1 Et l’Éternel parla à Moïse, disant:
And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
2 Fais-toi deux trompettes; tu les feras d’argent battu; et elles te serviront pour la convocation de l’assemblée, et pour le départ des camps.
“Make two trumpets of silver for yourself; you make them of beaten work, and they have been for you for the convocation of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps;
3 Et lorsqu’on en sonnera, toute l’assemblée s’assemblera vers toi, à l’entrée de la tente d’assignation.
and they have blown with them, and all the congregation has assembled to you at the opening of the Tent of Meeting.
4 Et si l’on sonne d’une seule, alors les princes, les chefs des milliers d’Israël, s’assembleront vers toi.
And if they blow with one, then the princes, heads of the thousands of Israel, have assembled to you;
5 Et quand vous sonnerez avec éclat, les camps qui sont campés à l’orient partiront.
and you have blown—a shout, and the camps which are encamping eastward have journeyed.
6 Et quand vous sonnerez avec éclat une seconde fois, les camps qui sont campés au midi partiront; on sonnera avec éclat pour leurs départs.
And you have blown—a second shout, and the camps which are encamping southward have journeyed; they blow a shout for their journeys.
7 Et quand on réunira la congrégation, vous sonnerez, mais non pas avec éclat.
And in the assembling of the assembly you blow, and do not shout;
8 Les fils d’Aaron, les sacrificateurs, sonneront des trompettes; et elles seront pour vous un statut perpétuel en vos générations.
and sons of Aaron, the priests, blow with the trumpets; and they have been for a continuous statute to you throughout your generations.
9 Et quand, dans votre pays, vous irez à la guerre contre l’ennemi qui vous presse, alors vous sonnerez des trompettes avec éclat, et vous serez rappelés en mémoire devant l’Éternel, votre Dieu, et vous serez délivrés de vos ennemis.
And when you go into battle in your land against the adversary who is distressing you, then you have shouted with the trumpets, and you have been remembered before your God YHWH, and you have been saved from your enemies.
10 Et dans vos jours de joie, et dans vos jours solennels, et au commencement de vos mois, vous sonnerez des trompettes sur vos holocaustes, et sur vos sacrifices de prospérités, et elles seront un mémorial pour vous devant votre Dieu. Moi, je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu.
And in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed times, and in the beginnings of your months, you have also blown with the trumpets over your burnt-offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace-offerings, and they have been for a memorial to you before your God; I [am] your God YHWH.”
11 Et il arriva, en la seconde année, au second mois, le vingtième [jour] du mois, que la nuée se leva de dessus le tabernacle du témoignage.
And it comes to pass, in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth of the month, the cloud has gone up from off the Dwelling Place of the Testimony,
12 Et les fils d’Israël partirent du désert de Sinaï, selon leur ordre de départ, et la nuée demeura dans le désert de Paran.
and the sons of Israel journey in their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai, and the cloud dwells in the wilderness of Paran;
13 Et ils partirent, pour la première fois, selon le commandement de l’Éternel par Moïse.
and they journey at first by the command of YHWH in the hand of Moses.
14 La bannière du camp des fils de Juda partit la première, selon leurs armées; et son armée était sous Nakhshon, fils d’Amminadab;
And the standard of the camp of the sons of Judah journeys in the first [place], by their hosts, and over its host [is] Nahshon son of Amminadab.
15 et l’armée de la tribu des fils d’Issacar était sous Nethaneël, fils de Tsuar;
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Issachar [is] Nathaneel son of Zuar.
16 et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Zabulon était sous Éliab, fils de Hélon.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun [is] Eliab son of Helon.
17 Et le tabernacle fut démonté; puis les fils de Guershon et les fils de Merari partirent, portant le tabernacle.
And the Dwelling Place has been taken down, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari have journeyed, carrying the Dwelling Place.
18 Et la bannière du camp de Ruben partit, selon leurs armées; et son armée était sous Élitsur, fils de Shedéur;
And the standard of the camp of Reuben has journeyed, by their hosts, and over its host [is] Elizur son of Shedeur.
19 et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Siméon était sous Shelumiel, fils de Tsurishaddaï;
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Simeon [is] Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
20 et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Gad était sous Éliasaph, fils de Dehuel.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Gad [is] Eliasaph son of Deuel.
21 Puis les Kehathites partirent, portant le sanctuaire; et on dressa le tabernacle, en attendant leur arrivée.
And the Kohathites have journeyed, carrying the Dwelling Place, and the [others] have raised up the Dwelling Place until their coming in.
22 Et la bannière du camp des fils d’Éphraïm partit, selon leurs armées; et son armée était sous Élishama, fils d’Ammihud;
And the standard of the camp of the sons of Ephraim has journeyed, by their hosts, and over its host [is] Elishama son of Ammihud.
23 et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Manassé était sous Gameliel, fils de Pedahtsur;
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh [is] Gamalial son of Pedahzur.
24 et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Benjamin était sous Abidan, fils de Guidhoni.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin [is] Abidan son of Gideoni.
25 Et la bannière du camp des fils de Dan partit, à l’arrière-garde de tous les camps, selon leurs armées; et son armée était sous Akhiézer, fils d’Ammishaddaï;
And the standard of the camp of the sons of Dan has journeyed (rearward to all the camps), by their hosts, and over its host [is] Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.
26 et l’armée de la tribu des fils d’Aser était sous Paghiel, fils d’Ocran;
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Asher [is] Pagiel son of Ocran.
27 et l’armée de la tribu des fils de Nephthali était sous Akhira, fils d’Énan.
And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali [is] Ahira son of Enan.
28 Tel fut l’ordre de marche des fils d’Israël, selon leurs armées; et ils partirent.
These [are] the journeys of the sons of Israel by their hosts when they journey.
29 Et Moïse dit à Hobab, fils de Rehuel, Madianite, beau-père de Moïse: Nous partons pour le lieu dont l’Éternel a dit: Je vous le donnerai. Viens avec nous, et nous te ferons du bien; car l’Éternel a dit du bien à l’égard d’Israël.
And Moses says to Hobab son of Raguel the Midianite, father-in-law of Moses, “We are journeying to the place of which YHWH has said, I give it to you; go with us, and we have done good to you, for YHWH has spoken good concerning Israel.”
30 Et il lui dit: Je n’irai pas; mais je m’en irai dans mon pays, et vers ma parenté.
And he says to him, “I do not go; but I go to my land and to my family.”
31 Et [Moïse] dit: Je te prie, ne nous laisse pas, parce que tu connais les lieux où nous aurons à camper dans le désert; et tu nous serviras d’yeux.
And he says, “Please do not forsake us, because you have known our encamping in the wilderness, and you have been to us for eyes;
32 Et il arrivera, si tu viens avec nous, que le bien que l’Éternel veut nous faire nous te le ferons.
and it has come to pass, when you go with us—indeed, it has come to pass—that good which YHWH does kindly with us, we have done it kindly to you.”
33 Et ils partirent de la montagne de l’Éternel, le chemin de trois jours; et l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel alla devant eux, le chemin de trois jours, pour leur chercher un lieu de repos.
And they journey from the mountain of YHWH a journey of three days; and the Ark of the Covenant of YHWH is journeying before them [for] the journey of three days, to spy out a resting place for them;
34 Et la nuée de l’Éternel était sur eux de jour, quand ils partaient de leur campement.
and the cloud of YHWH [is] on them by day, in their journeying from the camp.
35 Et il arrivait qu’au départ de l’arche, Moïse disait: Lève-toi, Éternel! et que tes ennemis soient dispersés, et que ceux qui te haïssent s’enfuient devant toi!
And it comes to pass in the journeying of the Ark, that Moses says, “Rise, O YHWH, and Your enemies are scattered, and those hating You flee from Your presence.”
36 Et quand elle se reposait, il disait: Reviens, Éternel, aux 10 000 milliers d’Israël!
And in its resting he says, “Return, O YHWH, [to] the myriads, the thousands of Israel.”
