Psaumes 92
1 Psaume. Cantique pour le jour du sabbat. Il est bon de célébrer l’Éternel, et de chanter des cantiques à [la gloire de] ton nom, ô Très-haut!
Yahweh, it is good for people to thank you and to sing to praise you [MTY] who are greater than any other god.
2 D’annoncer le matin ta bonté, et ta fidélité dans les nuits,
It is good to proclaim every morning that you faithfully love us, and each night [to sing songs that] declare that you always do what you have promised to do,
3 Sur l’instrument à dix cordes, et sur le luth, et sur le higgaïon avec la harpe.
accompanied by [musicians playing] harps that have ten strings, and by the sounds made by a lyre.
4 Car, ô Éternel! tu m’as réjoui par tes actes; je chanterai de joie à cause des œuvres de tes mains.
Yahweh, you have caused me to be glad; I sing joyfully because of what you [SYN] have done.
5 Éternel! que tes œuvres sont grandes! Tes pensées sont très profondes:
Yahweh, the things that you do are great! But it is difficult for us to understand [all] that you think.
6 L’homme stupide ne le connaît pas, et l’insensé ne le comprend pas.
There are things [that you do] that foolish people cannot know about, things that stupid people cannot understand.
7 Quand les méchants poussent comme l’herbe et que tous les ouvriers d’iniquité fleurissent, c’est pour être détruits à perpétuité.
They do not understand that although the number of wicked [people] increases [like blades of] grass do [SIM], and they prosper, they will be completely destroyed.
8 Mais toi, Éternel! tu es haut élevé pour toujours.
But Yahweh, you [will] exalted/be honored/rule) forever.
9 Car voici, tes ennemis, ô Éternel! car voici, tes ennemis périront, tous les ouvriers d’iniquité seront dispersés.
Yahweh, your enemies will [certainly] die, and those who do wicked things will be defeated/scattered.
10 Mais tu élèveras ma corne comme celle du buffle; je serai oint d’une huile fraîche.
But you have caused me to be as strong [MTY] as [SIM] a wild ox; you have caused me to be very joyful [MTY].
11 Et mon œil verra [son plaisir] en mes ennemis, et mes oreilles se repaîtront du sort des méchants qui s’élèvent contre moi.
I [SYN] have seen you defeat my enemies; d I have heard those evil men wail/scream while they were being slaughtered.
12 Le juste poussera comme le palmier, il croîtra comme le cèdre dans le Liban.
But righteous [people] will prosper like [SIM] palm trees that grow well, or like [SIM] cedar [trees] that grow in Lebanon.
13 Ceux qui sont plantés dans la maison de l’Éternel fleuriront dans les parvis de notre Dieu.
[They are like the trees] that grow near the temple of Yahweh [in Jerusalem], those trees that are close to the courtyard of the temple of our God.
14 Ils porteront des fruits encore dans la blanche vieillesse, ils seront pleins de sève, et verdoyants,
[Even] when righteous people become old, they do many things [IDM] [that please God]. They remain strong and full of energy, [like trees that] [MET] remain full of sap.
15 Afin d’annoncer que l’Éternel est droit. Il est mon rocher, et il n’y a point d’injustice en lui.
That shows that Yahweh is just; he is [like a huge] rock [under which I am safe/protected], and he never does anything that is wicked/wrong.
