Ézéchiel 27
1 Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant:
And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
2 Et toi, fils d’homme, élève une complainte sur Tyr,
Thou, therefore, son of man, Take up over Tyre a dirge;
3 et dis à Tyr: [Toi] qui demeures aux avenues de la mer, qui trafiques avec les peuples dans beaucoup d’îles, ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Tyr, tu as dit: Je suis parfaite en beauté.
And thou shalt say unto Tyre, O thou that dwellest by the entrances of the sea, Thou merchant of the peoples unto many shores, — Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, O Tyre, Thou saidst, I, am the perfection of beauty!
4 Tes frontières sont au cœur des mers; ceux qui t’ont bâtie ont rendu ta beauté parfaite.
In the heart of the seas, were thy bounds, —Thy builders perfected thy beauty:
5 Avec le cyprès de Senir ils construisaient tous tes doubles bordages; ils prenaient le cèdre du Liban pour faire ta mâture;
With fir-trees from Senir, but they for thee all the two-decked vessels, — Cedar from Lebanon, fetched they, to make masts for thee:
6 avec les chênes de Basan ils faisaient tes rames; ils faisaient tes ponts d’ivoire enchâssé dans le buis des îles de Kittim.
With oaks from Bashan, made they thine oars, — Thy benches, made they of ivory, inlaid with boxwood, From the shores of the West:
7 Le fin lin brodé d’Égypte était ta voile [et] te servait de pavillon; le bleu et la pourpre des îles d’Élisha étaient ta tente;
Of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt, was thy sail, To serve thee for ensign, — Blue and purple from the shores of Aeolis became thine awning:
8 les habitants de Sidon et d’Arvad étaient tes rameurs. Tes sages, ô Tyr, qui étaient en toi, étaient tes pilotes.
the inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad, Became rowers for thee, — Thine own skilled men O Tyre, were within thee, They were thy sailors:
9 Les anciens de Guebal et ses sages étaient en toi, réparant tes fissures; tous les navires de la mer et leurs marins étaient chez toi, pour faire trafic avec toi.
the elders of Byblus and the skilled men thereof, were within thee, Thy calkers, — All the ships of the sea and their mariners, were within thee, To carry on thy traffic,
10 La Perse, et Lud, et Puth, étaient dans ton armée tes hommes de guerre; ils suspendaient chez toi le bouclier et le casque, ils faisaient ta splendeur.
They of Persia and Lud and Phut were in thine army, Thy men of war, — Shield and helmet, hung they up within thee, They set forth thy splendour:
11 Les fils d’Arvad et ton armée étaient tout autour sur tes murailles, et [tes] guerriers étaient dans tes tours; ils suspendaient leurs boucliers à tes murailles tout autour, ils rendaient parfaite ta beauté. –
The sons of Arvad: with thine army, were upon thy walls round about, And valorous in thy towers, — Their shields, hung they up on thy walls round about, They perfected thy beauty:
12 Tarsis commerçait avec toi pour l’abondance de tous biens; d’argent, de fer, d’étain, et de plomb, ils fournissaient tes marchés.
Tarshish was a trader of thine. For the abundance of all wealth, — With silver iron. tin and lead, Took they part in thy traffic:
13 Javan, Tubal et Méshec étaient tes marchands; ils fournissaient à ton trafic des âmes d’hommes et des ustensiles d’airain.
Javan. Tubal and Meshech, They were merchants of thine, — With the persons of men and vessels of bronze, Shared they in thy barter:
14 De la maison de Togarma ils fournissaient tes marchés en chevaux, et en cavaliers, et en mulets.
Some of the house of Togarmah, with horses and horsemen and mules, Took part in thy traffic:
15 Les fils de Dedan étaient tes marchands; de nombreuses îles étaient en relation de commerce avec toi; elles te donnaient en retour des dents d’ivoire et de l’ébène.
the sons of Dedan were merchants of thine, Many, isles, took the merchandise of thy hand, —Horns of ivory and ebony, gave they back to thee in exchange:
16 La Syrie commerçait avec toi à cause de la multitude de tes ouvrages; ils fournissaient tes marchés d’escarboucles, de pourpre, de broderie, et de fin lin, et de corail, et de rubis.
Syria, was a trader of thine For the abundance of thy manufactures, - With carbuncle and purple and embroidery and fine linen and coral and rubies, Took they part in thy traffic:
17 Juda et le pays d’Israël étaient tes marchands; ils fournissaient à ton trafic du froment de Minnith, et de la pâtisserie, et du miel, et de l’huile, et du baume.
Judah and the land of Israel, They, were merchants of thine, — With the wheat of Minnith and the sweets of pannag and honey and oil and balsam, Shared they in thy barter:
18 Pour la multitude de tes ouvrages, à cause de l’abondance de tous biens, Damas commerçait avec toi en vin de Helbon et en laine blanche.
Damascus was a trader of thine For the multitude of thy manufactures For the multitude of all wealth, - With the wine of Helbon and white wool:
19 Vedan, et Javan d’Uzal, fournissaient tes marchés de fer ouvragé; la casse et le roseau aromatique étaient dans ton trafic.
Wedan and Javan, from Uzal, Brought into thy traffic, — Steel, cassia and calamus, Were, in thy merchandise:
20 Dedan était ton marchand en draps précieux pour housses de cheval.
Dedan was a merchant of thine, - With spreading wraps for riding:
21 L’Arabie et tous les princes de Kédar étaient en relation de commerce avec toi; en agneaux, en béliers et en boucs, en ces choses-là, ils étaient tes commerçants.
Arabia and all the princes of Kedar, They, were traders at thy service, — With lambs and rams and he-goats, With these, were they traders of thine:
22 Les marchands de Sheba et de Rahma étaient tes marchands; ils fournissaient tes marchés de tout aromate excellent, et de toute pierre précieuse, et d’or.
The merchants of Sheba and Raamah, They were merchants of thine, — With the chief of all spices and with every kind of precious stone and gold, Took they part in thy traffic:
23 Charan, et Canné, et Éden, les marchands de Sheba, Assur, Kilmad, ta marchande,
Haran and Canneh and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, —Asshur. Chilmad, Were merchants of thine:
24 ceux-là trafiquaient avec toi en objets de prix, en draps bleus, et en broderies, et en caisses de riches étoffes, liées de cordes et [faites] de cèdre, entre tes marchandises.
Those were thy merchants for gorgeous garments, for wrappings of blue and embroidery, and for treasure-chests of variegated cloth, —for cords, twisted and strong, in thy market:
25 Les navires de Tarsis étaient tes caravanes, pour ton trafic; et tu as été remplie et tu es devenue extrêmement glorieuse au cœur des mers.
the ships of Tarshish, were thy masts Carrying on thy barter, So wast thou filled and becamest very glorious In the heart of the seas.
26 Tes rameurs t’ont amenée dans de grandes eaux; le vent d’orient t’a brisée au cœur des mers.
Into mighty waters, have they brought thee, the rowers—even thee, — the east wind, hath broken thee In the heart of the seas:
27 Tes richesses et tes échanges, ton trafic, tes marins et tes pilotes, ceux qui réparent tes fissures, et ceux qui font trafic avec toi, et tous tes hommes de guerre qui sont en toi, et toute ta multitude qui est au milieu de toi, tomberont au cœur des mers, au jour de ta chute.
Thy wealth and thy wares, thy merchandise thy mariners, and thy sailors, -thy calkers and the barterers of thy merchandise and all thy men of war who are in thee and in all thy gathered host which is in thy midst Shall fall into the heart of the seas, In the day of thy fall.
28 Les lieux ouverts trembleront au bruit du cri de tes pilotes.
At the sound of the outcry of thy pilots, the coasts shall quake:
29 Et tous ceux qui manient la rame, les marins, tous les pilotes de la mer, descendront de leurs navires; ils se tiendront sur la terre,
Then shall come down from their ships all that handle the oar, mariners, all the sailors of the sea— Upon the land, shall they take up their station;
30 et feront entendre leur voix sur toi, et crieront amèrement; et ils jetteront de la poussière sur leurs têtes, ils se rouleront dans la cendre;
And make loud [lament] over thee, with their voice, And make biter outcry, - And shall lift up dust on their heads, In ashes, shall roll themselves;
31 et ils se rendront chauves à cause de toi, et se ceindront de sacs, et pleureront sur toi avec amertume d’âme, avec un deuil amer.
And shall make bald for thee a baldness And gird them with sackcloth, — And shall weep for thee in bitterness of soul A bitter lamentation;
32 Et dans leur gémissement ils élèveront sur toi une complainte, ils se lamenteront sur toi: Qui fut comme Tyr, comme celle qui est détruite au milieu de la mer?
And shall take up for thee in their Wailing: a dirge, And shall chant over thee, - Who is like Tyre? Like the Sent One in the midst of the sea?
33 Par les débouchés de tes marchés au-delà des mers tu as rassasié beaucoup de peuples; par l’abondance de tes richesses et de ton trafic tu as enrichi les rois de la terre.
By the going forth of thy commodities out of the seas, Thou didst satisfy many peoples, By the multitude of thy wares and of thy merchandise, Thou didst enrich the kings of the earth.
34 Au temps où tu as été brisée par les mers dans les profondeurs des eaux, ton trafic et toute ta multitude au milieu de toi sont tombés.
Now, thou art wrecked out of the seas In the depths of waters, — Thy merchandise and all thy gathered host In thy midst, have fallen.
35 Tous les habitants des îles sont dans la stupeur à cause de toi, et leurs rois frémiront d’horreur, leurs visages sont agités.
All the dwellers in the coastlands, Are astounded over thee, - And their kings have been made to shudder a shuddering, To be troubled in countenance.
36 Les marchands parmi les peuples ont sifflé sur toi; tu es devenue une terreur, et tu ne seras plus, à jamais.
The traders among the peoples, have hissed over thee: A terror, hast thou become, And, art not, Unto times age-abiding.
