Ézéchiel 29
1 La dixième année, au dixième [mois], le douzième [jour] du mois, la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant:
In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, came the word of the Lord unto me, saying,
2 Fils d’homme, tourne ta face contre le Pharaon, le roi d’Égypte, et prophétise contre lui et contre l’Égypte tout entière.
Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt.
3 Parle, et dis: Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Voici, j’en veux à toi, le Pharaon, roi d’Égypte, grand monstre des eaux, couché au milieu de ses fleuves, qui dis: Mon fleuve est à moi, et je me le suis fait!
Speak and say, Thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will be against thee, O Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great crocodile that lieth in the midst of his streams, who hath said, Mine is my stream, and I have made it for myself.
4 Et je mettrai un anneau dans tes mâchoires, et j’attacherai à tes écailles les poissons de tes fleuves, et je te ferai monter du milieu de tes fleuves, et tous les poissons de tes fleuves qui sont attachés à tes écailles.
But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will fasten the fish of thy streams on thy scales; and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy streams, with all the fish of thy streams which shall stick fast on thy scales.
5 Et je te jetterai dans le désert, toi et tous les poissons de tes fleuves; tu tomberas sur la face des champs, tu ne seras pas recueilli ni rassemblé; je te donnerai en pâture aux bêtes de la terre et aux oiseaux des cieux.
And I will cast thee out into the wilderness, thee with all the fish of thy streams; upon the open field shalt thou fall; thou shalt not be brought in, nor gathered up: to the beasts of the field and to the fowls of the heaven have I given thee for food.
6 Et tous les habitants de l’Égypte sauront que je suis l’Éternel, parce qu’ils ont été un appui de roseau pour la maison d’Israël;
And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am the Lord; because they have been a reed-staff to the house of Israel.
7 lorsqu’ils t’ont pris par la main, tu t’es rompu, et tu leur as déchiré toute l’épaule; et quand ils se sont appuyés sur toi, tu t’es cassé, et tu as fait chanceler tous leurs reins.
When they took hold of thee with the hand, thou wast cracked, and didst rend for them all the shoulder: and when they leaned upon thee, thou wast broken, and madest all their loins to be at a stand.
8 C’est pourquoi, ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Voici, je fais venir l’épée sur toi, et je retrancherai de toi hommes et bêtes.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and I will cut off out of thee man and beast.
9 Et le pays d’Égypte sera une désolation et un désert; et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel, parce qu’il a dit: Le fleuve est à moi, et moi je l’ai fait.
And the land of Egypt shall be changed into a waste and ruin, and they shall know that I am the Lord; because he hath said, The stream is mine, and I have made it.
10 C’est pourquoi, voici, j’en veux à toi et à tes fleuves, et je ferai du pays d’Égypte des déserts d’aridité et de désolation, depuis Migdol à Syène, et jusqu’à la frontière de l’Éthiopie;
Therefore, behold, I will be against thee, and against thy streams, and I will render the land of Egypt a mass of ruins, a waste, and a wilderness, from Migdol to Seveneh even up to the border of Ethiopia.
11 le pied de l’homme n’y passera pas, et le pied de la bête n’y passera pas; et il ne sera pas habité pendant 40 ans.
There shall not pass through it the foot of man, and the foot of beast shall not pass through it, and it shall not be inhabited forty years.
12 Et je ferai du pays d’Égypte une désolation au milieu des pays désolés, et ses villes seront, au milieu des villes dévastées, une désolation pendant 40 ans; et je disperserai les Égyptiens parmi les nations, et je les disséminerai dans les pays.
And I will render the land of Egypt a desolate land in the midst of desolated countries, and her cities among the cities that are ruined shall be desolate forty years: and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.
13 Mais ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Au bout de 40 ans, je rassemblerai les Égyptiens d’entre les peuples parmi lesquels ils auront été dispersés;
For thus hath said the Lord Eternal, [only] at the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the people whither they shall have been scattered;
14 et je rétablirai les captifs de l’Égypte, et je les ferai revenir dans le pays de Pathros, dans le pays de leur origine; et ils seront là un royaume abaissé.
And I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their own origin: and they shall be there an unimportant kingdom.
15 Il sera plus bas que tous les royaumes, et il ne s’élèvera plus au-dessus des nations, et je les diminuerai, en sorte qu’ils ne dominent plus sur les nations.
Among the kingdoms it shall be the lowest; neither shall it raise itself any more above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations.
16 Et il ne sera plus la confiance de la maison d’Israël, mettant en mémoire son iniquité quand elle se tournait après eux; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur, l’Éternel.
And it shall be no more unto the house of Israel for a dependence, bringing [their] iniquity to remembrance, when they turned after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Eternal.
17 Et il arriva, la vingt-septième année, au premier [mois], le premier [jour] du mois, que la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant:
And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, on the first of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
18 Fils d’homme, Nebucadretsar, roi de Babylone, a fait travailler son armée à un grand travail contre Tyr: toute tête en est devenue chauve, et toute épaule en a été écorchée; et il n’a eu de Tyr aucun salaire, ni pour lui, ni pour son armée, pour le travail qu’il a fait contre elle.
Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon hath caused his army to perform a great service against Tyre; every head hath been made bald, and every shoulder hath been rubbed sore: yet no reward hath come to him or to his army from Tyre, for the service that he hath performed against it.
19 C’est pourquoi, ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Voici, je donne à Nebucadretsar, roi de Babylone, le pays d’Égypte; et il en enlèvera la multitude, il en emportera le butin, et en fera le pillage: et ce sera le salaire de son armée.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord Eternal, Behold, I will give unto Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon the land of Egypt; and he shall carry away its multitude, and take its spoil, and plunder its prey: and this shall be the reward for his army.
20 En récompense de son travail contre Tyr, je lui ai donné le pays d’Égypte, parce qu’ils ont travaillé pour moi, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.
As his recompense for that which he hath served against it, have I given him the land of Egypt, for that which they had done against me, saith the Lord Eternal.
21 En ce jour-là je ferai germer la corne de la maison d’Israël, et je te donnerai une bouche ouverte au milieu d’eux; et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel.
On that day will I cause to grow a horn for the house of Israel, and unto thee will I open the mouth in the midst of them: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
