Isaïe 41
1 Faites silence devant moi, îles; et que les peuples renouvellent leur force! Qu’ils s’approchent; … alors, qu’ils parlent! Approchons ensemble en jugement!
Be silent to me O islands and peoples let them renew strength let them approach then let them speak together for judgment let us draw near.
2 Qui, du levant, réveilla [celui] dont la justice accompagne les pas? Il livra les nations devant lui, et lui soumit les rois; il les livra à son épée comme de la poussière, et à son arc comme du chaume chassé [par le vent].
Who? has he stirred up from [the] east righteousness he calls him to foot his he delivers up before him nations and kings he subdues he makes [them] like dust sword his like chaff driven about bow his.
3 Il les poursuivit; il passa en sûreté par un chemin où il n’était pas allé de ses pieds.
He pursues them he passes on peace a path with feet his not he comes.
4 Qui a opéré et fait [cela], appelant les générations dès le commencement? Moi, l’Éternel, le premier; et, avec les derniers, je suis le Même.
Who? has he done [it] and has he accomplished [it]? calling forth the generations from [the] beginning I Yahweh [am] first and with [the] last I [am] he.
5 Les îles le virent et eurent peur, les bouts de la terre tremblèrent: ils s’approchèrent et vinrent;
They have seen islands so they may be afraid [the] ends of the earth they tremble they have drawn near and they have come!
6 ils s’entraidèrent l’un l’autre, et [chacun] dit à son frère: Sois fort.
Each neighbor his they help and to brother his he says be strong.
7 Et l’ouvrier fortifiait le fondeur; celui qui polit au marteau [fortifiait] celui qui frappe sur l’enclume, disant de la soudure: Elle est bonne; … et il l’a affermi avec des clous, afin qu’il ne branle pas.
And he encouraged a craftsman a metalsmith a smoother of a hammer a striker of an anvil saying of the soldering [is] good it and he strengthened it with nails not it will be shaken.
8 Et toi, Israël, mon serviteur, Jacob, que j’ai choisi, semence d’Abraham mon ami,
And you O Israel servant my Jacob whom I have chosen you [the] offspring of Abraham friend my.
9 toi que j’ai pris des bouts de la terre et appelé de ses extrémités, et à qui j’ai dit: Tu es mon serviteur, je t’ai choisi et je ne t’ai pas rejeté; …
Whom I took hold of you from [the] ends of the earth and from remotest parts its I called you and I said to you [are] servant my you I have chosen you and not I have rejected you.
10 ne crains point, car je suis avec toi; ne sois pas inquiet, car moi je suis ton Dieu. Je te fortifierai; oui, je t’aiderai; oui, je te soutiendrai par la droite de ma justice.
May not you be afraid for [am] with you I may not you fear for I [am] God your I have strengthened you also I have helped you also I have supported you with [the] right [hand] of righteousness my.
11 Voici, tous ceux qui s’irritent contre toi, seront honteux et confondus; ils seront comme un rien, et les hommes qui contestent contre toi périront.
There! they will be ashamed and they may be put to shame all those [who] are angry with you they will be as nothing so they may perish [the] people of strife your.
12 Tu les chercheras, et tu ne les trouveras pas, les hommes qui ont querelle avec toi; ils seront comme un rien et comme néant, les hommes qui te font la guerre.
You will seek them and not you will find them [the] people of strife your they will be as nothing and as nothing [the] people of warfare your.
13 Car moi, l’Éternel, ton Dieu, je tiens ta droite, [moi] qui te dis: Ne crains point, moi je t’aiderai.
For I [am] Yahweh God your [who] takes hold of right [hand] your who says to you may not you be afraid I I will help you.
14 Ne crains point, toi Jacob, vermisseau! [et vous], hommes d’Israël! Moi je t’aiderai, dit l’Éternel, et ton rédempteur, le Saint d’Israël.
May not you be afraid O worm of Jacob O men of Israel I I will help you [the] utterance of Yahweh and [is] redeemer your [the] holy [one] of Israel.
15 Voici, j’ai fait de toi un traîneau à battre, tranchant, neuf, à doubles dents: tu battras les montagnes et tu les réduiras en poussière, et tu rendras les collines comme de la balle;
Here! I will make you a threshing-sledge sharp new an owner of teeth you will thresh mountains so you may crush [them] and hills like chaff you will make.
16 tu les vanneras, et le vent les emportera, et le tourbillon les dispersera; et toi, tu t’égaieras en l’Éternel, tu te glorifieras dans le Saint d’Israël.
You will winnow them and a wind it will carry away them and a tempest it will scatter them and you you will be glad in Yahweh in [the] holy [one] of Israel you will boast.
17 Les affligés et les nécessiteux chercheront de l’eau, et il n’y en a pas, leur langue est desséchée par la soif: moi, l’Éternel, je leur répondrai, [moi], le Dieu d’Israël, je ne les abandonnerai pas.
The poor [people] and the needy [people] [are] seeking water and there not tongue their with thirst it is dry I Yahweh I will answer them [the] God of Israel not I will forsake them.
18 Je ferai couler des rivières sur les hauteurs, et des fontaines au milieu des vallées; je changerai le désert en un étang d’eau, et la terre aride en des sources jaillissantes.
I will open on bare heights rivers and in [the] middle of valleys springs I will make [the] wilderness a pool of water and a land dry springs of water.
19 Je ferai croître dans le désert le cèdre, l’acacia, et le myrte, et l’olivier; je mettrai dans le lieu stérile le cyprès, le pin et le buis ensemble;
I will put in the wilderness cedar[s] acacia tree[s] and myrtle tree[s] and tree[s] of oil I will set in the desert plain cypress[es] elm[s] and box tree[s] together.
20 afin qu’ils voient, et qu’ils sachent, et qu’ils considèrent, et qu’ils comprennent tous ensemble, que la main de l’Éternel a fait cela, et que le Saint d’Israël l’a créé.
So that they may see so they may know so they may set so they may have insight all together that [the] hand of Yahweh it has done this and [the] holy [one] of Israel he has created it.
21 Produisez votre cause, dit l’Éternel; apportez ici vos arguments, dit le roi de Jacob.
Bring near case your he says Yahweh bring near arguments your he says [the] king of Jacob.
22 Qu’ils les apportent, et qu’ils nous déclarent ce qui arrivera. Déclarez les premières choses, ce qu’elles sont, afin que nous [y] fassions attention, et que nous en connaissions le résultat; ou faites-nous savoir celles qui viendront;
Let them bring [them] near and they may tell to us [the things] which they will happen the former [things] - what? [were] they tell so let us take [them] heart our so we may know end their or the coming [things] proclaim to us.
23 – déclarez les choses qui vont arriver dans la suite, et nous saurons que vous êtes des dieux; oui, faites du bien et faites du mal, afin que nous le considérions et le voyions ensemble.
Tell the [things] coming to afterwards so let us know that [are] gods you also you will do good and you may do harm and let us fear (so let us see *Q(K)*) altogether.
24 Voici, vous êtes moins que rien, et votre œuvre est du néant: qui vous choisit est une abomination…
Here! you [are] from nothing and work your [is] from something worthless [is] an abomination [one who] he chooses you.
25 Je l’ai réveillé du nord, et il vient, – du lever du soleil, celui qui invoquera mon nom. Et il marchera sur les princes comme sur de la boue, et comme le potier foule l’argile.
I have stirred up from [the] north and he has come from [the] rising of [the] sun he will call on name my so he may come officials like mud and like a potter [who] he tramples clay.
26 Qui l’a déclaré dès le commencement, afin que nous le sachions, et d’avance, afin que nous disions: C’est juste? Non, il n’y a personne qui le déclare; non, personne qui le fasse entendre; non, personne qui entende vos paroles.
Who? did he tell [it] from [the] beginning so we may know and from before so we may say correct also there not [was one who] told also there not [was one who] proclaimed also there not [was one who] heard words your.
27 Le premier, [j’ai dit] à Sion: Voici, les voici! et à Jérusalem: Je donnerai un messager de bonnes nouvelles!
A first [one] to Zion here! here [are] they and to Jerusalem a bearer of news I gave.
28 Et j’ai regardé, et il n’y avait personne – même parmi eux – et point de conseiller, pour leur demander, et avoir d’eux une réponse.
And [when] I may look and there not [is] a person and from these and there not [is] a counselor and I will ask them and they may bring back a word.
29 Voici, tous sont la vanité, leurs œuvres sont un néant, leurs images de fonte sont le vent et le vide.
There! all of them [are] deception [are] nothing deeds their [are] a wind and emptiness molten images their.
