2 Chroniques 12
1 Et il arriva que, quand le royaume de Roboam fut affermi, et qu’il se fut fortifié, il abandonna la loi de l’Éternel, et tout Israël avec lui.
And whanne the rewme of Roboam was maad strong and coumfortid, he forsook the lawe of the Lord, and al Israel with hym.
2 Et parce qu’ils avaient péché contre l’Éternel, il arriva, en la cinquième année du roi Roboam, que Shishak, roi d’Égypte, monta contre Jérusalem,

3 avec 1 200 chars et 60 000 cavaliers; et le peuple qui vint avec lui d’Égypte, Libyens, Sukkiens, et Éthiopiens, était sans nombre;
and he stiede with a thousynde and two hundrid charys, and with sixti thousynde of horse men, and no noumbre was of the comyn puple, that cam with hym fro Egipt, that is, Libiens, and Trogoditis, and Ethiopiens.
4 et il prit les villes fortes qui étaient à Juda, et vint jusqu’à Jérusalem.
And he took ful stronge citees in Juda, and he cam `til to Jerusalem.
5 Et Shemahia, le prophète, vint vers Roboam et vers les chefs de Juda qui s’étaient assemblés à Jérusalem, fuyant Shishak, et leur dit: Ainsi dit l’Éternel: Vous m’avez abandonné, et moi je vous ai aussi abandonnés aux mains de Shishak.
Forsothe Semei, the prophete, entride to Roboam, and to the princes of Juda, whiche fleynge fro Sesach weren gaderid togidere `in to Jerusalem. And he seide to hem, The Lord seith these thingis, Ye han forsake me, and Y haue forsake you in the hond of Sesach.
6 Et les chefs d’Israël et le roi s’humilièrent, et dirent: L’Éternel est juste.
And the princes of Israel and the kyng weren astonyed, and seiden, The Lord is iust.
7 Et quand l’Éternel vit qu’ils s’étaient humiliés, la parole de l’Éternel vint à Shemahia, disant: Ils se sont humiliés, je ne les détruirai pas; je leur donnerai un peu de délivrance, et ma fureur ne se déversera pas sur Jérusalem par le moyen de Shishak;
And whanne the Lord hadde seyn that thei weren mekid, the word of the Lord was maad to Semey, and seide, For thei ben mekid, Y schal not distrie hem, and Y schal yyue to hem a litil help, and my stronge veniaunce schal not droppe on Jerusalem bi the hond of Sesach.
8 mais ils lui seront asservis, et ils connaîtront ce que c’est que mon service, et le service des royaumes des pays.
Netheles thei schulen serue hym, that thei knowe the dyuersitee of my seruyce and of the seruyce of the rewme of londis.
9 Et Shishak, roi d’Égypte, monta contre Jérusalem, et prit les trésors de la maison de l’Éternel et les trésors de la maison du roi: il prit tout. Et il prit les boucliers d’or que Salomon avait faits.
Therfor Sesach, the kyng of Egipt, yede a wey fro Jerusalem, aftir that he hadde take awei the tresouris of the hows of the Lord, and of the kyngis hows; and he took alle thingis with hym, and the goldun scheeldis whiche Salomon hadde maad,
10 Et le roi Roboam fit à leur place des boucliers d’airain, et les confia aux mains des chefs des coureurs qui gardaient l’entrée de la maison du roi.
for whiche the kyng made brasun scheeldis, and took tho to the princes of scheeld makeris, that kepten the porche of the paleis.
11 Et toutes les fois que le roi entrait dans la maison de l’Éternel, il arrivait que les coureurs venaient et les portaient, puis ils les rapportaient dans la chambre des coureurs.
And whanne the kyng entride in to the hows of the Lord, the scheeldmakeris camen, and token tho, and eft brouyten tho to his armure place.
12 Et quand il s’humilia, la colère de l’Éternel se détourna de lui, et il ne le détruisit pas entièrement; et aussi il y avait en Juda de bonnes choses.

13 Et le roi Roboam se fortifia dans Jérusalem, et régna. Or Roboam était âgé de 41 ans lorsqu’il commença de régner; et il régna 17 ans à Jérusalem, la ville que l’Éternel avait choisie d’entre toutes les tribus d’Israël pour y mettre son nom; et le nom de sa mère était Naama, une Ammonite.

14 Mais il fit le mal; car il n’appliqua pas son cœur à rechercher l’Éternel.

16 Et Roboam s’endormit avec ses pères, et il fut enterré dans la ville de David; et Abija, son fils, régna à sa place.
And Roboam and Jeroboam fouyten in alle daies ayens hem silf. And Roboam slepte with hise fadris, and was biried in the citee of Dauid; and Abia, his sone, regnede for hym.
