Marc 15
1 Et aussitôt, au matin, les principaux sacrificateurs avec les anciens et les scribes et tout le sanhédrin, ayant tenu conseil, lièrent Jésus et l’emmenèrent et le livrèrent à Pilate.
As soon as it was early morning, having already formed a plan, the chief priests with the elders and scribes, indeed the whole council, bound Jesus, led Him away and handed Him over to Pilate.
2 Et Pilate l’interrogea: Toi, tu es le roi des Juifs? Et répondant, il lui dit: Tu le dis.
Pilate asked Him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” So in answer He said to him, “You stated a fact!”
3 Et les principaux sacrificateurs l’accusaient de beaucoup de choses.
But the chief priests kept accusing Him of many things.
4 Et Pilate l’interrogea encore, disant: Ne réponds-tu rien? Vois de combien de choses ils portent témoignage contre toi.
So Pilate asked Him again, saying: “Are you not going to answer? See how many things they are testifying against you!”
5 Mais encore Jésus ne répondit rien, de sorte que Pilate s’en étonnait.
But Jesus still gave no answer, so that Pilate marveled.
6 Or il leur relâchait à la fête un prisonnier, lequel que ce soit qu’ils demandent.
Now at the feast he would release to them one prisoner, whomever they would request.
7 Et il y avait le nommé Barabbas qui était détenu avec ses compagnons de sédition, lesquels, dans la sédition, avaient commis un meurtre.
Well there was one called Barabbas, who had been bound with his fellow insurrectionists, who in the insurrection had committed murder.
8 Et la foule, poussant des cris, se mit à lui demander [de faire] comme il leur avait toujours fait.
Then the crowd began to call out and request that he do just as he always did for them.
9 Et Pilate leur répondit, disant: Voulez-vous que je vous relâche le roi des Juifs?
So Pilate answered them, saying, “Do you want me to release to you the king of the Jews?”
10 Car il savait que les principaux sacrificateurs l’avaient livré par envie.
(He knew that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy.)
11 Mais les principaux sacrificateurs excitèrent le peuple [à demander] que plutôt il leur relâche Barabbas.
But the chief priests stirred up the crowd, so that he should release Barabbas to them instead.
12 Et Pilate, répondant, leur dit encore: Que voulez-vous donc que je fasse de celui que vous appelez roi des Juifs?
Pilate answered and said to them again, “What then do you want me to do to him you call ‘king of the Jews’?”
13 Et ils s’écrièrent encore: Crucifie-le!
Again they shouted, “Crucify him!”
14 Et Pilate leur dit: Mais quel mal a-t-il fait? Et ils s’écrièrent encore plus fort: Crucifie-le!
But Pilate said to them, “But what evil did he do?” They just yelled all the louder, “Crucify him!”
15 Et Pilate, voulant contenter la foule, leur relâcha Barabbas; et, ayant fait fouetter Jésus, il le livra pour être crucifié.
So Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them, and Jesus, after a flogging, he handed over to be crucified.
16 Et les soldats l’emmenèrent dans la cour, qui est le prétoire. Et ils assemblent toute la cohorte;
Then the soldiers led Him away into the courtyard (that is, the Praetorium) and assembled the whole garrison.
17 et ils le revêtent de pourpre, et ayant tressé une couronne d’épines, ils la lui mettent autour [de la tête].
They clothed Him with purple, plaited a crown of thorns and put it on Him,
18 Et ils se mirent à le saluer, [disant]: Salut, roi des Juifs!
and began to ‘acclaim’ Him by saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
19 Et ils lui frappaient la tête avec un roseau et crachaient contre lui, et, se mettant à genoux, ils lui rendaient hommage.
They kept hitting Him on the head with a rod and spitting on Him, and kneeling down they would ‘worship’ Him.
20 Et après qu’ils se furent moqués de lui, ils le dépouillèrent de la pourpre et le revêtirent de ses propres vêtements; et ils l’emmènent dehors pour le crucifier.
When they had ridiculed Him, they took the purple off Him and put His own clothes on Him. Then they led Him out to crucify Him.
21 Et ils contraignent un certain homme, Simon, Cyrénéen, père d’Alexandre et de Rufus, qui passait par là, venant des champs, de porter sa croix.
A certain passer-by, Simon a Cyrenian (the father of Alexander and Rufus), coming in from the countryside, was compelled to carry His cross.
22 Et ils le mènent au lieu [appelé] Golgotha, ce qui, interprété, est: lieu du crâne.
They brought Him to a place Golgotha, which is translated, ‘Place of a Skull’.
23 Et ils lui donnèrent à boire du vin mixtionné de myrrhe; mais il ne le prit pas.
They offered Him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but He did not take it.
24 Et l’ayant crucifié, ils partagent ses vêtements, en tirant au sort [pour savoir] ce que chacun en prendrait.
After crucifying Him, they divided His clothes by casting lots for them, to see who would take what.
25 Et c’était la troisième heure, et ils le crucifièrent.
It was the third hour when they crucified Him.
26 Et l’écriteau concernant le sujet de son accusation portait écrit: Le roi des Juifs.
The statement of His ‘crime’ that had been written was: THE KING OF THE JEWS.
27 Et, avec lui, ils crucifient deux brigands, un à sa droite, et un à sa gauche.
With Him they also crucified two bandits, one on His right and one on His left.
28 [Et l’écriture fut accomplie, qui dit: « Et il a été compté parmi les iniques »].
So the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And He was numbered with transgressors.”
29 Et ceux qui passaient par là, l’injuriaient, hochant la tête et disant: Hé! toi qui détruis le temple et qui le bâtis en trois jours,
Those who passed by kept ridiculing Him, wagging their heads and saying, “Hey! You who can destroy the temple and build it in three days,
30 sauve-toi toi-même, et descends de la croix!
save yourself and come down from the cross!”
31 Pareillement aussi les principaux sacrificateurs, se moquant entre eux avec les scribes, disaient: Il a sauvé les autres, il ne peut se sauver lui-même.
Similarly, the chief priests, with the scribes, kept mocking among themselves saying: “He saved others; he can't save himself!
32 Que le Christ, le roi d’Israël, descende maintenant de la croix, afin que nous voyions et que nous croyions! Ceux aussi qui étaient crucifiés avec lui l’insultaient.
Let the Christ, the king of Israel, descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe him.” Those who were crucified with Him insulted Him as well.
33 Et quand la sixième heure fut venue, il y eut des ténèbres sur tout le pays jusqu’à la neuvième heure.
Now when the sixth hour had come [noon], darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34 Et à la neuvième heure, Jésus s’écria d’une forte voix, disant: Éloï, Éloï, lama sabachthani? ce qui, interprété, est: Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m’as-tu abandonné?
At the ninth hour Jesus called out strongly, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lima sabachthani?” which is translated, “O God, my God, why have You forsaken me?”
35 Et quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là présents, ayant entendu cela, disaient: Voici, il appelle Élie.
When some of the bystanders heard it they said, “Listen, he's calling Elijah.”
36 Et l’un d’eux courut, et ayant rempli une éponge de vinaigre et l’ayant mise au bout d’un roseau, il lui donna à boire, disant: Laissez, voyons si Élie vient pour le faire descendre.
Then someone ran, filled a sponge with wine vinegar, put it on a reed and started offering it to Him to drink, saying, “You let him be! ‘Let's see if Elijah is coming to take him down’!”
37 Et Jésus, ayant jeté un grand cri, expira.
Then Jesus gave a loud shout and breathed out His spirit;
38 Et le voile du temple se déchira en deux, depuis le haut jusqu’en bas.
and the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.
39 Et le centurion qui était là vis-à-vis de lui, voyant qu’il avait expiré en criant ainsi, dit: Certainement, cet homme était Fils de Dieu.
Well when the centurion, who was standing opposite Him, saw that He breathed out His spirit after giving such a loud shout, he said, “This man really was God's Son!”
40 Et il y avait aussi des femmes qui regardaient de loin, entre lesquelles étaient aussi Marie de Magdala, et Marie, la mère de Jacques le mineur et de Joses, et Salomé,
There were also women looking on from a distance, among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Less and of Joses, and Salome
41 qui, lorsqu’il était en Galilée, l’avaient suivi et l’avaient servi, et plusieurs autres qui étaient montées avec lui à Jérusalem.
—they used to follow Him and minister to Him when He was in Galilee—and many other women who had come up with Him to Jerusalem.
42 Et le soir étant déjà venu, puisque c’était la Préparation, ce qui est le jour qui précède un sabbat,
Now when evening had come, because it was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath),
43 Joseph qui était d’Arimathée, conseiller honorable, qui aussi lui-même attendait le royaume de Dieu, vint et prit sur lui d’entrer auprès de Pilate, et lui demanda le corps de Jésus.
Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent council member who also himself was waiting for the Kingdom of God, came and boldly went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.
44 Et Pilate s’étonna, [ayant peine à croire] qu’il soit déjà mort; et ayant appelé le centurion, il lui demanda s’il y avait longtemps qu’il était mort.
Well Pilate was surprised that He was already dead; and summoning the centurion he asked him when He had died.
45 Et l’ayant appris du centurion, il donna le corps à Joseph.
Upon the centurion's confirmation he granted the body to Joseph.
46 Et Joseph, ayant acheté un linceul, le descendit, et l’enveloppa du linceul, et le mit dans un sépulcre qui était taillé dans le roc, et roula une pierre contre la porte du sépulcre.
Having bought linen, he took Him down, wrapped Him in the linen and laid Him in a tomb that had been cut out of rock; then he rolled a stone against the door of the tomb.
47 Et Marie de Magdala, et Marie, la [mère] de Joses, regardaient où on le mettait.
Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses observed where He was placed.
