Deutéronome 7
1 Quand l’Éternel, ton Dieu, t’aura introduit dans le pays où tu entres pour le posséder, et qu’il aura chassé de devant toi des nations nombreuses, le Héthien, et le Guirgasien, et l’Amoréen, et le Cananéen, et le Phérézien, et le Hévien, et le Jébusien, sept nations plus nombreuses et plus fortes que toi,
If he will bring you Yahweh God your into the land where you [are] about to go there towards to take possession of it and he will clear away nations many - from before you the Hittite[s] and the Girgashite[s] and the Amorite[s] and the Canaanite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Hivite[s] and the Jebusite[s] seven nations great and mighty more than you.
2 et que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, les aura livrées devant toi, et que tu les auras frappées, tu les détruiras entièrement comme un anathème; tu ne traiteras point alliance avec elles, et tu ne leur feras pas grâce.
And he will deliver up them Yahweh God your before you and you will strike down them certainly you will totally destroy them not you will make to them a covenant and not you will show favor to them.
3 Tu ne t’allieras point par mariage avec elles, tu ne donneras pas ta fille à leur fils, et tu ne prendras pas leur fille pour ton fils;
And not you will intermarry with them daughter your not you will give to son his and daughter his not you will take for son your.
4 car ils détourneraient de moi ton fils, et il servirait d’autres dieux, et la colère de l’Éternel s’embraserait contre vous, et te détruirait aussitôt.
For he will turn aside son your from after me and they will serve gods other and it will burn [the] anger of Yahweh on you and he will destroy you quickly.
5 Mais vous leur ferez ainsi: Vous démolirez leurs autels, et vous briserez leurs statues, et vous abattrez leurs ashères, et vous brûlerez au feu leurs images taillées.
That except thus you will do to them altars their you will break down and sacred pillars their you will shatter and Asherah poles their you will cut down! and images their you will burn! with fire.
6 Car tu es un peuple saint, [consacré] à l’Éternel, ton Dieu; l’Éternel, ton Dieu, t’a choisi, afin que tu sois pour lui un peuple qui lui appartienne en propre, d’entre tous les peuples qui sont sur la face de la terre.
For [are] a people holy you to Yahweh God your you he has chosen - Yahweh God your to become for him a people of possession from all the peoples which [are] on [the] surface of the ground.
7 Ce n’est pas parce que vous étiez plus nombreux que tous les peuples, que l’Éternel s’est attaché à vous et vous a choisis; car vous êtes le plus petit de tous les peuples;
Not because were numerous you more than all the peoples he loved Yahweh you and he chose you for you [were] the few from all the peoples.
8 mais parce que l’Éternel vous a aimés et parce qu’il garde le serment qu’il a juré à vos pères, l’Éternel vous a fait sortir à main forte, et t’a racheté de la maison de servitude, de la main du Pharaon, roi d’Égypte.
For from [the] love of Yahweh you (and because kept he *L(abh)*) the oath which he swore to ancestors your he brought out Yahweh you by a hand strong and he redeemed you from a house of slaves from [the] hand of Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt.
9 Connais donc que c’est l’Éternel, ton Dieu, qui est Dieu, le Dieu fidèle, qui garde l’alliance et la bonté jusqu’à 1 000 générations à ceux qui l’aiment et qui gardent ses commandements,
And you will know that Yahweh God your he [is] God the God faithful [who] keeps the covenant and covenant loyalty to [those who] love him and to [those who] keep (commandments his *Q(K)*) to a thousand generation[s].
10 et qui récompense en face ceux qui le haïssent, pour les faire périr: il ne différera pas à l’égard de celui qui le hait; il le récompensera en face.
And [who] repays to [those who] hate him to face his by destroying him not he delays to [the] [one who] hates him to face his he repays to him.
11 Et tu garderas les commandements, et les statuts et les ordonnances que je te commande aujourd’hui, pour les pratiquer.
And you will keep the commandment and the statutes and the judgments which I [am] commanding you this day to observe them.
12 Et, si vous écoutez ces ordonnances, et que vous les gardiez et les fassiez, il arrivera que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te gardera l’alliance et la bonté qu’il a jurées à tes pères.
And it will be - consequence you will hear! the judgments these and you will take care and you will observe them and he will keep Yahweh God your to you the covenant and covenant loyalty which he swore to ancestors your.
13 Et il t’aimera, et te bénira, et te multipliera; et il bénira le fruit de ton ventre, et le fruit de ta terre, ton froment, et ton moût, et ton huile, et la portée de ton gros bétail, et l’accroissement de ton menu bétail, sur la terre qu’il a juré à tes pères de te donner.
And he will love you and he will bless you and he will increase you and he will bless [the] fruit of womb your and [the] fruit of ground your grain your and new wine your and fresh oil your [the] young of cattle your and [the] young ones of flock your on the land which he swore to ancestors your to give to you.
14 Tu seras béni plus que tous les peuples; il n’y aura, parmi toi et parmi tes bêtes, ni mâle ni femelle stérile;
Blessed you will be more than all the peoples not he will be among you a sterile [male] and a barren [female] and among livestock your.
15 et l’Éternel éloignera de toi toute maladie, et il ne mettra sur toi aucune des plaies malignes de l’Égypte, que tu as connues, mais il les mettra sur tous ceux qui te haïssent.
And he will remove Yahweh from you every sickness and all [the] diseases of Egypt harmful which you experienced not he will put them on you and he will set them on all [those who] hate you.
16 Et tu consumeras tous les peuples que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te livre; ton œil ne les épargnera pas, et tu ne serviras pas leurs dieux, car ce serait un piège pour toi.
And you will consume all the peoples which Yahweh God your [is] about to deliver up to you not it will look with pity eye your on them and not you will serve gods their for [will be] a snare it to you.
17 Si tu dis dans ton cœur: Ces nations sont plus nombreuses que moi, comment pourrai-je les déposséder?
For you will say in heart your [are] great the nations these more than I how? will I be able to dispossess them.
18 ne les crains point; souviens-toi de ce que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, a fait au Pharaon et à toute l’Égypte,
Not you must be afraid from them carefully you will remember [that] which he did Yahweh God your to Pharaoh and to all Egypt.
19 de ces grandes épreuves que tes yeux ont vues, et des signes et des prodiges, et de la main forte et du bras étendu, par lesquels l’Éternel, ton Dieu, t’a fait sortir: ainsi fera l’Éternel, ton Dieu, à tous les peuples dont tu as peur.
The trials great which they saw eyes your and the signs and the wonders and the hand mighty and the arm outstretched which he brought out you Yahweh God your thus he will do Yahweh God your to all the peoples which you [are] afraid of them.
20 Et l’Éternel, ton Dieu, enverra aussi les frelons contre eux, jusqu’à ce que ceux qui seront restés et ceux qui se seront cachés devant toi aient péri.
And also the hornet he will send Yahweh God your among them until perish [those] who remain and [those] who hide themselves from before you.
21 Tu ne t’épouvanteras pas à cause d’eux, car l’Éternel, ton Dieu, est au milieu de toi, un Dieu grand et terrible.
Not you must be terrified of them for Yahweh God your [is] in midst your a God great and awesome.
22 Et l’Éternel, ton Dieu, chassera ces nations de devant toi peu à peu. Tu ne pourras pas les détruire tout aussitôt, de peur que les bêtes des champs ne se multiplient contre toi.
And he will clear away Yahweh God your the nations these from before you little little not you will be able to make an end of them quickly lest it should increase with you [the] animal[s] of the field.
23 Mais l’Éternel, ton Dieu, les livrera devant toi, et les jettera dans une grande confusion, jusqu’à ce qu’il les ait détruites;
And he will deliver up them Yahweh God your before you and he will confuse them confusion great until are destroyed they.
24 et il livrera leurs rois en ta main, et tu feras périr leur nom de dessous les cieux; nul ne tiendra devant toi, jusqu’à ce que tu les aies détruits.
And he will give kings their in hand your and you will destroy name their from under the heavens not he will stand anyone in face your until destroying you them.
25 Vous brûlerez au feu les images taillées de leurs dieux; tu ne désireras pas l’argent ou l’or qui sont dessus, et tu ne les prendras pas pour toi, de peur que, par là, tu ne sois pris dans un piège; car c’est une abomination pour l’Éternel, ton Dieu;
[the] images of Gods their you will burn! with fire not you will covet silver and gold on them and you will take [it] for yourself lest you should be ensnared by it for [is] [the] abomination of Yahweh God your that.
26 afin que tu n’introduises pas l’abomination dans ta maison, et que tu ne sois pas anathème comme elle: tu l’auras en extrême horreur et en extrême abomination; car c’est un anathème.
And not you will bring an abomination into house your and you will be an object for destruction like it utterly - you will detest it and utterly - you will abhor it for [is] an object for destruction it.
