Joas, roi de Juda, Jéroboam, fils de Joas, devint roi d’Israël à Samarie, où il régna quarante et un ans.
In year fif-teen year of Amaziah [the] son of Joash [the] king of Judah he became king Jeroboam [the] son of Joash [the] king of Israel in Samaria forty and one year[s].
24 Il fit le mal aux yeux de l’Eternel, et n’évita aucun des pêchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebat, qui avait égaré Israël.
And he did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh not he turned aside from all [the] sins of Jeroboam [the] son of Nebat which he caused to sin Israel.
25 Il rétablit la frontière d’Israël depuis les environs de Hamat jusqu’à la mer de la Plaine, accomplissant la parole de l’Eternel, Dieu d’Israël, énoncée par l’organe de son serviteur Jonas, fils d’Amittaï, le prophète originaire de Gath-Hahêfer.
He he restored [the] border of Israel from Lebo Hamath to [the] sea of the Arabah according to [the] word of Yahweh [the] God of Israel which he spoke by [the] hand of servant his Jonah [the] son of Amittai the prophet who [was] from Gath Hepher.
26 L’Eternel avait, en effet, vu la misère extrêmement cruelle d’Israël, son manque de ressources, grandes ou petites, sans personne pour lui prêter assistance.
For he saw Yahweh [the] affliction of Israel rebellious very and there not [was] shut up and there not [was] freed and there not [was] a helper for Israel.
27 Ne voulant pas effacer le nom d’Israël de dessous les cieux, l’Eternel leur porta secours par la main de Jéroboam, fils de Joas.
And not he had spoken Yahweh to wipe out [the] name of Israel from under the heavens and he delivered them by [the] hand of Jeroboam [the] son of Joash.
28 Le reste des actes de Jéroboam, tous les faits accomplis par lui, les victoires qu’il remporta et qui lui permirent de restituer à Israël Damas et Hamat, jadis possessions de Juda, tout cela est consigné dans le livre des annales des rois d’Israël.
And [the] rest of [the] matters of Jeroboam and all that he did and might his which he waged war and which he restored Damascus and Hamath to Judah in Israel ¿ not [are] they written on [the] scroll of [the] matters of the days of [the] kings of Israel.
29 Jéroboam s’endormit avec ses aïeux, les rois d’Israël, et son fils Zacharie lui succéda sur le trône.
And he lay down Jeroboam with ancestors his with [the] kings of Israel and he became king Zechariah son his in place of him.
