Esdras 1
1 Et la première année de Cyrus, roi de Perse, afin que fût accomplie la parole de l’Éternel [dite] par la bouche de Jérémie, l’Éternel réveilla l’esprit de Cyrus, roi de Perse; et il fit une proclamation dans tout son royaume, et la publia aussi par écrit, disant:
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the LORD’s word by Jeremiah’s mouth might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,
2 Ainsi dit Cyrus, roi de Perse: L’Éternel, le Dieu des cieux, m’a donné tous les royaumes de la terre, et il m’a chargé de lui bâtir une maison à Jérusalem, qui est en Juda.
“Cyrus king of Persia says, ‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he has commanded me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
3 Qui d’entre vous, quel qu’il soit, est de son peuple, – que son Dieu soit avec lui, et qu’il monte à Jérusalem, qui est en Juda, et qu’il bâtisse la maison de l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël (lui est Dieu), à Jérusalem.
Whoever there is amongst you of all his people, may his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD, the God of Israel (he is God), which is in Jerusalem.
4 Et celui qui est de reste, dans tous les lieux où chacun séjourne, que les hommes du lieu lui viennent en aide, avec de l’argent, et avec de l’or, et avec des biens, et avec du bétail, outre les offrandes volontaires pour la maison de Dieu qui est à Jérusalem.
Whoever is left, in any place where he lives, let the men of his place help him with silver, with gold, with goods, and with animals, in addition to the free will offering for God’s house which is in Jerusalem.’”
5 Alors se levèrent les chefs des pères de Juda et de Benjamin, et les sacrificateurs et les lévites, tous ceux dont Dieu avait réveillé l’esprit, afin de monter pour bâtir la maison de l’Éternel qui est à Jérusalem.
Then the heads of fathers’ households of Judah and Benjamin, the priests and the Levites, all whose spirit God had stirred to go up, rose up to build the LORD’s house which is in Jerusalem.
6 Et tous ceux qui les entouraient les aidèrent avec des objets d’argent, avec de l’or, avec des biens, et avec du bétail, et avec des choses précieuses, outre tout ce qu’on offrit volontairement.
All those who were around them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, with animals, and with precious things, in addition to all that was willingly offered.
7 Et le roi Cyrus fit sortir les ustensiles de la maison de l’Éternel, que Nebucadnetsar avait fait sortir de Jérusalem et qu’il avait mis dans la maison de son dieu.
Also Cyrus the king brought out the vessels of the LORD’s house, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought out of Jerusalem, and had put in the house of his gods;
8 Et Cyrus, roi de Perse, les fit sortir par Mithredath, le trésorier, qui les compta à Sheshbatsar, prince de Juda.
even those, Cyrus king of Persia brought out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah.
9 Et en voici le nombre: 30 bassins d’or, 1 000 bassins d’argent, 29 couteaux,
This is the number of them: thirty platters of gold, one thousand platters of silver, twenty-nine knives,
10 30 coupes d’or, 410 coupes d’argent de second ordre, [et] 1 000 autres ustensiles;
thirty bowls of gold, four hundred and ten silver bowls of a second kind, and one thousand other vessels.
11 tous les ustensiles d’or et d’argent étaient [au nombre de] 5 400. Sheshbatsar apporta le tout lorsqu’on fit monter de Babylone à Jérusalem ceux de la transportation.
All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. Sheshbazzar brought all these up when the captives were brought up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
