Marc 11
1 Et comme ils approchent de Jérusalem, de Bethphagé et de Béthanie, vers la montagne des Oliviers, il envoie deux de ses disciples
When they were getting near Jerusalem and had arrived at Bethphage and Bethany, on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples on in front, with these instructions.
2 et leur dit: Allez au village qui est vis-à-vis de vous; et aussitôt, en y entrant, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel jamais aucun homme ne s’est assis; détachez-le, et amenez-le.
"Go," He said, "to the village facing you, and immediately on entering it you will find an ass's foal tied up which no one has ever yet ridden: untie him and bring him here.
3 Et si quelqu’un vous dit: Pourquoi faites-vous cela? dites: Le Seigneur en a besoin; et aussitôt il l’enverra ici.
And if any one asks you, 'Why are you doing that?' say, 'The Master needs it, and will send it back here without delay.'"
4 Et ils s’en allèrent et trouvèrent un ânon qui était attaché dehors, à la porte, au carrefour; et ils le détachent.
So they went and found a young ass tied up at the front door of a house. They were untying it,
5 Et quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là, leur dirent: Que faites-vous là à détacher l’ânon?
when some of the bystanders called out, "What are you doing, untying the foal?"
6 Et ils leur dirent comme Jésus avait commandé; et on les laissa faire.
But on their giving the answer that Jesus had bidden them give, they let them take it.
7 Et ils amenèrent l’ânon à Jésus et mirent leurs vêtements sur l’ânon, et il s’assit dessus.
So they brought the foal to Jesus, and threw their outer garments over him; and Jesus mounted.
8 Et plusieurs étendaient leurs vêtements sur le chemin, et d’autres coupaient des rameaux des arbres, et les répandaient sur le chemin;
Then many spread their outer garments to carpet the road, and others leafy branches which they had cut down in the fields;
9 et ceux qui allaient devant et ceux qui suivaient, criaient: Hosanna, béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!
while those who led the way and those who followed kept shouting "God save Him!" Blessed be He who comes in the Lord's name.
10 Béni soit le royaume de notre père David, qui vient. Hosanna dans les lieux très hauts!
Blessings on the coming Kingdom of our forefather David! God in the highest Heavens save Him!"
11 Et il entra dans Jérusalem, [et] dans le temple; et après avoir promené ses regards de tous côtés sur tout, comme le soir était déjà venu, il sortit [et s’en alla] à Béthanie avec les douze.
So He came into Jerusalem and into the Temple; and after looking round upon everything there, the hour being now late He went out to Bethany with the Twelve.
12 Et le lendemain, comme ils sortaient de Béthanie, il eut faim.
The next day, after they had left Bethany, He was hungry.
13 Et, voyant de loin un figuier qui avait des feuilles, il s’en approcha pour voir si peut-être il y trouverait quelque chose; mais, y étant venu, il n’y trouva rien que des feuilles, car ce n’était pas la saison des figues.
But in the distance He saw a fig-tree in full leaf, and went to see whether perhaps He could find some figs on it. When however He came to it, He found nothing but leaves (for it was not fig time);
14 Et répondant, il lui dit: Que désormais personne ne mange jamais de fruit de toi. Et ses disciples l’entendirent. (aiōn g165)
and He said to the tree, "Let no one ever again eat fruit from thee!" And His disciples heard this. (aiōn g165)
15 Et ils s’en viennent à Jérusalem. Et, entrant au temple, il se mit à chasser dehors ceux qui vendaient et ceux qui achetaient dans le temple, et il renversa les tables des changeurs et les sièges de ceux qui vendaient les colombes;
They reached Jerusalem, and entering the Temple He began to drive out the buyers and sellers, and upset the money-changers' tables and the stools of the pigeon-dealers,
16 et il ne permettait pas que personne porte aucun vase par le temple.
and would not allow any one to carry anything through the Temple.
17 Et il les enseignait en disant: N’est-il pas écrit: « Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière pour toutes les nations »? mais vous, vous en avez fait une caverne de voleurs.
And He remonstrated with them. "Is it not written," He said, "'My House shall be called The House of Prayer for all the nations?' But you have made it what it now is--a robbers' cave."
18 Et les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes l’entendirent, et ils cherchèrent comment ils le feraient mourir, car ils le craignaient, parce que toute la foule était dans l’étonnement à l’égard de sa doctrine.
This the High Priests and Scribes heard, and they began to devise means to destroy Him. For they were afraid of Him, because of the deep impression produced on all the people by His teaching.
19 Et quand le soir fut venu, il sortit de la ville.
When evening came on, Jesus and His disciples used to leave the city.
20 Et le matin, comme ils passaient, ils virent le figuier séché depuis les racines.
In the early morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig-tree withered to the roots;
21 Et Pierre, se ressouvenant [de ce qui s’était passé], lui dit: Rabbi, voici, le figuier que tu as maudit est sec.
and Peter, recollecting, said to Him, "Look, Rabbi, the fig-tree which you cursed is withered up."
22 Et Jésus, répondant, leur dit: Ayez foi en Dieu.
Jesus said to them, "Have faith in God.
23 En vérité, je vous dis que quiconque dira à cette montagne: Ôte-toi, et jette-toi dans la mer, et qui ne doutera pas dans son cœur, mais croira que ce qu’il dit se fait, tout ce qu’il aura dit lui sera fait.
In solemn truth I tell you that if any one shall say to this mountain, 'Remove, and hurl thyself into the sea,' and has no doubt about it in his heart, but stedfastly believes that what he says will happen, it shall be granted him.
24 C’est pourquoi je vous dis: Tout ce que vous demanderez en priant, croyez que vous le recevez, et il vous sera fait.
That is why I tell you, as to whatever you pray and make request for, if you believe that you have received it it shall be yours.
25 Et quand vous ferez votre prière, si vous avez quelque chose contre quelqu’un, pardonnez-lui, afin que votre Père aussi, qui est dans les cieux, vous pardonne vos fautes.
But whenever you stand praying, if you have a grievance against any one, forgive it, so that your Father in Heaven may also forgive you your offences."
26 Mais si vous ne pardonnez pas, votre Père qui est dans les cieux ne pardonnera pas non plus vos fautes.
27 Et ils viennent encore à Jérusalem. Et comme il se promenait dans le temple, les principaux sacrificateurs, et les scribes et les anciens viennent à lui
They came again to Jerusalem; and as He was walking in the Temple, the High Priests, Scribes and Elders came to Him
28 et lui disent: Par quelle autorité fais-tu ces choses, et qui t’a donné cette autorité pour faire ces choses?
and asked, "By what authority are you doing these things? and who gave you authority to do them?"
29 Et Jésus, répondant, leur dit: Je vous demanderai, moi aussi, une chose, et répondez-moi; et je vous dirai par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.
"And I will put a question to you," replied Jesus; "answer me, and then I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
30 Le baptême de Jean, était-il du ciel ou des hommes? répondez-moi.
John's Baptism--was it of Heavenly or of human origin? Answer me."
31 Et ils raisonnaient entre eux, disant: Si nous disons: Du ciel, il dira: Pourquoi donc ne l’avez-vous pas cru?
So they debated the matter with one another. "Suppose we say, 'Heavenly,'" they argued, "he will ask, 'Why then did you not believe him?'
32 Mais dirions-nous: Des hommes?… ils craignaient le peuple; car tous estimaient que Jean était réellement un prophète.
Or should we say, 'human?'" They were afraid of the people; for all agreed in holding John to have been really a Prophet.
33 Et répondant, ils disent à Jésus: Nous ne savons. Et Jésus leur dit: Moi non plus, je ne vous dis pas par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.
So they answered Jesus, "We do not know." "Nor do I tell you," said Jesus, "by what authority I do these things."
