Genèse 48
1 Et il arriva après ces choses, qu’on dit à Joseph: Voici, ton père est malade. Et il prit avec lui ses deux fils, Manassé et Éphraïm.
And it was after the things these and someone said to Joseph there! father your [is] sick and he took [the] two sons his with him Manasseh and Ephraim.
2 Et on avertit Jacob, et on dit: Voici, ton fils Joseph vient vers toi. Et Israël rassembla ses forces, et s’assit sur le lit.
And someone told to Jacob and he said here! son your Joseph he has come to you and he strengthened himself Israel and he sat on the bed.
3 Et Jacob dit à Joseph: Le Dieu Tout-puissant m’est apparu à Luz, dans le pays de Canaan, et il m’a béni,
And he said Jacob to Joseph God Almighty he appeared to me at Luz in [the] land of Canaan and he blessed me.
4 et m’a dit: Voici, je te ferai fructifier et je te multiplierai, et je te ferai devenir une assemblée de peuples, et je donnerai ce pays à ta semence, après toi, en possession perpétuelle.
And he said to me here I [am] about to make fruitful you and I will multiply you and I will make you a company of peoples and I will give the land this to offspring your after you a possession of perpetuity.
5 Et maintenant, tes deux fils qui te sont nés dans le pays d’Égypte, avant que je vienne vers toi en Égypte, sont à moi: Éphraïm et Manassé sont à moi comme Ruben et Siméon.
And now [the] two sons your who were born to you in [the] land of Egypt until came I to you Egypt towards [belong] to me they Ephraim and Manasseh like Reuben and Simeon they will be[long] to me.
6 Et tes enfants que tu as engendrés après eux seront à toi; ils seront appelés d’après le nom de leurs frères, dans leur héritage.
And offspring your whom you have fathered after them to you they will be[long] on [the] name of brothers their they will be called in inheritance their.
7 Et moi, … comme je venais de Paddan, Rachel mourut auprès de moi, dans le pays de Canaan, en chemin, comme il y avait encore quelque espace de pays pour arriver à Éphrath; et je l’enterrai là, sur le chemin d’Éphrath, qui est Bethléhem.
And I - when came I from Paddan she died on me Rachel in [the] land of Canaan on the journey at yet a distance of land to go Ephrathah and I buried her there on [the] journey of Ephrath that [is] Beth-lehem.
8 Et Israël vit les fils de Joseph, et il dit: Qui sont ceux-ci?
And he saw Israel [the] sons of Joseph and he said who? [are] these.
9 Et Joseph dit à son père: Ce sont mes fils, que Dieu m’a donnés ici. Et il dit: Amène-les-moi, je te prie, et je les bénirai.
And he said Joseph to father his [are] sons my they whom he has given to me God in this [place] and he said fetch them please to me so I may bless them.
10 Or les yeux d’Israël étaient appesantis de vieillesse; il ne pouvait voir. Et [Joseph] les fit approcher de lui, et il leur donna un baiser et les embrassa.
And [the] eyes of Israel they were heavy from old age not he was able to see and he brought near them to him and he kissed them and he embraced them.
11 Et Israël dit à Joseph: Je n’avais pas pensé voir ton visage; et voici, Dieu m’a fait voir aussi ta semence.
And he said Israel to Joseph to see face your not I judged and here! he has shown me God also offspring your.
12 Et Joseph les retira d’entre ses genoux, et se prosterna le visage contre terre.
And he took Joseph them from with knees his and he bowed down to face his [the] ground towards.
13 Et Joseph les prit les deux, Éphraïm de sa main droite, à la gauche d’Israël, et Manassé de sa main gauche, à la droite d’Israël, et les fit approcher de lui;
And he took Joseph [the] two of them Ephraim at right [hand] his from [the] left of Israel and Manasseh at left [hand] his from [the] right of Israel and he brought [them] near to him.
14 mais Israël étendit sa main droite, et la posa sur la tête d’Éphraïm (or il était le plus jeune), et sa main gauche sur la tête de Manassé, plaçant ainsi ses mains à dessein, car Manassé était le premier-né.
And he stretched out Israel right [hand] his and he put [it] on [the] head of Ephraim and he [was] the young and left [hand] his on [the] head of Manasseh he laid cross-wise hands his for Manasseh [was] the firstborn.
15 Et il bénit Joseph, et dit: Que le Dieu devant la face duquel ont marché mes pères, Abraham et Isaac, le Dieu qui a été mon berger depuis que je suis jusqu’à ce jour,
And he blessed Joseph and he said God whom they walked about fathers my before him Abraham and Isaac God who shepherded me from duration my until the day this.
16 l’Ange qui m’a délivré de tout mal, bénisse ces jeunes hommes; et qu’ils soient appelés de mon nom et du nom de mes pères, Abraham et Isaac, et qu’ils croissent pour être une multitude au milieu du pays.
The angel who has redeemed me from all harm may he bless the lads and may it be called in them name my and [the] name of fathers my Abraham and Isaac and may they multiply to abundance in [the] midst of the earth.
17 Et Joseph vit que son père posait sa main droite sur la tête d’Éphraïm, et cela fut mauvais à ses yeux; et il saisit la main de son père pour la détourner de dessus la tête d’Éphraïm [et la poser] sur la tête de Manassé.
And he saw Joseph that he will put father his [the] hand of right his on [the] head of Ephraim and it was displeasing in view his and he grasped [the] hand of father his to remove it from on [the] head of Ephraim on [the] head of Manasseh.
18 Et Joseph dit à son père: Pas ainsi, mon père; car celui-ci est le premier-né; mets ta main droite sur sa tête.
And he said Joseph to father his not thus O father my for this [is] the firstborn put right [hand] your on head his.
19 Et son père refusa, disant: Je le sais, mon fils, je le sais; lui aussi deviendra un peuple, et lui aussi sera grand; toutefois son frère, qui est le plus jeune, sera plus grand que lui, et sa semence sera une plénitude de nations.
And he refused father his and he said I know O son my I know also he he will become a people and also he he will become great and but brother his young he will become great more than him and offspring his it will be [the] fullness of the nations.
20 Et il les bénit ce jour-là, disant: En toi Israël bénira, disant: Dieu te rende tel qu’Éphraïm et que Manassé! Et il mit Éphraïm avant Manassé.
And he blessed them on the day that saying by you it will bless Israel saying may he make you God like Ephraim and like Manasseh and he put Ephraim before Manasseh.
21 Et Israël dit à Joseph: Voici, je meurs; et Dieu sera avec vous, et vous fera retourner dans le pays de vos pères.
And he said Israel to Joseph here! I [am] about to die and he will be God with you and he will bring back you to [the] land of fathers your.
22 Et moi, je te donne, de plus qu’à tes frères, une portion que j’ai prise de la main de l’Amoréen avec mon épée et mon arc.
And I I give to you a shoulder one over brothers your which I took from [the] hand of the Amorite[s] by sword my and by bow my.
