Lévitique 20
1 Et l’Éternel parla à Moïse, disant:
And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
2 Tu diras aussi aux fils d’Israël: Quiconque d’entre les fils d’Israël, ou d’entre les étrangers qui séjournent en Israël, donnera de ses enfants à Moloc, sera certainement mis à mort; le peuple du pays le lapidera avec des pierres.
Thou shalt say also to the children of Israel, Whosoeuer he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that dwell in Israel, that giueth his children vnto Molech, he shall die the death, ye people of ye land shall stone him to death.
3 Et moi, je mettrai ma face contre cet homme-là, et je le retrancherai du milieu de son peuple, parce qu’il a donné de ses enfants à Moloc, pour rendre impur mon sanctuaire et pour profaner mon saint nom.
And I will set my face against that man and cut him off from among his people, because he hath giuen his children vnto Molech, for to defile my Sanctuarie, and to pollute mine holy Name.
4 Et si le peuple du pays ferme les yeux, en quelque manière, sur cet homme, quand il donne de ses enfants à Moloc, pour ne pas le faire mourir,
And if the people of the lande hide their eyes, and winke at that man when he giueth his children vnto Molech, and kill him not,
5 moi, je mettrai ma face contre cet homme et contre sa famille, et je le retrancherai du milieu de son peuple, lui et tous ceux qui se prostituent après lui, se prostituant après Moloc.
Then will I set my face against that man, and against his familie, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him to comit whoredome with Molech, from among their people.
6 – Et l’âme qui se tournera vers ceux qui évoquent les esprits, et vers les diseurs de bonne aventure, se prostituant après eux, je mettrai ma face contre cette âme-là, et je la retrancherai du milieu de son peuple.
If any turne after such as worke with spirits, and after soothsayers, to go a whoring after them, then will I set my face against that person, and will cut him off from among his people.
7 Et vous vous sanctifierez et vous serez saints, car moi, je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu.
Sanctifie your selues therefore, and be holie, for I am the Lord your God.
8 Et vous garderez mes statuts, et vous les ferez. Moi, je suis l’Éternel qui vous sanctifie.
Keepe ye therefore mine ordinances, and doe them. I am the Lord which doeth sanctifie you.
9 Tout homme qui maudira son père et sa mère sera certainement mis à mort; il a maudit son père et sa mère, son sang est sur lui.
If there be any that curseth his father or his mother, he shall die the death: seeing hee hath cursed his father and his mother, his blood shalbe vpon him.
10 Et un homme qui commet adultère avec la femme d’un autre, – qui commet adultère avec la femme de son prochain…: l’homme et la femme adultères seront certainement mis à mort.
And the man that committeth adulterie with another mans wife, because he hath comitted adulterie with his neighbours wife, the adulterer and the adulteresse shall die the death.
11 Et l’homme qui couchera avec la femme de son père, découvre la nudité de son père; ils seront certainement mis à mort, tous deux: leur sang est sur eux.
And the man that lyeth with his fathers wife, because hee hath vncouered his fathers shame, they shall both dye: their blood shalbe vpon them.
12 Et si un homme couche avec sa belle-fille, ils seront certainement mis à mort, tous deux; ils ont fait une confusion: leur sang est sur eux.
Also the man that lyeth with his daughter in lawe, they both shall dye the death, they haue wrought abomination, their blood shalbe vpon them.
13 Et si un homme couche avec un mâle, comme on couche avec une femme, ils ont fait tous deux une chose abominable; ils seront certainement mis à mort: leur sang est sur eux.
The man also that lyeth with the male, as one lyeth with a woman, they haue both committed abomination: they shall dye the death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
14 Et si un homme prend une femme et sa mère, c’est une infamie; on les brûlera au feu, lui et elles, et il n’y aura point d’infamie au milieu de vous.
Likewise he that taketh a wife and her mother, committeth wickednesse: they shall burne him and them with fire, that there be no wickednes among you.
15 Et si un homme couche avec une bête, il sera certainement mis à mort; et vous tuerez la bête.
Also the man that lyeth with a beast, shall dye the death, and ye shall slay the beast.
16 Et si une femme s’approche d’une bête, quelle qu’elle soit, pour se prostituer à elle, tu tueras la femme et la bête; elles seront certainement mises à mort: leur sang est sur elles.
And if a woman come to any beast, and lye therewith, then thou shalt kill the woman and the beast: they shall die the death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
17 Et si un homme prend sa sœur, fille de son père, ou fille de sa mère, et voit sa nudité, et qu’elle voie sa nudité à lui, c’est une honte: ils seront retranchés devant les yeux des fils de leur peuple; il a découvert la nudité de sa sœur, il portera son iniquité.
Also the man that taketh his sister, his fathers daughter, or his mothers daughter, and seeth her shame and she seeth his shame, it is villenie: therefore they shall be cut off in the sight of their people, because he hath vncouered his sisters shame, he shall beare his iniquitie.
18 Et si un homme couche avec une femme qui a son infirmité, et découvre sa nudité, il met à découvert son flux, et elle découvre le flux de son sang: ils seront tous deux retranchés du milieu de leur peuple.
The man also that lyeth with a woman hauing her disease, and vncouereth her shame, and openeth her fountaine, and she open the foutaine of her blood, they shall bee euen both cut off from among their people.
19 Et tu ne découvriras point la nudité de la sœur de ta mère, ni de la sœur de ton père; car celui qui fait cela met à nu sa propre chair: ils porteront leur iniquité.
Moreouer thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy mothers sister, nor of thy fathers sister: because he hath vncouered his kin, they shall beare their iniquitie.
20 Et si un homme couche avec sa tante, il découvre la nudité de son oncle; ils porteront leur péché: ils mourront sans enfants.
Likewise the man that lyeth with his fathers brothers wife, and vncouereth his vncles shame: they shall beare their iniquitie, and shall die childlesse.
21 Et si un homme prend la femme de son frère, c’est une impureté; il découvre la nudité de son frère: ils n’auront pas d’enfants.
So the man that taketh his brothers wife, committeth filthines, because he hath vncouered his brothers shame: they shalbe childles.
22 Et vous garderez tous mes statuts et toutes mes ordonnances, et vous les ferez; afin que le pays où je vous fais entrer pour y habiter ne vous vomisse pas.
Ye shall keepe therefore all mine ordinances and all my iudgements, and doe them, that the land, whither I bring you to dwel therein, spue you not out.
23 Et vous ne marcherez point dans les statuts de la nation que je chasse devant vous; car ils ont fait toutes ces choses-là, et je les ai eus en abomination;
Wherefore ye shall not walke in the maners of this nation which I cast out before you: for they haue committed all these things, therefore I abhorred them.
24 et je vous ai dit: C’est vous qui posséderez leur terre, et je vous la donnerai pour la posséder, un pays ruisselant de lait et de miel. Moi, je suis l’Éternel, votre Dieu, qui vous ai séparés des peuples.
But I haue saide vnto you, ye shall inherite their land, and I will giue it vnto you to possesse it, euen a land that floweth with milke and honie: I am the Lord your God, which haue separated you from other people.
25 Et vous discernerez entre la bête pure et l’impure, et entre l’oiseau impur et le pur, et vous ne vous rendrez point abominables par des bêtes, ou par des oiseaux, ou par tout ce qui rampe sur la terre, que j’ai séparé, le déclarant impur.
Therefore shall ye put difference betweene cleane beastes and vncleane, and betweene vncleane foules and cleane: neither shall ye defile your selues with beastes and foules, nor with any creeping thing, that ye ground bringeth forth, which I haue separated from you as vncleane.
26 Et vous me serez saints, car je suis saint, moi, l’Éternel; et je vous ai séparés des peuples, pour être à moi.
Therefore shall ye be holie vnto me: for I the Lord am holy, and I haue separated you from other people, that ye shoulde be mine.
27 Et si un homme ou une femme sont évocateurs d’esprits, ou diseurs de bonne aventure, ils seront certainement mis à mort; on les lapidera avec des pierres: leur sang sera sur eux.
And if a man or woman haue a spirite of diuination, or soothsaying in them, they shall die the death: they shall stone them to death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
