Jérémie 1
1 Paroles de Jérémie, fils de Hilkija, d’entre les sacrificateurs qui étaient à Anathoth, dans le pays de Benjamin,
The wordes of Ieremiah the sonne of Hilkiah one of the Priests that were at Anathoth in the lande of Beniamin.
2 auquel vint la parole de l’Éternel, dans les jours de Josias, fils d’Amon, roi de Juda, la treizième année de son règne;
To whom the worde of the Lord came in the dayes of Iosiah the sonne of Amon King of Iudah in the thirteenth yeere of his reigne:
3 elle vint aussi [à lui] dans les jours de Jehoïakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, jusqu’à la fin de la onzième année de Sédécias, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, jusqu’à ce que Jérusalem fut emmenée en captivité, au cinquième mois.
And also in the dayes of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah vnto the ende of the eleuenth yeere of Zedekiah, the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah, euen vnto the carying away of Ierusalem captiue in the fift moneth.
4 Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant:
Then the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
5 Avant que je te forme dans le ventre [de ta mère], je t’ai connu, et avant que tu sortes de [son] sein, je t’ai sanctifié, je t’ai établi prophète pour les nations.
Before I formed thee in the wombe, I knewe thee, and before thou camest out of the wombe, I sanctified thee, and ordeined thee to be a Prophet vnto the nations.
6 Et je dis: Ah, Seigneur Éternel! voici, je ne sais pas parler; car je suis un enfant.
Then said I, Oh, Lord God, behold, I can not speake, for I am a childe.
7 Et l’Éternel me dit: Ne dis pas: Je suis un enfant, car pour tout ce pour quoi je t’enverrai, tu iras, et tout ce que je te commanderai, tu le diras.
But the Lord said vnto me, Say not, I am a childe: for thou shalt goe to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoeuer I command thee, shalt thou speake.
8 Ne les crains point; car je suis avec toi pour te délivrer, dit l’Éternel.
Be not afraide of their faces: for I am with thee to deliuer thee, saith the Lord.
9 Et l’Éternel étendit sa main, et toucha ma bouche; et l’Éternel me dit: Voici, j’ai mis mes paroles dans ta bouche.
Then the Lord stretched out his hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said vnto me, Beholde, I haue put my wordes in thy mouth.
10 Regarde, je t’ai établi ce jour-ci sur les nations et sur les royaumes, pour arracher, et pour démolir, et pour détruire, et pour renverser, pour bâtir et pour planter.
Beholde, this day haue I set thee ouer the nations and ouer the kingdomes to plucke vp, and to roote out, and to destroye and throwe downe, to builde, and to plant.
11 Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant: Que vois-tu, Jérémie? Et je dis: Je vois un bâton d’amandier.
After this the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying, Ieremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almonde tree.
12 Et l’Éternel me dit: Tu as bien vu, car je veille sur ma parole pour l’exécuter.
Then saide the Lord vnto me, Thou hast seene aright: for I will hasten my worde to performe it.
13 Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi une seconde fois, disant: Que vois-tu? Et je dis: Je vois un pot bouillant, dont le devant est du côté du nord.
Againe the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I saide, I see a seething pot looking out of the North.
14 Et l’Éternel me dit: Du nord le mal fondra sur tous les habitants du pays.
Then saide the Lord vnto me, Out of the North shall a plague be spred vpon all the inhabitants of the land.
15 Car voici, j’appelle toutes les familles des royaumes du nord, dit l’Éternel, et elles viendront, et mettront chacune son trône à l’entrée des portes de Jérusalem, et contre toutes ses murailles à l’entour, et contre toutes les villes de Juda.
For loe, I will call all the families of the kingdomes of the North, saith the Lord, and they shall come, and euery one shall set his throne in the entring of the gates of Ierusalem, and on all the walles thereof rounde about, and in all the cities of Iudah.
16 Et je prononcerai contre eux mes jugements, à cause de toute leur iniquité par laquelle ils m’ont abandonné, et ont brûlé de l’encens à d’autres dieux, et se sont prosternés devant l’ouvrage de leurs mains.
And I will declare vnto them my iudgements touching all the wickednesse of them that haue forsaken me, and haue burnt incense vnto other gods, and worshipped the workes of their owne handes.
17 Et toi, ceins tes reins, et lève-toi, et dis-leur tout ce que je te commanderai; ne sois point effrayé d’eux, de peur que moi je ne t’épouvante devant eux.
Thou therefore trusse vp thy loynes, and arise and speake vnto them all that I commaund thee: be not afraide of their faces, lest I destroy thee before them.
18 Et moi, voici, je t’établis aujourd’hui comme une ville forte, et comme une colonne de fer, et comme des murailles d’airain, contre tout le pays, contre les rois de Juda, ses princes, ses sacrificateurs, et le peuple du pays.
For I, beholde, I this day haue made thee a defenced citie, and an yron pillar and walles of brasse against the whole lande, against the Kings of Iudah, and against the princes thereof, against the Priestes thereof and against the people of the lande.
19 Et ils combattront contre toi, mais ils ne prévaudront pas sur toi, car moi je suis avec toi, dit l’Éternel, pour te délivrer.
For they shall fight against thee, but they shall not preuaile against thee: for I am with thee to deliuer thee, sayth the Lord.
