Isaïe 20

1 L’année où le Tharthan vint à Asdod, quand Sargon, roi d’Assyrie, l’envoya (et il fit la guerre contre Asdod et la prit):

In the year that Tartan entered Ashdod, when Sargon king of Assyria, sent him, —and he fought against Ashdod and captured it, —

2 en ce temps-là, l’Éternel parla par Ésaïe, fils d’Amots, disant: Va, ôte le sac de dessus tes reins, et détache ta sandale de ton pied. Et il fit ainsi, marchant nu et nu-pieds.

At that time, spake Yahweh, through Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, Go, and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, And thy sandal, draw thou off from thy foot, —And he did so, walking disrobed and barefoot.

3 Et l’Éternel dit: Comme mon serviteur Ésaïe a marché nu et nu-pieds trois années, [pour être] un signe et un symbole à l’égard de l’Égypte et de l’Éthiopie,

Then said Yahweh, —As my servant Isaiah, hath walked, disrobed and barefoot three years as a sign and a wonder against Egypt and against Ethiopia,

4 ainsi le roi d’Assyrie mènera les captifs de l’Égypte et les transportés de l’Éthiopie, jeunes et vieux, nus et nu-pieds et leurs hanches découvertes, à la honte de l’Égypte.

So, shall the king of Assyria lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Ethiopia young and old disrobed and barefoot, with their persons behind Uncovered the shame of Egypt.

5 – Et ils seront terrifiés, et auront honte de l’Éthiopie, leur confiance, et de l’Égypte, leur orgueil.

Thus shall they be confounded and turn pale, —For Ethiopia, their expectation, and For Egypt their boast;

6 Et l’habitant de cette côte dira en ce jour-là: Voilà notre confiance, ceux vers qui nous avons couru pour avoir du secours, pour être délivrés de devant le roi d’Assyrie! et nous, comment échapperons-nous?

And the inhabitant of this shore, shall exclaim, in that day, Lo! such, is our expectation, whereunto we fled for help, that we might be delivered from the presence of the king of Assyria! How then shall, we, escape?
