1 Chroniques 2

1 Voici les enfants d’Israël: Ruben, Siméon, Lévi, Juda, Issachar et Zabulon,

These, are the sons of Israel, —Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun;

2 Dan, Joseph et Benjamin, Nephtali, Gad et Aser.

Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher,

3 Enfants de Juda: Er, Onân et Chêla; ces trois lui naquirent de la fille de Choua, la Cananéenne. Er, le premier-né de Juda, ayant déplu au Seigneur, le Seigneur le fit mourir.

the sons of Judah, Er, and Onan, and Shelah, the three born to him of the daughter of Shua the Canaanitess, —but Er the firstborn of Judah became wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, and he slew him.

4 Tamar, sa bru, lui enfanta Péreç et Zérah. Total des fils de Juda: cinq.

And, Tamar his daughter-in-law, bare him, Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah, were five.

5 Les fils de Péreç furent Heçrôn et Hamoul.

The sons of Perez, Hezron and Hamul.

6 Fils de Zérah: Zimri, Ethân, Hêmân, Kalkol, Dara, en tout cinq.

And, the sons of Zerah, Zimri and Ethan, and Heman and Calcol and Dara, all of them, five.

7 Fils de Carmi: Akhar, qui affligea Israël en violant l’anathème.

And, the sons of Carmi, Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in a thing devoted.

8 Fils d’Ethân: Azaria.

And, the sons of Ethan, Azariah.

9 Fils de Heçrôn, qui lui naquirent: Yerahmeêl, Râm et Keloubaï.

And, the sons of Hezron, who were born to him, Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Calubai.

10 Râm engendra Amminadab, et Amminadab Nahchôn, prince des enfants de Juda.

And, Ram, begat Amminadab, —and, Amminadab, begat Nahshon, leader of the sons of Judah.

11 Nahchôn engendra Salmâ, et Salmâ Booz.

And, Nahshon, begat Salma, and, Salma, begat Boaz;

12 Booz engendra Obed, et Obed Jessé.

and, Boaz, begat Obed, and, Obed, begat Jesse;

13 Jessé engendra comme premier-né Elïab, Abinadab deuxième, Chimea troisième,

and, Jesse, begat—his firstborn, Eliab, —and Abinadab, the second, and Shimea, the third;

14 Nethanel quatrième, Raddaï cinquième,

Nethanel, the fourth, Raddai, the fifth;

15 Ocem sixième, David septième.

Ozem, the sixth, David, the seventh.

16 Leurs sœurs étaient Cerouya et Abigaïl; les fils de Cerouya: Abchaï, Joab, Assahel, en tout trois.

And, their sisters, were Zeruiah and Abigail, —and, the sons of Zeruiah, Abishai and Joab and Asahel, three,

17 Abigaïl enfanta Amassa. Amassa avait pour père Yéter, l’Ismaélite.

And, Abigail, bare Amasa, —and, the father of Amasa, was Jether the Ishmaelite.

18 Caleb, fils de Heçrôn, eut des enfants d’Azouba, sa femme, et de Yerioth. Les enfants de la première furent: Yêcher, Chobab et Ardôn.

And, Caleb son of Hezron, begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth, —and, these, were her sons, Jesher and Shobab and Ardon.

19 Azouba étant morte, Caleb épousa Efrath, et celle-ci lui enfanta Hour.

And Azubah died, —and Caleb took unto him Ephrath, and she bare to him Hur.

20 Hour engendra Ouri, et Ouri Beçalêl.

And, Hur, begat Uri, and, Uri, begat Bezalel.

21 Ensuite Heçrôn eut commerce avec une fille de Makhir, père de Ghilad, qu’il avait épousée à l’âge de soixante ans. Elle lui enfanta Segoub.

And, afterward, Hezron went in unto the daughter of Machir, father of Gilead, and he took her when he was sixty years old, —and she bare him Segub.

22 Segoub engendra Yaïr, qui posséda vingt-trois villes dans le pays de Galaad.

And, Segub, begat Jair, —who came to have twenty-three cities, in the land of Gilead;

23 Ghechour et Aram leur enlevèrent les bourgs de Yaïr, avec Kenath et ses bourgs, en tout soixante villes. Tous ceux-là étaient fils de Makhir, père de Ghilad.

but Geshur and Aram took the towns of Jair from them, with Kenath and the villages thereof, sixty cities. All these, were the sons of Machir, father of Gilead.

24 Après la mort de Heçrôn à Caleb d’Efrath, la femme de Heçron, Abiyya, lui enfanta Achhour, le père de Tekoa.

And, after the death of Hezron, Caleb entered Ephrathah, —and, the wife of Hezron, was Abiah, who bare him Ashur, father of Tekoa.

25 Les fils de Yerahmeêl, le premier-né de Heçron, furent Râm, l’aîné, Bouna, Orén, Ocem, nés d’ Ahiyya.

And the sons of Jerahmeel firstborn of Hezron were, the firstborn, Ram, —and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem [of] Ahijah.

26 Yerahmeêl eut une autre femme, du nom d’Atara. Ce fut la mère d’Onam.

And Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name, was Atarah, —the same, was the mother of Onam.

27 Les fils de Râm, le premier-né de Yerahmeêl, furent: Maaç, Yamîn et Eker.

And the sons of Ram, the firstborn of Jerameel, were, —Maaz and Jamin, and Eker.

28 Les fils d’Onam furent Chammaï et Yada, ceux de Chammaï: Nadab et Abichour.

And the sons of Onam were, Shammai and Jada, —and, the sons of Shammai, Nadab and Abishur.

29 La femme d’Abichour, qui s’appelait Abihaïl, lui enfanta Ahbân et Molid.

And, the name of the wife of Abishur, was Abihail, —and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.

30 Les fils de Nadab furent Séled et Appaïm. Séled mourut sans enfants.

And, the sons of Nadab, Seled and Appaim, —but Seled died without sons.

31 Les enfants d’Appaïm furent Yicheï, de celui-ci Chêchân, de celui-ci Ahlaï.

And, the sons of Appaim, Ishi, and, the sons of Ishi, Sheshan, and, the sons of Sheshan, Ahlai.

32 Les fils de Yada, frère de Chammaï, furent Yéter et Jonathan. Yéter mourut sans enfants.

And, the sons of Jada, brother of Shammai, Jether, and Jonathan, —but Jether died without sons.

33 Les fils de Jonathan furent: Péleth et Zaza. Tels furent les descendants de Yerahmeêl.

And the sons of Jonathan, Peleth and Zaza. These, were the sons of Jerahmeel.

34 Chêchân n’avait pas de fils, mais seulement des filles. Ayant un esclave égyptien du nom de Yarha,

Now Sheshan had, no sons, but, daughters, —and, Sheshan, had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha;

35 Chêchân donna en mariage sa fille à ce Yarha, son esclave, et elle lui enfanta Attaï.

so Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant, to wife, —and she bare him Attai.

36 Attaï engendra Nathan, et celui-ci Zabad.

And, Attai, begat Nathan, and, Nathan, begat Zabad;

37 Zabad engendra Eflâl, et celui-ci Obed.

and, Zabad, begat Ephlal, and, Ephlal, begat Obed;

38 Obed engendra Jéhu et celui-ci Azaria.

and, Obed, begat Jehu, and, Jehu, begat Azariah;

39 Azaria engendra Héleç, et celui-ci Elassa.

and, Azariah, begat Helez, and, Helez, begat Eleasah;

40 Elassa engendra Sismaï et celui-ci Challoum.

and, Eleasah, begat Sismai, and, Sismai, begat Shallum;

41 Challoum engendra Yekamia, et celui-ci Elichama.

and, Shallum, begat Jekamiah, and, Jekamiah, begat Elishama.

42 Les fils de Caleb, frère de Yerahmeêl, furent: Mêcha, son premier-né, le père de Zif, et Marêcha, son autre fils, le père de Hébron.

Now, the sons of Caleb, brother of Jerahmeel, were, Mesha his firstborn, the same, was the father of Ziph, —and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.

43 Les fils de Hébron furent: Korah, Tappouah, Rékem et Chéma.

And, the sons of Hebron, Korah and Tappuah, and Rekem and Shema.

44 Chéma engendra Raham, le père de Yorkeam, et Rékem engendra Chammaï.

And, Shema, begat Raham, the father of Jorkeam, —and, Rekem, begat Shammai.

45 Le fils de Chammaï fut Maôn, et Maôn fut le père de Bêth-Çour.

And, the son of Shammai, was Maon, —and, Maon, was the father of Beth-zur.

46 Efa, concubine de Caleb, enfanta Harân et Moça (et Gazêz). Harân enfanta Gazêz.

And, Ephah, the concubine of Caleb, bare Haran and Moza, and Gazez, —and, Haran, begat Gazez.

47 Les enfants de Yéhdaï furent: Réghem, Jotham, Ghêchân, Pélét, Efa et Chaaf.

And, the sons of Jahdai, Regem and Jotham and Geshan and Pelet, and Ephah and Shaaph.

48 Une autre concubine de Caleb, nommée Maakha, enfanta Chéber et Tirhana.

A concubine of Caleb, Maacah, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah;

49 Elle enfanta Chaaf, le père de Madmanna, Cheva, le père de Makhbèna et le père de Ghibea. La fille de Caleb était Akhsa.

she also bare Shaaph, father of Madmannah, Sheva, father of Machbena, and father of Gibea, —and, the daughter of Caleb, was Achsah.

50 Caleb, fils de Hour, premier-né d’Efrata, eut pour fils: Chobal, le père de Kiryat-Yearim,

These, were the sons of Caleb, sons of Hur, firstborn of Ephrathah, —Shobal, the father of Kiriath-jearim;

51 Salma, le père de Bethléem, Harêf, le père de Bêth-Ghédêr.

Salma, the father of Bethlehem, Hareph, the father of Beth-gader.

52 Chobal, le père de Kiryat-Yearim, eut des enfants: Haroé, Haci-Hammenouhoth.

And Shobal, the father of Kiriath-jearim had sons, —Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth.

53 Les familles de Kiryat-Yearim furent: le Yitrien, le Poutien, le Choumatien et le Michraïen. D’Eux essaimèrent le Çoratien et l’Echtaoulien.

And, the families of Kiriath-jearim, were the Ithrites, and the Puthites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites, —from these, came the Zorathites, and the Eshtaolites.

54 Les enfants de Salma furent Bethléem, le Netofatien, Atroth, Bêth-Yoab, le Haci-Hammanahtien, le Çorien.

The sons of Salma, were Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, Atrothbeth-joab, —and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites;

55 Les familles des scribes qui demeuraient à Yabêç étaient les Tiratiens, les Chimatiens et les Soukatiens. C’Étaient les Kéniens, issus de Hamath, le père de Bêth-Rêkhab.

and the families of scribes who dwelt at Jabez, the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, the Sucathites. The same, are the Kenites who came in from Hammath, father of the house of Rechab.
