Genèse 31
1 Et il entendit les paroles des fils de Laban, qui disaient: Jacob a pris tout ce qui était à notre père; et c’est avec ce qui était à notre père qu’il s’est fait toute cette gloire.
And he heard [the] words of [the] sons of Laban saying he has taken Jacob all that [belonged] to father our and from [that] which [belonged] to father our he has acquired all the abundance this.
2 Et Jacob regarda le visage de Laban; et voici, il n’était pas envers lui comme auparavant.
And he saw Jacob [the] face of Laban and there! not [was] he with him as yesterday three days ago.
3 Et l’Éternel dit à Jacob: Retourne au pays de tes pères et vers ta parenté, et je serai avec toi.
And he said Yahweh to Jacob return to [the] land of fathers your and to kindred your so I may be with you.
4 Et Jacob envoya, et appela Rachel et Léa aux champs, vers son troupeau;
And he sent Jacob and he summoned Rachel and Leah the field to flock his.
5 et il leur dit: Je vois le visage de votre père, qu’il n’est pas envers moi comme auparavant; mais le Dieu de mon père a été avec moi.
And he said to them [am] seeing I [the] face of father your that not [is] he to me as yesterday three days ago and [the] God of father my he has been with me.
6 Et vous savez vous-mêmes que j’ai servi votre père de toute ma force.
And you you know that with all strength my I have served father your.
7 Et votre père s’est moqué de moi, et a changé dix fois mon salaire; mais Dieu ne lui a pas permis de me faire du mal.
And father your he has deceived me and he has changed wage[s] my ten times and not he has permitted him God to do harm with me.
8 S’il disait ainsi: Les marquetés seront ton salaire, alors tout le bétail faisait des marquetés. Et s’il disait ainsi: Les rayés seront ton salaire, alors tout le bétail faisait des rayés.
If thus he said speckled [ones] it will be wage[s] your and they bore all the flock speckled [ones] and if thus he said striped [ones] it will be wage[s] your and they bore all the flock striped [ones].
9 Et Dieu a ôté le troupeau de votre père et me l’a donné.
And he has taken away God [the] livestock of father your and he has given [it] to me.
10 Et il arriva, au temps où le bétail entrait en chaleur, que je levai mes yeux, et je vis en songe, et voici, les boucs qui couvraient le menu bétail étaient rayés, marquetés, et picotés de blanc.
And it was at [the] time mated the flock and I lifted up eyes my and I saw in a dream and there! the male goats which were going up on the flock [were] striped speckled and mottled.
11 Et l’Ange de Dieu me dit en songe: Jacob! Et je dis: Me voici.
And he said to me [the] angel of God in a dream O Jacob and I said here [am] I.
12 Et il dit: Lève tes yeux, et vois: tous les boucs qui couvrent le menu bétail sont rayés, marquetés, et picotés de blanc; car j’ai vu tout ce que t’a fait Laban.
And he said lift up please eyes your and see all the male goats which are going up on the flock [are] striped speckled and mottled for I have seen all that Laban [is] doing to you.
13 Je suis le Dieu de Béthel, où tu oignis une stèle, où tu me fis un vœu. Maintenant, lève-toi, sors de ce pays, et retourne au pays de ta parenté.
I [am] the God of Beth-el where you anointed there a pillar where you vowed to me there a vow now arise go out from the land this and return to [the] land of kindred your.
14 Et Rachel et Léa répondirent et lui dirent: Avons-nous encore une portion et un héritage dans la maison de notre père?
And she answered Rachel and Leah and they said to him ¿ still [belong] to us [does] a share and an inheritance in [the] household of father our.
15 N’avons-nous pas été réputées par lui des étrangères? car il nous a vendues, et a même toujours mangé notre argent.
¿ Not foreigners are we accounted by him for he has sold us and he has consumed also continuously money our.
16 Car toutes les richesses que Dieu a ôtées à notre père sont à nous et à nos enfants. Et maintenant, fais tout ce que Dieu t’a dit.
For all the wealth which he has taken away God from father our [belongs] to us it and to children our and therefore all that he has said God to you do.
17 Et Jacob se leva, et fit monter ses fils et ses femmes sur les chameaux;
And he arose Jacob and he lifted up children his and wives his on camels.
18 et il emmena tous ses troupeaux et tout son bien qu’il avait acquis, les troupeaux qu’il possédait, qu’il avait acquis à Paddan-Aram, pour aller vers Isaac, son père, au pays de Canaan.
And he drove all livestock his and all possession[s] his which he had accumulated [the] livestock of acquisition his which he had accumulated in Paddan Aram to go to Isaac father his [the] land of towards Canaan.
19 Et Laban était allé tondre son menu bétail, et Rachel vola les théraphim qui étaient à son père.
And Laban he had gone to shear sheep his and she stole Rachel the teraphim which [belonged] to father her.
20 Et Jacob trompa Laban, l’Araméen, car il ne lui apprit pas qu’il s’enfuyait.
And he stole Jacob [the] heart of Laban the Aramean on not he told to him that [was] fleeing he.
21 Et il s’enfuit, lui, et tout ce qui était à lui; et il se leva, et passa le fleuve, et dressa sa face vers la montagne de Galaad.
And he fled he and all that [belonged] to him and he arose and he passed over the river and he set face his [the] hill country of Gilead.
22 Et le troisième jour on rapporta à Laban que Jacob s’était enfui.
And it was told to Laban on the day third that he had fled Jacob.
23 Et il prit ses frères avec lui, et le poursuivit le chemin de sept jours, et l’atteignit à la montagne de Galaad.
And he took relatives his with him and he pursued after him a journey of seven days and he overtook him in [the] hill country of Gilead.
24 Et Dieu vint vers Laban, l’Araméen, dans un songe, la nuit, et lui dit: Garde-toi de parler à Jacob, ni en bien, ni en mal.
And he came God to Laban the Aramean in [the] dream of the night and he said to him take heed to yourself lest you should speak with Jacob from good unto bad.
25 Et Laban atteignit Jacob; et Jacob avait dressé sa tente sur la montagne; et Laban dressa [la sienne] avec ses frères, sur la montagne de Galaad.
And he overtook Laban Jacob and Jacob he had pitched tent his in the hill country and Laban he pitched tent with relatives his in [the] hill country of Gilead.
26 Et Laban dit à Jacob: Qu’as-tu fait de m’avoir trompé, et d’avoir emmené mes filles comme des captives de guerre.
And he said Laban to Jacob what? have you done and you have stolen heart my and you have led away daughters my like captives of [the] sword.
27 Pourquoi t’es-tu enfui en cachette, et t’es-tu dérobé d’avec moi, et ne m’as-tu pas averti? Et je t’aurais renvoyé avec joie, et avec des chants, avec le tambourin et avec la harpe.
Why? did you hide yourself to flee and did you steal? me and not did you tell? to me and I sent away you with gladness and with songs with tambourine and with harp.
28 Et tu ne m’as pas laissé embrasser mes fils et mes filles; en cela, tu as agi follement.
And not did you allow? me to kiss sons my and daughters my now you have behaved foolishly to do.
29 J’ai en ma main le pouvoir de vous faire du mal; mais le Dieu de votre père m’a parlé la nuit passée, disant: Garde-toi de parler à Jacob, ni en bien, ni en mal.
There [is] to [the] power of hand my to do with you harm and [the] God of father your last night - he said to me saying take heed to yourself from speaking with Jacob from good unto bad.
30 Et maintenant que tu t’en es allé, parce que tu languissais tant après la maison de ton père, pourquoi as-tu volé mes dieux?
And now certainly you have gone for certainly you longed for [the] household of father your why? did you steal gods my.
31 Et Jacob répondit et dit à Laban: Parce que j’ai craint; car j’ai dit: De peur que tu ne me ravisses tes filles.
And he answered Jacob and he said to Laban that I was afraid for I said lest you should tear away daughters your from with me.
32 Qu’il ne vive pas, celui auprès de qui tu trouveras tes dieux! Devant nos frères reconnais ce qui est à toi chez moi, et prends-le. Or Jacob ne savait pas que Rachel les avait volés.
With [anyone] whom you will find gods your not he will live before relatives our investigate for yourself what? [is] with me and take [it] for yourself and not he knew Jacob that Rachel she had stolen them.
33 Et Laban entra dans la tente de Jacob, et dans la tente de Léa, et dans la tente des deux servantes, et ne trouva [rien]; et il sortit de la tente de Léa, et entra dans la tente de Rachel.
And he went Laban in [the] tent of Jacob - and in [the] tent of Leah and in [the] tent of [the] two the maidservants and not he found [them] and he came out from [the] tent of Leah and he went in [the] tent of Rachel.
34 Or Rachel avait pris les théraphim, et les avait mis dans le bât du chameau, et s’était assise dessus; et Laban fouilla toute la tente, et ne trouva [rien].
And Rachel she had taken the teraphim and she had put them in [the] saddlebag of the camel and she sat on them and he searched Laban all the tent and not he found [them].
35 Et elle dit à son père: Que mon seigneur ne voie pas d’un œil irrité que je ne puis me lever devant toi, car j’ai ce que les femmes ont coutume d’avoir. Et il chercha, mais il ne trouva pas les théraphim.
And she said to father her may not it burn in [the] eyes of lord my that not I am able to rise from before you for [the] way of women [belongs] to me and he searched and not he found the teraphim.
36 Et Jacob se mit en colère, et querella Laban; et Jacob répondit et dit à Laban: Quelle est ma faute, quel est mon péché, que tu m’aies poursuivi avec ardeur?
And it burned to Jacob and he quarreled with Laban and he answered Jacob and he said to Laban what? [is] transgression my what? [is] sin my that you have hotly pursued after me.
37 Quand tu as fouillé tous mes effets, qu’as-tu trouvé de tous les effets de ta maison? Mets-le ici devant mes frères et tes frères, et qu’ils jugent entre nous deux.
That you have searched all things my what? did you find of all [the] things of household your put [it] thus before relatives my and relatives your so they may decide between [the] two of us.
38 Ces 20 années j’ai été avec toi; tes brebis et tes chèvres n’ont pas avorté, et je n’ai pas mangé les béliers de ton troupeau.
This twenty year[s] I [have been] with you ewes your and female goats your not they have miscarried and [the] rams of flock your not I have eaten.
39 Ce qui a été déchiré, je ne te l’ai pas rapporté; moi j’ai dû en souffrir la perte; tu as redemandé de ma main ce qui m’avait été volé de jour et ce qui m’avait été volé de nuit.
A torn animal not I brought to you I I bore [the] loss of it from hand my you sought it [one] stolen of day and [one] stolen of night.
40 J’en étais là, que, de jour, la sécheresse me dévorait, et de nuit, la gelée; et mon sommeil fuyait mes yeux.
I was in the day it consumed me heat and frost in the night and it fled sleep my from eyes my.
41 Ces 20 années j’ai été dans ta maison; je t’ai servi 14 ans pour tes deux filles, et six ans pour ton menu bétail, et tu as changé dix fois mon salaire.
This [belonged] to me twenty year[s] in household your I served you four-teen year[s] for [the] two daughters your and six years for flock[s] your and you changed wage[s] my ten times.
42 Si le Dieu de mon père, le Dieu d’Abraham et la frayeur d’Isaac, n’avait été pour moi, certes, tu m’aurais maintenant renvoyé à vide. Dieu a vu mon affliction et le labeur de mes mains, et il t’a repris la nuit passée.
If not [the] God of father my [the] God of Abraham and [the] fear of Isaac he had been to me for now empty you sent away me affliction my and ([the] toil of *LB(ah)*) hands my he has seen God and he decided last night.
43 Et Laban répondit et dit à Jacob: Les filles sont mes filles, et les fils sont mes fils, et le bétail est mon bétail, et tout ce que tu vois est à moi! Et que ferais-je aujourd’hui à celles-ci, mes filles, ou à leurs fils qu’elles ont enfantés?
And he answered Laban and he said to Jacob the daughters [are] daughters my and the children [are] children my and the flock [is] flock my and all that you [are] seeing [belongs] to me it and for daughters my what? will I do for these this day or for children their whom they have borne.
44 Et maintenant, viens, nous ferons une alliance, moi et toi; et elle sera en témoignage entre moi et toi.
And therefore come! let us make a covenant I and you and it will become a witness between me and between you.
45 Et Jacob prit une pierre, et la dressa en stèle.
And he took Jacob a stone and he raised up it a pillar.
46 Et Jacob dit à ses frères: Amassez des pierres. Et ils prirent des pierres, et en firent un monceau; et ils mangèrent là sur le monceau.
And he said Jacob to relatives his gather stones and they took stones and they made a heap and they ate there at the heap.
47 Et Laban l’appela Jegar-Sahadutha, et Jacob l’appela Galhed.
And he called it Laban Jegar Sahadutha and Jacob he called it Galeed.
48 Et Laban dit: Ce monceau est aujourd’hui témoin entre moi et toi. C’est pourquoi il appela son nom Galhed,
And he said Laban the heap this [is] a witness between me and between you this day there-fore (he called *LA(bh)*) name its Galeed.
49 et Mitspa, parce qu’il dit: Que l’Éternel veille entre moi et toi, quand nous serons cachés l’un à l’autre.
And Mizpah that he said may he keep watch Yahweh between me and between you for we will be hidden each from neighbor his.
50 Si tu maltraites mes filles, et si tu prends des femmes outre mes filles (il n’y a aucun homme avec nous), regarde, Dieu est témoin entre moi et toi.
If you will mistreat daughters my and if you will take wives to daughters my there not [is] anyone with us see God [is] a witness between me and between you.
51 Et Laban dit à Jacob: Voici ce monceau, et voici la stèle que j’ai élevée entre moi et toi;
And he said Laban to Jacob here! - the heap this and here! the pillar which I have set up between me and between you.
52 ce monceau sera témoin, et la stèle sera témoin, que moi je ne passerai point ce monceau [pour aller] vers toi, et que toi, tu ne passeras point ce monceau et cette stèle [pour venir] vers moi, pour [faire] du mal.
[is] a witness The heap this and [is] a witness the pillar if I not I will pass beyond to you the heap this and if you not you will pass beyond to me the heap this and the pillar this for harm.
53 Que le Dieu d’Abraham et le Dieu de Nakhor, le Dieu de leur père, juge entre nous. Et Jacob jura par la frayeur de son père Isaac.
[the] God of Abraham and [the] God of Nahor may they judge between us [the] God of father their and he swore Jacob by [the] fear of father his Isaac.
54 Et Jacob offrit un sacrifice sur la montagne et invita ses frères à manger le pain: et ils mangèrent le pain, et passèrent la nuit sur la montagne.
And he sacrificed Jacob a sacrifice in the hill country and he invited relatives his to eat food and they ate food and they stayed [the] night in the hill country.
55 Et Laban se leva de bon matin, et il embrassa ses fils et ses filles, et les bénit; et Laban s’en alla, et retourna en son lieu.
And he rose early Laban in the morning and he kissed sons his and daughters his and he blessed them and he went and he returned Laban to own place his.
