2 Chroniques 4
1 Il fit un autel de cuivre; vingt coudées furent sa longueur, vingt coudées sa largeur, et dix coudées sa hauteur.
And he made an altar of bronze, twenty cubits, the length thereof, and, twenty cubits, the breadth thereof, —and, ten cubits, the height thereof.
2 Puis, il jeta en fonte la Mer. Parfaitement circulaire, elle avait dix coudées d’un bord à l’autre, et cinq coudées de hauteur; une ligne de trente coudées en mesurait le tour.
And he made a molten sea, —ten—by the cubit, from the one brim thereof into the other brim thereof, it was round all about, and, five—by the cubit, was the height thereof, and, a line—of thirty by the cubit, did compass it round about.
3 Des images de coloquintes étaient disposées au-dessous du rebord, tout autour; au nombre de dix par coudées, elles couvraient la circonférence de la Mer; ces coloquintes, formant deux rangées, avaient été fondues du même jet que la Mer.
And, the likeness of oxen, was under it round about on every side, encircling it, ten in a cubit, going round the sea, on every side, -two rows of oxen, made in the casting.
4 Elle était supportée par douze bœufs, dont trois regardaient le nord, trois le couchant, trois le midi, et trois le levant; la Mer reposait sur eux, et leurs croupes à tous étaient tournées vers l’intérieur.
It was standing on twelve oxen, three, looking toward the north, and, three, looking toward the west, and, three, looking toward the south, and, three, looking toward the east, the sea, being upon them above, —and, all their hinder parts, inward.
5 Elle avait un palme d’épaisseur, et son rebord était travaillé en forme de calices de fleurs de lis. Sa capacité en bath était de trois mille.
And, the thickness thereof, was a hand-breadth, and, the brim thereof, was like the brim-work of a cup, with blossoms of lilies, —it could hold [many] baths, three thousand, would it contain.
6 Il fit des bassins au nombre de dix, dont il plaça cinq à droite et cinq à gauche, pour y faire des ablutions; on devait y laver l’attirail des holocaustes. La Mer était destinée aux ablutions des prêtres.
And he made ten lavers, and set five on the right hand—and five on the left, to bathe therein, what is offered as an ascending-sacrifice, do they rinse therein, —but, the sea, was, that the priests should bathe therein.
7 Il fit les dix chandeliers d’or, selon les formes prescrites, et il les plaça dans le sanctuaire, cinq à droite et cinq à gauche.
And he made ten lampstands of gold according to the regulation thereof, —and set in the temple, five, on the right hand, and, five, on the left.
8 Il fit dix tables, qu’il disposa dans le sanctuaire, cinq à droite et cinq à gauche; il fit aussi cent bassins d’aspersion en or.
And he made ten tables, and placed in the temple, five, on the right hand, and, five, on the left, —and he made a hundred tossing bowls of gold.
9 Il fit la cour des prêtres et le grand parvis, ainsi que des portes pour le parvis; ces portes, il les recouvrit de cuivre.
And he made the court of the priests, and the large enclosure, —and doors to the enclosure, and, the doors thereof, overlaid he with bronze.
10 Il plaça la Mer sur le côté droit, vers le sud-est.
And, the sea, he set on the right side of the house, eastward over against the south.
11 Houram fabriqua les cendriers, les pelles, les bassins d’aspersion, et termina tous les travaux qu’il avait entrepris pour le roi Salomon concernant le temple de Dieu;
And Huram made—the pans, and the shovels, and the tossing bowls, —and Huram finished doing the work, which he did for King Solomon, in the house of God: —
12 les deux colonnes, avec les deux chapiteaux arrondis qui les surmontaient, et les deux entrelacs pour envelopper chacun de ces chapiteaux arrondis, placés au sommet des colonnes,
two pillars, and the bowls and the capitals on the top of the two pillars, and the two frames of checker work, to cover the two bowls of the capitals, which were on the top of the pillars;
13 les quatre cents grenades pour ces deux entrelacs, deux rangs de grenades pour chaque entrelacs, qui enveloppaient les deux chapiteaux arrondis des colonnes,
and four hundred pomegranates, for the two frames, -two rows of pomegranates, for each frame, for covering the two bowls of the capitals, which were on the face of the pillars;
14 les dix supports et les dix bassins qu’ils soutenaient,
and, the stands, made he, —and, the lavers, made he upon the stands;
15 la Mer unique, avec les dix bœufs qui la supportaient,
the one sea, —and the twelve oxen under it;
16 les cendriers, les pelles, les fourchettes. Tous ces objets, fabriqués par Maître Houram pour le roi Salomon en vue de la maison du Seigneur, étaient en cuivre poli.
and, the pans and the shovels and the flesh-hooks, and all the vessels, made Huram his father for King Solomon, for the house of Yahweh, —of burnished bronze,
17 C’Est dans la plaine du Jourdain, entre Souccot et Cerêda, que le roi les fit fondre dans une terre grasse.
In the circuit of the Jordan, did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredah.
18 Salomon fit confectionner tous ces objets en très grande quantité, car le poids du cuivre était illimité.
So Solomon made all these utensils, in great abundance, —for the weight of the bronze could not be searched out.
19 Il fit encore confectionner le reste des objets destinés à la maison du Seigneur, l’autel d’or, les tables pour les pains de proposition,
Yea Solomon made all the utensils which were for the house of God, —and the altar of gold, and the tables, whereon was the Presence-bread;
20 les candélabres d’or fin, dont les lampes devaient être allumées, suivant la règle, devant le debir,
and the lamp-holders and their lamps, that they should burn according to the regulation before the shrine, of purified gold;
21 avec leurs fleurons, leurs lampes et leurs mouchettes en or, et de l’or le plus parfait;
and the blossom-work, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold, —the same, was the purest gold;
22 les couteaux, les bassins, les cuillers, les encensoirs en or fin. Quant aux portes du temple, les battants de la porte intérieure donnant accès au Saint des Saints, et les battants de l’enceinte du hêkhal étaient en or.
and the snuffers and the bowls and the spoons and the censers, of purified gold, —and the entrance of the house, the inner doors thereof for the holy of holies, and the doors of the house of the temple, were of gold.
