Exode 5

1 Et après [cela], Moïse et Aaron allèrent, et dirent au Pharaon: Ainsi dit l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël: Laisse aller mon peuple, afin qu’il me célèbre une fête dans le désert.

And after they went Moses and Aaron and they said to Pharaoh thus he says Yahweh [the] God of Israel let go people my so they may celebrate a festival to me in the wilderness.

2 Et le Pharaon dit: Qui est l’Éternel pour que j’écoute sa voix et que je laisse aller Israël? Je ne connais pas l’Éternel, et je ne laisserai pas non plus aller Israël.

And he said Pharaoh who? [is] Yahweh that I will listen to voice his by letting go Israel not I know Yahweh and also Israel not I will let go.

3 Et ils dirent: Le Dieu des Hébreux s’est rencontré avec nous. Nous te prions, laisse-nous aller le chemin de trois jours dans le désert, et que nous sacrifiions à l’Éternel, notre Dieu; de peur qu’il ne se jette sur nous par la peste ou par l’épée.

And they said [the] God of the Hebrews he has met with us let us go please a journey of three days in the wilderness and let us sacrifice to Yahweh God our lest he should fall on us with pestilence or with the sword.

4 Et le roi d’Égypte leur dit: Moïse et Aaron, pourquoi détournez-vous le peuple de son ouvrage? Allez à vos corvées.

And he said to them [the] king of Egypt why? O Moses and Aaron are you causing to refrain the people from work its go to forced labor your.

5 Et le Pharaon dit: Voici, le peuple du pays est maintenant nombreux, et vous les faites chômer de leurs corvées.

And he said Pharaoh here! [is] many now [the] people of the land and you have caused to cease them from forced labor their.

6 Et le Pharaon commanda, ce jour-là, aux exacteurs du peuple et à ses commissaires, disant:

And he commanded Pharaoh on the day that the taskmasters over the people and foremen its saying.

7 Vous ne continuerez pas à donner de la paille au peuple pour faire des briques, comme auparavant; qu’ils aillent eux-mêmes, et qu’ils se ramassent de la paille.

Not you will repeat! to give straw to the people to make bricks the bricks as yesterday three days ago they let them go and they may gather for themselves straw.

8 Et vous leur imposerez la quantité de briques qu’ils faisaient auparavant. Vous n’en retrancherez rien, car ils sont paresseux; c’est pourquoi ils crient, disant: Allons, et sacrifions à notre Dieu.

And [the] measurement of the bricks which they [were] making yesterday three days ago you will place on them not you will diminish from it for [are] idle they there-fore they [are] crying out saying let us go let us sacrifice to God our.

9 Que le service pèse sur ces hommes, et qu’ils s’y occupent, et ne regardent pas à des paroles de mensonge.

Let it be heavy the labor on the men so they may work in it and may not them pay attention to words of falsehood.

10 Et les exacteurs du peuple et ses commissaires sortirent, et parlèrent au peuple, disant: Ainsi dit le Pharaon: Je ne vous donnerai point de paille;

And they went out [the] taskmasters of the people and foremen its and they said to the people saying thus he says Pharaoh not I [am] giving to you straw.

11 allez vous-mêmes, et prenez de la paille où vous en trouverez; car il ne sera rien retranché de votre service.

You go acquire for yourselves straw from where you will find [it] for not [is] diminished from labor your anything.

12 Et le peuple se dispersa dans tout le pays d’Égypte pour ramasser du chaume en lieu de paille.

And it scattered the people in all [the] land of Egypt to gather stubble for the straw.

13 Et les exacteurs les pressaient, disant: Achevez vos ouvrages; à chaque jour sa tâche, comme quand il y avait de la paille.

And the taskmasters [were] pressing [them] saying complete work your a matter of a day in day its just as when was the straw.

14 Et les commissaires des fils d’Israël, qu’avaient établis sur eux les exacteurs du Pharaon, furent battus, et il leur fut dit: Pourquoi n’avez-vous pas achevé votre tâche en faisant des briques, hier et aujourd’hui, comme auparavant?

And they were struck [the] foremen of [the] people of Israel whom they had appointed over them [the] taskmasters of Pharaoh saying why? not have you completed prescribed portion your by making bricks as yesterday three days ago neither yesterday nor this day.

15 Et les commissaires des fils d’Israël vinrent et crièrent au Pharaon, disant: Pourquoi fais-tu ainsi à tes serviteurs?

And they went [the] foremen of [the] people of Israel and they cried out to Pharaoh saying why? are you doing thus to servants your.

16 On ne donne point de paille à tes serviteurs, et on nous dit: Faites des briques! Et voici, tes serviteurs sont battus, et c’est ton peuple qui est coupable.

Straw not [is being] given to servants your and bricks [people are] saying to us make and there! servants your [are] being struck and you have sinned people your.

17 Et il dit: Vous êtes paresseux, paresseux; c’est pourquoi vous dites: Allons, et sacrifions à l’Éternel.

And he said [are] idle you idle there-fore you [are] saying let us go let us sacrifice to Yahweh.

18 Et maintenant, allez, travaillez; on ne vous donnera point de paille, et vous livrerez la quantité de briques.

And now go work and straw not it will be given to you and [the] measurement of bricks you will give.

19 Et les commissaires des fils d’Israël virent que leur cas était mauvais, puisqu’on disait: Vous ne retrancherez rien de vos briques; à chaque jour sa tâche.

And they saw [the] foremen of [the] people of Israel themselves in trouble saying not you will diminish from bricks your a matter of a day in day its.

20 Et ils rencontrèrent Moïse et Aaron, qui se tenaient là pour les rencontrer, comme ils sortaient de devant le Pharaon;

And they met Moses and Aaron standing to meet them when came out they from with Pharaoh.

21 et ils leur dirent: Que l’Éternel vous regarde, et qu’il juge; car vous nous avez mis en mauvaise odeur auprès du Pharaon et auprès de ses serviteurs, de manière à leur mettre une épée à la main pour nous tuer.

And they said to them may he look Yahweh on you and may he judge that you have made stink odor our in [the] eyes of Pharaoh and in [the] eyes of servants his to put a sword in hand their to kill us.

22 Et Moïse retourna vers l’Éternel, et dit: Seigneur, pourquoi as-tu fait du mal à ce peuple? Pourquoi donc m’as-tu envoyé?

And he returned Moses to Yahweh and he said O Lord why? have you done harm to the people this why? this did you send me.

23 Depuis que je suis entré vers le Pharaon pour parler en ton nom, il a fait du mal à ce peuple, et tu n’as pas du tout délivré ton peuple.

And from then I went to Pharaoh to speak in name your he has done harm to the people this and certainly not you have delivered people your.
