1 Et il fit un autel d’airain long de 20 coudées, et large de 20 coudées, et haut de dix coudées.
Solomon’s workers made a square bronze altar that was 10 yards wide on each side, and it was 5 yards high.
2 Et il fit la mer de fonte, de dix coudées d’un bord à l’autre bord, ronde tout autour, et haute de cinq coudées; et un cordon de 30 coudées l’entourait tout autour.
They also made a very large round tank that was made of metal and cast [in a clay mold]. It was 10 yards wide/across, and 5 yards high. It was 15 yards around it.
3 Et au-dessous d’elle, l’environnant tout autour, il y avait une ressemblance de bœufs, dix par coudée, entourant la mer tout autour, deux rangs de bœufs, fondus d’une seule fonte avec elle.
Below the outer rim there were two rows of [small figures of] bulls that were part of the metal of the basin. Each row had 300 figures of bulls.
4 Elle était posée sur douze bœufs, trois tournés vers le nord, et trois tournés vers l’occident, et trois tournés vers le midi, et trois tournés vers le levant; et la mer était sur eux, par-dessus; et toute leur partie postérieure était en dedans.
The basin was set on twelve [statues of] bulls. There were three statues that faced north, three that faced west, three that faced south, and three that faced east.
5 Et son épaisseur était d’une paume, et son bord était comme le travail du bord d’une coupe, en fleurs de lis: en capacité, elle contenait 3 000 baths.
The sides of the tank were 3 inches thick, and its rim was shaped like a cup that curved outward like the petals of flowers. The basin held about 16,500 gallons [of water].
6 Et il fit dix cuves, et en plaça cinq à droite, et cinq à gauche, pour y laver: on y lavait ce qu’on préparait pour l’holocauste; et la mer était pour les sacrificateurs, pour s’y laver.
They also made ten basins for washing the [animals that were] to be sacrificed. The priests used the very large tank for washing themselves.
7 Et il fit dix chandeliers d’or, selon l’ordonnance à leur égard: et il les plaça dans le temple, cinq à droite, et cinq à gauche.
They also made ten gold lampstands according to what Solomon had instructed them. They put them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north side.
8 Et il fit dix tables, et les plaça dans le temple, cinq à droite, et cinq à gauche. Et il fit 100 bassins d’or.
They made ten tables and put them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north side. They also made 100 gold bowls.
9 Et il fit le parvis des sacrificateurs, et la grande cour, et les portes de la cour, et il recouvrit d’airain leurs battants.
They also constructed one courtyard for the priests, and a larger courtyard [for the other people]. They made doors for the courtyards and covered them with [thin sheets of] bronze.
10 Et il mit la mer au côté droit, à l’orient, vers le midi.
They placed the very large tank [on the south side of the temple, ] at the southeast corner.
11 Et Huram fit les vases [à cendre], et les pelles, et les bassins. Et Huram acheva de faire l’ouvrage qu’il fit pour le roi Salomon dans la maison de Dieu:
They also made pots and shovels [for the ashes of the altar], and other small bowls. So Huram [and his workers] finished the work that King Solomon had given him to do at the temple of God.
12 deux colonnes, et les globes, et les deux chapiteaux [qui étaient] sur le sommet des colonnes; et les deux réseaux pour couvrir les deux globes des chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes;
[These were the things that they made: ] the two large pillars, the two bowl-shaped top parts on top of the pillars, the two sets of carvings that resembled chains to decorate the tops of the two pillars,
13 et les 400 grenades pour les deux réseaux, deux rangs de grenades à un réseau, pour couvrir les deux globes des chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes.
the 400 carvings that resembled pomegranates that were placed in two rows, that decorated the bowl-shaped tops of the two pillars,
14 Et il fit les bases, et fit les cuves sur les bases;
the stands, and the basins that were placed on them,
15 la mer unique, et les douze bœufs sous elle:
the very large tank, and the [statues of] twelve bulls underneath it,
16 et les vases [à cendre], et les pelles, et les fourchettes, et tous leurs ustensiles, Huram-Abiv les fit d’airain poli, pour le roi Salomon, pour la maison de l’Éternel.
the pots, shovels, meat forks, and all the other things [needed for the work at the altar]. All those things that Huram [and his workers] made for King Solomon were made of polished bronze.
17 Le roi les fit fondre dans la plaine du Jourdain, dans l’épaisseur du sol, entre Succoth et Tserédatha.
They made them by pouring melted bronze into the clay molds that Huram had set up near the Jordan [river] between Succoth and Zarethan [cities].
18 Et Salomon fit tous ces objets en grand nombre, car on ne rechercha pas le poids de l’airain.
All of those things that Solomon [told them to] make used a very large amount of bronze; no one tried to weigh it all.
19 Et Salomon fit tous les objets qui étaient dans la maison de Dieu: l’autel d’or; et les tables sur lesquelles [on mettait] le pain de proposition;
Solomon’s workers also made all these things that were put at the temple: the golden altar, the tables on which the priests put the sacred bread,
20 et les chandeliers, et leurs lampes d’or pur, pour brûler devant l’oracle, selon l’ordonnance;
the pure gold lampstands and the pure gold lamps, [in which the priests put oil] to burn in front of the Most Holy Place as God had told [Moses that the priests should do],
21 et les fleurs, et les lampes, et les pincettes, d’or, (c’était de l’or parfait);
the pure gold decorations that resembled flowers, and the lamps and tongs,
22 et les couteaux, et les bassins, et les coupes, et les brasiers, d’or pur; et l’entrée de la maison, ses portes intérieures pour le lieu très saint, et les portes de la maison, pour le temple, étaient [aussi] d’or.
the pure gold wick trimmers and bowls for sprinkling, and dishes and lamp snuffers, the gold doors of the temple and the doors to the main hall.
