1 Chroniques 16
1 On introduisit l’arche de Dieu et on l’installa dans le pavillon que David avait dressé pour elle, et on offrit devant Dieu des holocaustes et des rémunératoires.
So they brought in the Arke of God, and set it in the middes of the Tabernacle that Dauid had pitched for it, and they offred burnt offrings and peace offrings before God.
2 Lorsque David eut achevé d’offrir ces holocaustes et ces rémunératoires, il bénit le peuple au nom de l’Eternel,
And when Dauid had made an ende of offering the burnt offering and the peace offerings, hee blessed the people in the Name of the Lord.
3 fit distribuer à tout Israël, hommes et femmes, à chacun une miche de pain, une pièce de viande et une mesure de vin.
And he dealt to euery one of Israel both man and woman, to euery one a cake of breade, and a piece of flesh, and a bottel of wine.
4 Il établit devant l’arche de l’Eternel des Lévites chargés du culte, pour célébrer, louer et chanter l’Eternel, Dieu d’Israël:
And he appointed certaine of the Leuites to minister before the Arke of the Lord, and to rehearse and to thanke and prayse the Lord God of Israel:
5 à savoir Assaph, comme chef, Zekharia, comme second, Yeïêl, Chemiramot, Yehïêl, Mattitia, Elïab, Benaïahou, Obed-Edom. Yeïêl jouait du luth et de la harpe, Assaph de la cymbale,
Asaph the chiefe, and next to him Zechariah, Ieiel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obed Edom, euen Ieiel with instruments, violes and harpes, and Asaph to make a sound with cymbales,
6 Benaïahou et Yahazïêl, prêtres, de la trompette, régulièrement devant l’arche d’alliance de Dieu.
And Benaiah and Iahaziel Priestes, with trumpets continually before the Arke of the couenant of God.
7 C’Est ce jour-là que David confia la direction des chants de grâce à l’Eternel à Assaph et à ses frères.
Then at that time Dauid did appoint at the beginning to giue thankes to the Lord by the hand of Asaph and his brethren.
8 Rendez hommage à l’Eternel, proclamez son nom, Publiez parmi les nations ses hauts faits.
Praise the Lord and call vpon his Name: declare his workes among the people.
9 Chantez, en son honneur, célébrez-le, Entretenez-vous de toutes ses merveilles.
Sing vnto him, sing praise vnto him, and talke of all his wonderfull workes.
10 Glorifiez-vous de son saint nom; Que le cœur de ceux qui recherchent l’Eternel soit en joie!
Reioyce in his holy Name: let the hearts of them that seeke the Lord reioyce.
11 Mettez-vous en quête de l’Eternel et de sa puissance, Aspirez constamment à jouir de sa présence.
Seeke the Lord and his strength: seeke his face continually.
12 Souvenez-vous des merveilles qu’il a opérées, De ses prodiges et des arrêts sortis de sa bouche,
Remember his marueilous workes that he hath done, his wonders, and the iudgements of his mouth,
13 Vous, ô postérité d’Israël, son serviteur, Fils de Jacob, ses élus!
O seede of Israel his seruant, O the children of Iaakob his chosen.
14 Il est, lui, l’Eternel, notre Dieu; Ses jugements s’étendent à toute la terre.
He is the Lord our God: his iudgements are throughout all the earth.
15 Rappelez-vous éternellement son alliance, Le pacte qu’il a promulgué pour mille générations,
Remember his couenant for euer, and the worde, which hee commanded to a thousand generations:
16 Qu’il a conclu avec Abraham, Qu’il a fait par serment avec Isaac.
Which he made with Abraham, and his othe to Izhak:
17 Il l’a érigé en loi pour Jacob, En contrat immuable pour Israël.
And hath confirmed it to Iaakob for a Law, and to Israel for an euerlasting couenant,
18 "C’Est à toi, disait-il, que je donnerai le pays de Canaan Comme un lot héréditaire,
Saying, To thee will I giue the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.
19 Quoique vous soyez encore en petit nombre, Et à peine établis comme étrangers dans ce pays."
When ye were fewe in number, yea, a very fewe, and strangers therein,
20 Puis ils se mirent à errer de nation en nation, D’Un royaume vers un autre peuple.
And walked about from nation to nation, and from one kingdome to another people,
21 Il ne permit à personne de les opprimer, Et à cause d’eux il châtia des rois:
He suffered no man to do them wrong, but rebuked Kings for their sakes, saying,
22 "Ne touchez pas à mes oints, Ne faites pas de mal à mes prophètes!"
Touch not mine anoynted, and doe my Prophets no harme.
23 Chantez à l’Eternel, toute la terre, Publiez de jour en jour son secours.
Sing vnto the Lord all the earth: declare his saluation from day to day.
24 Proclamez parmi les peuples sa gloire, Parmi toutes les nations, ses merveilles,
Declare his glory among the nations, and his wonderful workes among all people.
25 Car grand est l’Eternel et infiniment digne de louanges; Il est redoutable plus que toutes les divinités.
For the Lord is great and much to be praised, and hee is to bee feared aboue all gods.
26 Car tous les dieux des nations sont de vaines idoles, Mais l’Éternel est l’auteur des cieux.
For all the gods of the people are idoles, but the Lord made the heauens.
27 Majesté et splendeur forment son avant-garde, Force et magnificence emplissent sa résidence.
Prayse and glory are before him: power and beautie are in his place.
28 Célébrez l’Eternel, groupes de nations, Célébrez sa gloire et sa puissance;
Giue vnto the Lord, ye families of the people: giue vnto the Lord glory and power.
29 Rendez hommage au nom glorieux de l’Eternel, Apportez des offrandes et présentez-vous devant Lui; Prosternez-vous devant l’Eternel en un saint apparat.
Giue vnto the Lord ye glory of his Name: bring an offring and come before him, and worship the Lord in the glorious Sanctuarie.
30 Que toute la terre tremble devant lui! Grâce à lui, l’univers est stable et ne vacille point.
Tremble ye before him, al the earth: surely the world shalbe stable and not moue.
31 Que les cieux se réjouissent Que la terre soit dans l’allégresse, Qu’on dise parmi les peuples: "L’Eternel est roi!"
Let the heauens reioyce, and let the earth be glad, and let them say among the nations, The Lord reigneth.
32 Que la mer gronde avec ce qu’elle contient, Que les champs éclatent en transports Avec tout ce qui les couvre!
Let the sea roare, and all that therein is: Let the field be ioyfull and all that is in it.
33 Qu’en même temps les arbres de la forêt résonnent joyeusement A l’approche de l’Eternel! Car il vient pour juger la terre.
Let the trees of the wood then reioyce at the presence of the Lord: for he commeth to iudge the earth.
34 Rendez hommage à l’Eternel, car il est bon, Car sa grâce dure à jamais.
Prayse the Lord, for hee is good, for his mercie endureth for euer.
35 Dites: "Viens à notre secours, Dieu de notre salut, Rassemble-nous et délivre-nous d’entre les nations, Pour que nous rendions hommage à ton saint nom, Et célébrions tes louanges.
And say ye, Saue vs, O God, our saluation, and gather vs, and deliuer vs from the heathen, that we may prayse thine holy Name, and glorie in thy praise.
36 Béni soit l’Eternel, le Dieu d’Israël, D’Éternité en éternité!" Et le peuple tout entier dit: "Amen et louange à l’Eternel!"
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for euer and euer: and let all people say, So be it, and praise the Lord.
37 David commit donc là, devant l’arche d’alliance de l’Eternel, à Assaph et à ses frères, la mission de faire le service devant l’arche d’une manière régulière, suivant les exigences de chaque jour.
Then he left there before the Arke of the Lordes couenant Asaph and his brethren to minister continually before the Arke, that which was to be done euery day:
38 Obed-Edom, fils de Yedithoun, et Hossa et leurs frères, au nombre de soixante-huit, furent établis portiers.
And Obed Edom and his brethren, three score and eight: and Obed Edom the sonne of Ieduthun, and Hosah were porters.
39 Çadok, le pontife, et ses frères, les prêtres, restèrent devant le sanctuaire de l’Eternel, au haut lieu qui était à Gabaon,
And Zadok the Priest and his brethren the Priestes were before the Tabernacle of ye Lord, in the hie place that was at Gibeon,
40 pour offrir des holocaustes à l’Eternel, sur l’autel des holocaustes, régulièrement, matin et soir, accomplissant tout ce qui est écrit dans la Loi de l’Eternel, prescrite à tout Israël.
To offer burnt offrings vnto the Lord, vpon the burnt offring altar continually, in the morning and in the euening, euen according vnto all that is written in the law of the Lord, which hee commanded Israel.
41 Avec eux étaient Hêmân, Yedouthoun et les autres hommes de choix, qui avaient été désignés nominativement. Ils louaient l’Eternel, disant: "Car éternelle est sa grâce."
And with them were Heman, and Ieduthun, and the rest that were chosen (which were appointed by names) to praise the Lord, because his mercie endureth for euer.
42 Hêmân et Yedouthoun avaient la garde des trompettes et des cymbales dont on jouait et des instruments de musique du culte. Les fils de Yedouthoun étaient préposés aux portes.
Euen with them were Heman and Ioduthun, to make a sound with the cornets and with the cymbales, with excellent instruments of musicke: and the sonnes of Ieduthun were at the gate.
43 Puis tout le peuple se retira, chacun chez soi, et David rentra pour bénir sa famille.
And all the people departed, euerie man to his house: and Dauid returned to blesse his house.
