2 Chroniques 15

1 Et l’Esprit de Dieu fut sur Azaria, fils d’Oded:

Forsothe Azarie, the sone of Obeth, whanne the spirit of the Lord was comyn in to hym,

2 et il sortit au-devant d’Asa, et lui dit: Asa, et tout Juda et Benjamin, écoutez-moi: L’Éternel est avec vous quand vous êtes avec lui; et si vous le cherchez vous le trouverez, et si vous l’abandonnez il vous abandonnera.

yede out in to the metyng of Asa; and seide to hym, Asa and al Juda and Beniamyn, here ye me; the Lord is with you, for ye weren with hym; if ye seken hym, ye schulen fynde hym; sotheli if ye forsaken hym, he schal forsake you.

3 Pendant bien des jours il n’y eut pour Israël ni vrai Dieu, ni sacrificateur pour enseigner, ni loi;

Forsothe many daies schulen passe in Israel with outen veri God, and without preest, and without techere, and without lawe.

4 et, dans leur angoisse, ils se retournèrent vers l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, et le cherchèrent, et ils l’ont trouvé.

And whanne thei turnen ayen in her angwisch, and crien to the Lord God of Israel, and seken hym, thei schulen fynde hym.

5 Et, en ces temps-là, il n’y avait point de paix pour ceux qui sortaient et qui entraient, car il y avait beaucoup de troubles parmi tous les habitants du pays,

In that tyme schal not be pees to go out and to go in, but dredis on al side on alle the dwelleris of londis.

6 et nation se brisait contre nation, et ville contre ville, car Dieu les troublait par toutes sortes d’angoisses.

For a folk schal fiyte ayens folk, and a citee ayens a citee, for the Lord schal disturble hem in al anguysch;

7 Vous donc, fortifiez-vous, et que vos mains ne soient point lâches; car il y a une récompense pour ce que vous ferez.

but be ye coumfortid, and youre hondis be not slakid; for mede schal be to youre werk.

8 Et quand Asa eut entendu ces paroles et la prophétie d’Oded, le prophète, il se fortifia, et fit disparaître les choses abominables de tout le pays de Juda et de Benjamin, et des villes qu’il avait prises de la montagne d’Éphraïm, et il renouvela l’autel de l’Éternel, qui était devant le portique de l’Éternel.

And whanne Asa hadde herd this thing, that is, the wordis and profesye of Asarie, the sone of Obed, the profete, he was coumfortid, and he dide a wei alle the idols fro al the lond of Juda and of Beniamyn, and fro the citees whiche he hadde take of the hil of Effraym. And he halewide the auter of the Lord, that was bifor the porche of the hows of the Lord.

9 Et il assembla tout Juda et Benjamin, et les étrangers qui étaient avec eux, d’Éphraïm, et de Manassé, et de Siméon; car beaucoup d’Israélites passèrent à lui quand ils virent que l’Éternel, son Dieu, était avec lui.

And he gaderide togidere al Juda and Beniamyn, and with hem the comelyngis of Effraym, and of Manasses, and of Symeon; for manye of Israel, seynge that his Lord God was with hym, fledden ouer to hym.

10 Et ils se rassemblèrent à Jérusalem, le troisième mois de la quinzième année du règne d’Asa;

And whanne thei hadden comun in to Jerusalem, in the thridde monethe, in the fiftenthe yeer of the rewme of Asa,

11 et ils sacrifièrent à l’Éternel, en ce jour-là, du butin qu’ils avaient amené, 700 bœufs et 7 000 moutons.

thei offriden `to the Lord in that dai, bothe of the spuylis and of the prey, which thei hadden brouyt, seuene hundrid oxis, and seuene thousynde wetheris.

12 Et ils s’engagèrent ensemble à rechercher l’Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères, de tout leur cœur et de toute leur âme,

And Asa entride bi custom to make strong the boond of pees, that thei schulden seke the Lord God of her fadris in al her herte, and in al her soule.

13 [établissant] que quiconque ne rechercherait pas l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, serait mis à mort, tant petit que grand, tant homme que femme.

Sotheli he seide, If ony man sekith not the Lord God of Israel, die he, fro the leeste `til to the mooste, fro man `til to womman.

14 Et ils jurèrent à l’Éternel à haute voix, et à grands cris, et avec des trompettes et des cors.

And alle that weren in Juda sworen with cursyng to the Lord, with greet vois, in hertli song, and in sown of trumpe, and in sown of clariouns;

15 Et tout Juda se réjouit du serment, car ils avaient juré de tout leur cœur, et ils avaient recherché l’Éternel de toute leur âme, et ils l’avaient trouvé. Et l’Éternel leur donna du repos tout à l’entour.

for thei sworen in al her herte, and in al the wille thei souyten hym, and founden hym; and the Lord yaf to hem reste bi cumpas.

16 Et même à Maaca, sa mère, le roi Asa ôta sa position de reine, parce qu’elle avait fait un simulacre pour Ashère; et Asa abattit son simulacre, et le broya, et le brûla dans la vallée du Cédron.

But also he puttide doun Maacha, the modir of `Asa the kyng, fro the streit empire, for sche hadde made in a wode the symylacre, `ether licnesse, of a mannus yerde; and he al to-brak al `that symylacre, and pownede it in to gobetis, and `brente it in the stronde of Cedron.

17 Mais les hauts lieux ne furent pas ôtés d’Israël; cependant le cœur d’Asa fut parfait tous ses jours.

But hiy places weren left in Israel; netheles the herte of Asa was riytful in alle hise daies.

18 Et il apporta dans la maison de Dieu les choses saintes de son père et les choses qu’il avait lui-même consacrées, de l’argent, et de l’or, et des ustensiles.

And he brouyte in to the hows of the Lord tho thingis that his fadir avowide, siluer and gold, and dyuerse purtenaunce of vessels;

19 Et il n’y eut point de guerre jusqu’à la trente-cinquième année du règne d’Asa.
