Psaumes 48
1 Cantique. Psaume des fils de Coré. L’Éternel est grand et fort digne de louange dans la ville de notre Dieu, dans sa montagne sainte.
A song or Psalme committed to the sonnes of Korah. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praysed, in the Citie of our God, euen vpon his holy Mountaine.
2 Belle dans son élévation, la joie de toute la terre, est la montagne de Sion, aux côtés du nord, la ville du grand roi;
Mount Zion, lying Northwarde, is faire in situation: it is the ioy of the whole earth, and the Citie of the great King.
3 Dieu est connu dans ses palais pour une haute retraite.
In the palaces thereof God is knowen for a refuge.
4 Car voici, les rois se sont assemblés, ils ont passé outre ensemble:
For lo, the Kings were gathered, and went together.
5 Ils ont vu, – ils ont été étonnés; ils ont été troublés, ils se sont enfuis consternés.
When they sawe it, they marueiled: they were astonied, and suddenly driuen backe.
6 Là, le tremblement les a saisis, une angoisse comme [celle de] la femme qui enfante.
Feare came there vpon them, and sorowe, as vpon a woman in trauaile.
7 Par le vent d’orient tu as brisé les navires de Tarsis.
As with an East winde thou breakest the shippes of Tarshish, so were they destroyed.
8 Comme nous avons entendu, ainsi nous l’avons vu dans la ville de l’Éternel des armées, dans la ville de notre Dieu: Dieu l’établit pour toujours. (Sélah)
As we haue heard, so haue we seene in the citie of the Lord of hostes, in the Citie of our God: God will stablish it for euer. (Selah)
9 Ô Dieu! nous avons pensé à ta bonté, au milieu de ton temple.
We waite for thy louing kindnes, O God, in the middes of thy Temple.
10 Ô Dieu! comme ton nom, ainsi est ta louange, jusqu’aux bouts de la terre; ta droite est pleine de justice.
O God, according vnto thy Name, so is thy prayse vnto the worlds end: thy right hand is full of righteousnes.
11 Que la montagne de Sion se réjouisse, que les filles de Juda s’égaient, à cause de tes jugements.
Let mount Zion reioyce, and the daughters of Iudah be glad, because of thy iudgements.
12 Faites le tour de Sion, et faites-en le circuit; comptez ses tours,
Compasse about Zion, and goe round about it, and tell the towres thereof.
13 Faites attention à son rempart, considérez ses palais, afin que vous le racontiez à la génération à venir.
Marke well the wall thereof: beholde her towres, that ye may tell your posteritie.
14 Car ce Dieu est notre Dieu, pour toujours et à perpétuité; il sera notre guide jusqu’à la mort.
For this God is our God for euer and euer: he shall be our guide vnto the death.
