1 Descendants de Juda: Héçron, Karmi, Hour et Chobal.
The sones of Juda weren Phares, and Esrom, and Carmy, and Hur, and Sobal.
2 Reaïa, fils de Chobal, engendra Yahat; celui-ci, Ahoumaï et Lahad. Telles étaient les familles des Çoratiens.

3 Ceux-ci fondèrent Etham, Jezreël, Yichma et Yidbach; leur sœur s’appelait Hacelélponi.

4 Penouêl fut le père de Ghedor, Ezer, de Houcha. Tels furent les descendants de Hour, le premier-né d’Ephrata, le père de Bethléem.

9 Yabêç était le plus considéré de ses frères. C’Était sa mère qui lui avait donné le nom de Yabêç, en disant: "Certes, j’ai enfanté avec douleur."

18 Sa femme, la Judéenne, enfanta Yéred, père de Ghedor, Héber, père de Sokho, Yekoutiël, père de Zanoah. Ceux-là, furent les enfants de Bitia, fille de Pharaon, qu’avait épousée Méred.

19 Les fils de la femme de Hodia, sœur de Naham, furent le "père" de Keïla, le Garmien, et d’Echtemoa, le Maakhatien.

21 Les fils de Chêla, fils de Juda, furent Er, "père" de Lêkha, Lada, "père" de Marêcha, et les familles de la maison du travail de byssus, de la maison d’Achbêa;

24 Les fils de Siméon furent: Nemouêl, Yamîn, Yarib, Zérah, Chaoul.

25 Celui-ci eut pour fils Challoum, celui-ci Mibsam, celui-ci Michma.

26 Les descendants de Michma furent Hammouêl, qui eut pour fils Zakkour, celui-ci Chimeï.

27 Chimeï eut seize fils et six filles, tandis que ses frères n’eurent pas beaucoup d’enfants; toutes leurs familles n’atteignirent pas le nombre des descendants de Juda.

28 Ils habitèrent Bersabée, Molada, Haçar-Choual,

29 Bilha, Ecem, Tolad,
and in Balaa, and in Aason, and in Tholat,
30 Betouêl, Horma, Ciklag,
and in Bathuel, and in Horma,
31 Beth-Marcabot, Haçar-Soussim, Beth-Bireï et Chaaraïm. Telles furent leurs villes jusqu’à l’avènement de David.
and in Sicheloch, and in Betmarchaboth, and in Archasusym, and in Bethbaray, and in Saarym; these weren the citees of hem, `til to the kyng Dauid.
32 Ils eurent pour dépendances Etam, Ayîn, Rimmôn, Tokhén et Achàn, soit cinq villes,
Also the townes of hem weren Ethan, and Aen, and Remmon, and Techen, and Asan; fyue citees.
33 et toutes les campagnes, aux environs de ces villes, jusqu’à Baal. Telles furent leurs résidences et leur filiation par familles.
And alle the vilagis of hem bi the cumpas of these citees, `til to Baal; this is the dwellyng of hem, and the departyng of seetis.
34 Quand à Mechobab, Yamlêkh, Yocha, fils d’Amacia,

and Helioneai, and Jacoba, and Sucua, and Asaia, and Adihel, and Hisemeel, and Banaia;
37 et Ziza, fils de Chifeï, fils d’Allôn, fils de Yedaïa, fils de Chimri, fils de Chemaïa,
and Ziza, the sone of Sephei, the sone of Allon, sone of Abdaia, sone of Semry, sone of Samaia.
38 ceux-là, qui sont désignés nominativement, et qui étaient princes dans leurs familles, leurs lignées paternelles débordèrent beaucoup

39 et allèrent jusqu’à l’entrée de Ghedor, à l’est de la vallée, afin d’y chercher des pâturages pour leurs troupeaux.

40 Ils y trouvèrent des pâturages gras et bons et un pays vaste, tranquille et pacifique, car ceux qui y habitaient auparavant étaient des descendants de Cham.
And thei fonden pasturis ful plenteuouse, and ful goode, and a ful large lond, and restful, and plenteuouse, wherynne men of the generacioun of Cham hadden dwellid bifore.
41 Ceux donc qui ont été désignés par leurs noms vinrent à l’époque d’Ezéchias, roi de Juda; ils détruisirent leurs tentes et les habitations qui s’y trouvaient et ils les vouèrent à l’interdit, ce qui se voit encore aujourd’hui; puis ils s’y établirent à leur place, car ils avaient là des pâturages pour leurs troupeaux.
Therfor these men, whiche we discryueden bifore `bi name, camen in the daies of Ezechie, kyng of Juda; and smytiden the tabernaclis of hem, and the dwelleris that weren foundun there; and thei `diden awei hem `til in to present dai; and thei dwelliden for hem, for thei founden there ful plenteuouse pasturis.
42 D’Entre eux, c’est-à-dire des descendants de Siméon, cinq cents hommes allèrent se fixer sur la montagne de Séïr. Ils avaient à leur tête Pelatia, Nearia, Refaïa et Ouzziël, fils de Yicheï.
Also fyue hundrid men of the sones of Symeon yeden in to the hil of Seir, and thei hadden princes Faltias, and Narias, and Raphaias, and Oziel, the sones of Jesi;
43 Ils exterminèrent le reste des survivants d’Amalec, et ils habitent là encore aujourd’hui.
