Sons of Japheth: Gomer and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
6 Enfants de Gomer: Achkenaz, Difath et Togarma.
And sons of Gomer: Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
7 Enfants de Yavân: Elicha, Tharsis, Kittim et Rodanim.
And sons of Javan: Elisha, and Tarshishah, Kittim, and Dodanim.
8 Enfants de Cham: Kouch, Misraïm, Pout et Canaan.
Sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
9 Enfants de Kouch: Seba, Havila, Sabta, Râma et Sabteca; enfants de Râma: Cheba et Dedân.
And sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecka. And sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
10 Kouch engendra aussi Nemrod, celui qui, le premier, fut puissant sur la terre.
And Cush begot Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the land.
11 Misraïm fut la souche des Loudim, des Anamim, des Lehabim, des Naftouhim,
And Mizraim begot the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,
12 des Pathrousim, des Kaslouhim (d’où sortirent les Philistins) et des Kaftorim.
and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim (from whom the Philistim came out), and the Caphtorim.
13 Canaan engendra Sidon, son premier-né, Heth,
And Canaan begot Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
14 puis le Jébuséen, l’Amorréen, le Ghirgachéen,
and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
15 le Hévéen, l’Arkéen, le Sinéen,
and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
16 l’Arvadéen, le Cemaréen et le Hamathéen.

17 Enfants de Sem: Elam, Assur, Arphaxad, Loud, Aram, Ouç, Houl, Ghéter et Méchec.
Sons of Shem: Elam and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.
18 Arphaxad engendra Chélah, et Chélah engendra Eber.
And Arphaxad begot Shelah, and Shelah begot Eber.
19 A Eber il naquit deux fils. Le nom de l’un était Péleg, parce que de son temps fut partagée la terre; et le nom de son frère: Yoktân.
And two sons have been born to Eber, the name of the first [is] Peleg, for in his days the earth has been divided, and the name of his brother is Joktan.
20 Yoktân engendra Almodad, Chélef, Haçarmaveth, Yérah,
And Joktan begot Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
21 Hadoram, Ouzal, Dikla,
and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
22 Ebal, Abimaêl, Cheba,
and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
23 Ophir, Havila et Yobab. Tous ceux-là furent enfants de Yoktân.
and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these [are] sons of Joktan.
24 Sem, Arphaxad, Chélah,
Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,
25 Eber, Péleg, Reou,
Eber, Peleg, Reu,
26 Seroug, Nacor, Tharé,
Serug, Nahor, Terah,
27 Abram, qui est identique à Abraham.
Abram—he [is] Abraham.
28 Enfants d’Abraham: Isaac et Ismaël.
Sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.
29 Voici leurs générations: le premier-né d’Ismaël, Nebaïoth, puis Kédar, Adbeêl, Mibsam,
These [are] their generations: [the] firstborn of Ishmael [was] Nebaioth, then Kedar, and Adheel, and Mibsam,
30 Michma, Douma, Massa, Hadad, Têma,
Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,
31 Yetour, Nafich et Kêdma. Tels sont les fils d’Ismaël.
Jetur, Naphish, and Kedema. These are sons of Ishmael.
32 Enfants de Ketoura, concubine d’Abraham: elle enfanta Zimrân, Yokchân, Medân, Madiân, Yichbak et Chouah. Enfants de Yokchân: Cheba et Dedân.
And sons of Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.
33 Enfants de Madiân: Efa, Efer, Hanoc, Abida et Eldaa. Tous ceux-là furent les enfants de Ketoura.
And sons of Midian: Ephah and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah; all these [are] sons of Keturah.
34 Abraham engendra Isaac. Enfants d’Isaac: Esaü et Israël.
And Abraham begets Isaac. Sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.
35 Enfants d’Esaü: Elifaz, Reouêl, Yeouch, Yâlam et Korah.
Sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.
36 Enfants d’Elifaz: Têmân, Omar, Cefi, Gâtam, Kenaz, Timna et Amalec.
Sons of Eliphaz: Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.
37 Enfants de Reouêl: Nahath, Zérah, Chamma et Mizza.
Sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
38 Enfants de Séir: Lotân, Chobal, Cibôn, Ana, Dichôn, Ecer et Dichân.
And sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezar, and Dishan.
39 Enfants de Lotân: Hori et Homam; la sœur de Lotân était Timna.
And sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam, and sister of Lotan [is] Timna.
40 Enfants de Chobal: Alyân, Manahath, Ebal, Chefi et Onam. Enfants de Cibôn: Ayya et Ana.
Sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And sons of Zideon: Aiah and Anah.
41 Enfants de Ana: Dichôn… Enfants de Dichôn: Hamrân, Echbân, Yithrân et Kerân.
The sons of Anah: Dishon. And sons of Dishon: Amram, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
42 Enfants d’Ecer: Bilhân, Zaavân et Yaakân. Enfants de Dichôn: Ouç et Arân.
Sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zavan, Jakan. Sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
43 Ce sont ici les rois qui régnèrent dans le pays d’Edom, avant qu’un roi régnât sur les enfants d’Israël: Béla, fils de Beor. Le nom de sa ville natale était Dinhaba.
And these [are] the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before the reigning of a king of the sons of Israel: Bela son of Beor, and the name of his city [is] Dinhabah.
44 Béla étant mort, à sa place régna Yobab, fils de Zérah, de Boçra.
And Bela dies, and Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrali reigns in his stead;
45 Yobab étant mort, à sa place régna Houcham, du pays des Témanites.
and Jobab dies, and Husham from the land of the Temanite reigns in his stead;
46 Houcham étant mort, à sa place régna Hadad, fils de Bedad, qui défit Madiân dans la campagne de Moab. Le nom de sa ville était Avith.
and Husham dies, and Hadad son of Bedad reigns in his stead (who strikes Midian in the field of Moab) and the name of his city [is] Avith;
47 Hadad étant mort, à sa place régna Samla, de Masrêka.
and Hadad dies, and Samlah from Masrekah reigns in his stead;
48 Samla étant mort, à sa place régna Chaoul, de Rehoboth-sur-le-Fleuve.
and Samlah dies, and Shaul from Rehoboth of the River reigns in his stead;
49 Chaoul étant mort, à sa place régna Baal-Hanân, fils d’Akhbor.
and Shaul dies, and Ba‘al-Hanan son of Achbor reigns in his stead;
50 Baal-Hanân étant mort à sa place régna Hadad, dont la ville avait nom Pâï et dont la femme s’appelait Mehêtabel, fille de Matred, fille de Mê-Zahab.
and Ba‘al-Hanan dies, and Hadad reigns in his stead, and the name of his city [is] Pai, and the name of his wife [is] Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-Zahab; Hadad also dies.
51 Hadad mourut, et voici quels furent les chefs d’Edom: le chef Timna, le chef Alva, le chef Yethêth,
And chiefs of Edom are: Chief Timnah, Chief Aliah, Chief Jetheth,
52 le chef Oholibama, le chef Ela, le chef Pinôn,
Chief Aholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon,
53 le chef Kenaz, le chef Têmân, le chef Mibçar,
Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar,
54 le chef Magdiêl, le chef Iram. Tels furent les chefs d’Edom.
Chief Magdiel, Chief Iram. These [are] chiefs of Edom.
