Osée 14
1 Israël, reviens à l’Éternel, ton Dieu, car tu es tombé par ton iniquité.
Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled by your iniquity.
2 Prenez avec vous des paroles, et revenez à l’Éternel; dites-lui: Pardonne toute iniquité, et accepte ce qui est bon, et nous [te] rendrons les sacrifices de nos lèvres.
Bring your confessions and return to the LORD. Say to Him: “Take away all our iniquity and receive us graciously, that we may present the fruit of our lips.
3 L’Assyrie ne nous sauvera pas; nous ne monterons pas sur des chevaux, et nous ne dirons plus: Notre Dieu, à l’œuvre de nos mains; car, auprès de toi, l’orphelin trouve la miséricorde.
Assyria will not save us, nor will we ride on horses. We will never again say, ‘Our gods!’ to the work of our own hands. For in You the fatherless find compassion.”
4 Je guérirai leur abandon [de moi], je les aimerai librement, car ma colère s’est détournée d’eux.
I will heal their apostasy; I will freely love them, for My anger has turned away from them.
5 Je serai pour Israël comme la rosée; il fleurira comme le lis, et il poussera ses racines comme le Liban.
I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like the lily and take root like the cedars of Lebanon.
6 Ses rejetons s’étendront, et sa magnificence sera comme l’olivier, et son parfum, comme le Liban:
His shoots will sprout, and his splendor will be like the olive tree, his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon.
7 ils reviendront s’asseoir sous son ombre, ils feront vivre le froment, et ils fleuriront comme une vigne; leur renommée sera comme le vin du Liban.
They will return and dwell in his shade; they will grow grain and blossom like the vine. His renown will be like the wine of Lebanon.
8 Éphraïm [dira]: Qu’ai-je plus à faire avec les idoles? – Moi, je lui répondrai et je le regarderai. – Moi, je suis comme un cyprès vert. – De moi provient ton fruit.
O Ephraim, what have I to do anymore with idols? It is I who answer and watch over him. I am like a flourishing cypress; your fruit comes from Me.
9 Qui est sage? il comprendra ces choses; et intelligent? il les connaîtra; car les voies de l’Éternel sont droites, et les justes y marcheront, mais les transgresseurs y tomberont.
Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them. For the ways of the LORD are right, and the righteous walk in them but the rebellious stumble in them.
