2 Chroniques 3
1 Salomon commença à bâtir la maison du Seigneur à Jérusalem, sur le mont Moria; là, le Seigneur était apparu à son père David, qui avait fixé son choix sur l’emplacement lui appartenant dans l’aire d’Ornan, le Jébuséen.
And he began Solomon to build [the] house of Yahweh in Jerusalem on [the] mountain of Moriah where he had appeared to David father his which he had prepared in [the] place of David on [the] threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 Il commença la construction le deuxième jour du deuxième mois, dans la quatrième année de son règne.
And he began to build in the month second on the second [day] in year four of reign his.
3 Voici les dimensions adoptées par Salomon comme base de la construction de la maison de Dieu: la longueur, en coudées de l’ancienne mesure, était de soixante coudées, la largeur de vingt coudées.
And these [are] [the] founding of Solomon to build [the] house of God the length cubits by the measurement former [was] cubits sixty and [the] breadth [was] cubits twenty.
4 Le portique (qui s’étendait dans le sens de la longueur) avait vingt coudées dans le sens de la largeur de l’édifice; la hauteur en était de cent vingt. Salomon en revêtit l’intérieur d’or pur.
And the porch which [was] on [the] face of the length on [the] face of [the] breadth of the house [was] cubits twenty and the height [was] one hundred and twenty and he overlaid it from within gold pure.
5 La grande enceinte, il la recouvrit de bois de cyprès, auxquels il ajouta un revêtement d’or fin; et il y sculpta des palmes et des festons.
And - the house great he overlaid wood of cypresses and he overlaid it gold fine and he put up on it palm trees and chains.
6 Il garnit l’intérieur de l’édifice de pierres précieuses comme ornement; l’or employé était de l’or de Parvaïm.
And he overlaid the house stone[s] precious for beauty and the gold [was] [the] gold of Parvaim.
7 Il recouvrit d’or l’édifice, poutres, seuils, parois et battants des portes, et il tailla dans les murs des figures de chérubins.
And he overlaid the house the beams the thresholds and walls its and doors its gold and he engraved cherubim on the walls.
8 Il fit l’enceinte du Saint des Saints, dont la longueur, prise dans le sens de la largeur de l’édifice, était de vingt coudées, la largeur également de vingt coudées. Il la revêtit d’or fin, équivalant à six cents kikkar.
And he made [the] house of [the] holy place of the holy places length its on [the] face of [the] breadth of the house [was] cubits twenty and breadth its [was] cubits twenty and he overlaid it gold fine to talents six hundred.
9 Le poids de l’or pour les clous fut de cinquante sicles. Il revêtit aussi d’or les chambres hautes.
And [the] weight of nails to shekels fifty gold and the upper rooms he overlaid gold.
10 Il fit dans l’enceinte du Saint des Saints deux chérubins, artistement sculptés, qu’on recouvrit d’or.
And he made in [the] house of [the] holy place of the holy places cherubim two a work of castings and they overlaid them gold.
11 Les ailes des chérubins avaient une longueur (totale) de vingt coudées; l’aile d’un chérubin, longue de cinq coudées, touchait le mur de l’enceinte, et sa seconde aile, longue de cinq coudées, touchait l’aile de l’autre chérubin;
And [the] wings of the cherubim length their [was] cubits twenty [the] wing of the one [cherub] to cubits five [was] touching [the] wall of the house and the wing other cubits five [was] touching [the] wing of the cherub other.
12 de même, l’aile de l’autre chérubin; longue de cinq coudées, touchait le mur de l’enceinte, et sa seconde aile, longue de cinq coudées, rejoignait l’aile du chérubin correspondant.
And [the] wing of the cherub one cubits five [was] touching [the] wall of the house and the wing other cubits five [was] clinging to [the] wing of the cherub other.
13 Les ailes de ces chérubins avaient donc une envergure de vingt coudées; quant à eux-mêmes, ils se tenaient debout sur leurs pieds, la face tournée vers l’édifice.
[the] wings of The cherubim these [were] spreading out cubits twenty and they [were] standing on feet their and faces their [were] to the inside.
14 Il fit le voile en étoffes d’azur, de pourpre, de cramoisi et de byssus, et y broda des chérubins.
And he made the curtain violet and purple and crimson and fine linen and he put up on it cherubim.
15 Il disposa, en avant du temple, deux colonnes longues de trente-cinq coudées et surmontées d’un chapiteau de cinq coudées.
And he made before the house pillars two cubits thirty and five length and the capital which [was] on top its [was] cubits five.
16 Il fit des festons en forme de chaînes et les posa sur le sommet des colonnes; il fit cent grenades et les entrelaça dans les festons.
And he made chains in the innermost room and he put [them] on [the] top of the pillars and he made pomegranates one hundred and he put [them] on the chains.
17 Puis il dressa les colonnes devant le hêkhal, l’une à droite et l’autre à gauche, donna à celle de droite le nom de Yakhin, et à celle de gauche le nom de Boaz.
And he set up the pillars on [the] face the temple one from [the] south and one from the north and he called [the] name of (the south [one] *Q(K)*) Jakin and [the] name of the north [one] Boaz.
