Osée 13
1 Quand Éphraïm parlait, c’était une terreur; il s’éleva en Israël: mais il se rendit coupable par Baal, et mourut.
For Effraym spak, hidousnesse assailide Israel; and he trespasside in Baal, and was deed.
2 Et maintenant ils continuent de pécher et se sont fait avec leur argent des images de fonte, des idoles selon leurs pensées, toutes un travail d’artisans, desquelles ils disent: Que les hommes qui sacrifient embrassent les veaux!
And now thei addiden to do synne, and maden to hem a yotun ymage of her siluer, as the licnesse of idols; al is the makyng of crafti men. To these thei seien, A! ye men, offre, and worschipe caluys.
3 C’est pourquoi ils seront comme la nuée du matin et comme la rosée qui s’en va de bonne heure, comme la balle chassée par le tourbillon hors de l’aire, et comme la fumée qui sort par le treillis.
Therfor thei schulen be as a morewtid cloude, and as the deew of morewtid, that passith forth, as dust rauyschide bi whirlewynd fro the corn floor, and as smoke of a chymenei.
4 Et moi, je suis l’Éternel, ton Dieu, dès le pays d’Égypte; et tu n’as pas connu d’[autre] Dieu que moi, et il n’y a pas de sauveur hors moi.
Forsothe Y am thi Lord God, `that ledde thee fro the loond of Egipt; and thou schalt not knowe God, outakun me, and no sauyour is, outakun me.
5 Moi, je t’ai connu dans le désert, dans une terre aride.
Y knewe thee in the desert, in the lond of wildirnesse.
6 Selon qu’étaient leurs pâturages, ils furent rassasiés; ils furent rassasiés, et leur cœur s’éleva; c’est pourquoi ils m’ont oublié.
Bi her lesewis thei weren fillid, and hadden abundaunce; thei reisiden her herte, and foryaten me.
7 Et je leur serai comme un lion; comme un léopard, je les guetterai sur le chemin.
And Y schal be as a lionesse to hem, as a parde in the weye of Assiriens.
8 Je les attaquerai comme une ourse privée de ses petits; je déchirerai l’enveloppe de leur cœur, et je les dévorerai là, comme une lionne; les bêtes des champs les dépèceront.
Y as a femal bere, whanne the whelps ben rauyschid, schal mete hem; and schal al to-breke the ynnere thingis of the mawe of hem. And Y as a lioun schal waaste hem there; a beeste of the feeld schal al to-rende hem.
9 C’est ta destruction, Israël, que tu aies été contre moi, contre ton secours.
Israel, thi perdicioun is of thee; thin help is oneli of me.
10 Où donc est ton roi? pour qu’il te sauve dans toutes tes villes. Où sont tes juges, dont tu as dit: Donne-moi un roi et des princes?…
Where is thi kyng? moost saue he thee now in alle thi citees; and where ben thi iugis, of whiche thou seidist, Yyue thou to me a kyng, and princes?
11 Je t’ai donné un roi dans ma colère, et je l’ai ôté dans ma fureur.
Y schal yyue to thee a kyng in my strong veniaunce, and Y schal take awei in myn indignacioun.
12 L’iniquité d’Éphraïm est liée ensemble; son péché est tenu en réserve.
The wickidnesse of Effraym is boundun togidere; his synne is hid.
13 Les douleurs de celle qui enfante viendront sur lui. C’est un fils qui n’est pas sensé, car au temps de la sortie des enfants, il ne se tint pas là.
The sorewis of a womman trauelynge of child schulen come to hym; he is a sone not wijs. For now he schal not stonde in the defoulyng of sones.
14 Je les délivrerai de la main du shéol, je les rachèterai de la mort. Ô mort, où sont tes pestes? Ô shéol, où est ta destruction? Le repentir est caché à mes yeux. (Sheol h7585)
Y schal delyuere hem fro the hoond of deeth, and Y schal ayenbie hem fro deth. Thou deth, Y schal be thi deth; thou helle, Y schal be thi mussel. (Sheol h7585)
15 Car il a porté du fruit parmi [ses] frères: un vent d’orient viendra, le vent de l’Éternel qui monte du désert, et il desséchera ses sources et fera tarir ses fontaines. Il pillera le trésor de tous les objets d’agrément.
Coumfort is hid fro myn iyen, for he schal departe bitwixe britheren. The Lord schal brynge a brennynge wynd, stiynge fro desert; and it schal make drie the veynes therof, and it schal make desolat the welle therof; and he schal rauysche the tresour of ech desirable vessel.
16 Samarie portera son iniquité, car elle s’est révoltée contre son Dieu; ils tomberont par l’épée, leurs petits enfants seront écrasés, et on fendra le ventre à leurs femmes enceintes.
Samarie perische, for it stiride his God to bittirnesse; perische it bi swerd. The litle children of hem be hurtlid doun, and the wymmen with child therof be koruun.
