Psaumes 130

1 Cantique des degrés. Je t’ai invoqué des lieux profonds, ô Éternel!

“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up.” Out of the depths do I cry to thee, O LORD!

2 Seigneur! écoute ma voix; que tes oreilles soient attentives à la voix de mes supplications.

O Lord! listen to my voice, Let thine ears be attentive to my supplication!

3 Ô Jah! si tu prends garde aux iniquités, Seigneur, qui subsistera?

If thou, LORD, shouldst treasure up transgressions, Lord, who could stand?

4 Mais il y a pardon auprès de toi, afin que tu sois craint.

But with thee is forgiveness, That thou mayst be feared.

5 J’ai attendu l’Éternel; mon âme l’a attendu, et j’ai eu mon attente en sa parole.

I trust in the LORD; my soul doth trust, And in his promise do I confide.

6 Mon âme [attend] le Seigneur, plus que les sentinelles [n’attendent] le matin, que les sentinelles [n’attendent] le matin.

My soul waiteth for the LORD More than they who watch for the morning; Yea, more than they who watch for the morning!

7 Israël, attends-toi à l’Éternel; car auprès de l’Éternel est la bonté, et il y a rédemption en abondance auprès de lui;

O Israel! trust in the LORD! For with the LORD is mercy, And with him is plenteous redemption.

8 Et lui rachètera Israël de toutes ses iniquités.

He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
