Genèse 21
1 Et l’Éternel visita Sara comme il avait dit, et l’Éternel fit à Sara comme il en avait parlé.
Forsothe God visitide Sare, as he bihiyte, and fillide tho thingis, that he spak.
2 Et Sara conçut, et enfanta à Abraham un fils dans sa vieillesse, au temps fixé dont Dieu lui avait parlé.
And sche conseyuede, and childide a sone in hir eeld, in the tyme wherynne God biforseide to hir.
3 Et Abraham appela le nom de son fils qui lui était né, que Sara lui avait enfanté, Isaac.
And Abraham clepide the name of his sone, whom Sare childide to him, Ysaac.
4 Et Abraham circoncit Isaac, son fils, à l’âge de huit jours, comme Dieu le lui avait commandé.
And Abraham circumcidide hym in the eiyte dai, as God comaundide to him,
5 Et Abraham était âgé de 100 ans lorsque Isaac, son fils, lui naquit.
whanne he was of an hundrid yeer; for Ysaac was borun in this age of the fadir.
6 Et Sara dit: Dieu m’a donné lieu de rire; quiconque l’entendra rira avec moi.
And Sare seide, The Lord made leiyynge to me, and who euer schal here schal leiye with me.
7 Et elle dit: Qui aurait dit à Abraham: Sara allaitera des fils? Car je lui ai enfanté un fils dans sa vieillesse.
And eft sche seide, Who schulde here, and bileue to Abraham, that Sare schulde yyue soukyng to a sone, whom sche childide to him now an eld man?
8 Et l’enfant grandit, et fut sevré; et Abraham fit un grand festin le jour où Isaac fut sevré.
Therfor the child encreesside, and was wenyd; and Abraham made a greet feeste in the dai of his wenyng.
9 Et Sara vit rire le fils d’Agar, l’Égyptienne, qu’elle avait enfanté à Abraham;
And whanne Sare seiy the sone of Agar Egipcian pleiynge with Ysaac hir sone, sche seide to Abraham,
10 et elle dit à Abraham: Chasse cette servante et son fils; car le fils de cette servante n’héritera pas avec mon fils, avec Isaac.
Cast thou out the handmayde and hir sone; for the sone of the handmayde schal not be eir with my sone Ysaac.
11 Et cela fut très mauvais aux yeux d’Abraham, à cause de son fils.
Abraham took this heuyli for his sone;
12 Et Dieu dit à Abraham: Que cela ne soit pas mauvais à tes yeux à cause de l’enfant, et à cause de ta servante. Dans tout ce que Sara t’a dit, écoute sa voix; car en Isaac te sera appelée [une] semence.
and God seide to hym, Be it not seyn scharp to thee on the child, and on thin handmayde; alle thingis whiche Sare seith to thee, here thou hir vois, for in Isaac seed schal be clepid to thee;
13 Et je ferai aussi devenir une nation le fils de la servante, car il est ta semence.
but also I schal make the sone of the handmaid in to a greet folk, for he is thi seed.
14 Et Abraham se leva de bon matin, et il prit du pain et une outre d’eau, et les donna à Agar, les mettant sur son épaule, et [il lui donna] l’enfant, et la renvoya. Et elle s’en alla, et erra dans le désert de Beër-Shéba.
And so Abraham roos eerli, and took breed, and a botel of watir, and puttide on hir schuldre, and bitook the child, and lefte hir; and whanne sche hadde go, sche yede out of the weie in the wildirnesse of Bersabee.
15 Et l’eau de l’outre étant épuisée, elle jeta l’enfant sous un des arbrisseaux,
And whanne the watir in the botel was endid, sche castide awei the child vndur a tre that was there;
16 et s’en alla et s’assit vis-à-vis, à une portée d’arc; car elle disait: Que je ne voie pas mourir l’enfant. Et elle s’assit vis-à-vis, et elle éleva sa voix et pleura.
and sche yede awei, and sche sat euene ayens as fer as a bowe may caste; for sche seide, Y schal not se the child diynge; and sche sat ayens, and reiside hir vois, and wepte.
17 Et Dieu entendit la voix de l’enfant, et l’Ange de Dieu appela des cieux Agar, et lui dit: Qu’as-tu, Agar? Ne crains point, car Dieu a entendu la voix de l’enfant, là où il est.
Forsothe the Lord herde the vois of the child, and the aungel of the Lord clepide Agar fro heuene, and seide, What doist thou, Agar? nyle thou drede, for God hath herd the vois of the child fro the place where ynne he is.
18 Lève-toi, relève l’enfant et prends-le de ta main; car je le ferai devenir une grande nation.
Rise thou, and take the child, and holde his hoond; for Y schal make hym in to a greet folc.
19 Et Dieu lui ouvrit les yeux, et elle vit un puits d’eau; et elle alla et remplit d’eau l’outre, et fit boire l’enfant.
And God openyde hir iyen, and sche seiy a pit of watir, and sche yede, and fillide the botel, and sche yaf drynk to the child;
20 Et Dieu fut avec l’enfant, et il grandit, et habita dans le désert et devint tireur d’arc.
and was with him, and he encresside, and dwellide in wildernesse, and he was maad a yong man an archer,
21 Et il habita dans le désert de Paran; et sa mère lui prit une femme du pays d’Égypte.
and dwellide in the deseert of Faran; and his modir took to him a wijf of the lond of Egipt.
22 Et il arriva, dans ce temps-là, qu’Abimélec, et Picol, chef de son armée, parlèrent à Abraham, disant: Dieu est avec toi en tout ce que tu fais.
In the same tyme Abymelech, and Ficol, prince of his oost, seide to Abraham, God is with thee in alle thingis whiche thou doist;
23 Et maintenant, jure-moi ici, par Dieu, que tu n’agiras faussement ni envers moi, ni envers mes enfants, ni envers mes petits-enfants: selon la bonté dont j’ai usé envers toi, tu agiras envers moi et envers le pays dans lequel tu as séjourné.
therfore swere thou bi God that thou noye not me, and myn eiris, and my kynrede; but bi the mersi whych Y dide to thee, do thou to me, and to the lond in which thou lyuedist a comelyng.
24 Et Abraham dit: Je le jurerai.
And Abraham seide, Y schal swere.
25 Et Abraham reprit Abimélec à cause d’un puits d’eau dont les serviteurs d’Abimélec s’étaient emparés de force.
And he blamyde Abymelech for the pit of watir, which hise seruauntis token awey bi violence.
26 Et Abimélec dit: Je ne sais pas qui a fait cette chose-là, et aussi tu ne m’en as pas averti, et moi, je n’en ai entendu parler qu’aujourd’hui.
And Abymelech answerde, I wiste not who dide this thing, but also thou schewidist not to me, and Y herde not outakun to dai.
27 Et Abraham prit du menu et du gros bétail, et le donna à Abimélec, et ils firent alliance, eux deux.
And so Abraham took scheep and oxun, and yaf to Abymalech, and bothe smyten a boond of pees.
28 Et Abraham mit à part sept jeunes brebis du troupeau;
And Abraham settide seuene ewe lambren of the flok asidis half.
29 et Abimélec dit à Abraham: Qu’est-ce que ces sept jeunes brebis que tu as mises à part?
And Abymelech seide to hym, What wolen these seuene ewe lambren to hem silf, whiche thou madist stonde asidis half?
30 Et il répondit: C’est que tu prendras de ma main ces sept jeunes brebis, pour me servir de témoignage que j’ai creusé ce puits.
And he seide, Thou schalt take of myn hond seuene ewe lambren, that tho be in to witnessyng to me, for Y diggide this pit.
31 C’est pourquoi on appela ce lieu-là Beër-Shéba, parce qu’ils y jurèrent, les deux.
Therfor thilke place was clepid Bersabee, for euere eithir swore there;
32 Et ils firent alliance à Beër-Shéba. Et Abimélec se leva, et Picol, chef de son armée, et ils retournèrent au pays des Philistins.
and thei maden boond of pees for the pit of an ooth.
33 Et [Abraham] planta un tamaris à Beër-Shéba; et là il invoqua le nom de l’Éternel, le Dieu d’éternité.
Forsothe Abymelech roos, and Ficol, prince of his chyualrie, and thei turneden ayen in to the lond of Palestyns. Sotheli Abraham plauntide a wode in Bersabee, and inwardli clepide there the name of euerlastinge God;
34 Et Abraham séjourna longtemps dans le pays des Philistins.
and he was an erthetiliere ether a comelynge of the lond of Palestynes in many dayes.
