1 Samuel 1

1 Et il y avait un homme de Ramathaïm-Tsophim, de la montagne d’Éphraïm, et son nom était Elkana, fils de Jerokham, fils d’Élihu, fils de Thohu, fils de Tsuph, Éphratien;

And he was a man one from Ramathaim Zophim from [the] hill country of Ephraim and name his [was] Elkanah [the] son of Jeroham [the] son of Elihu [the] son of Tohu [the] son of Zuph an Ephrathite.

2 et il avait deux femmes: le nom de l’une était Anne, et le nom de la seconde, Peninna. Et Peninna avait des enfants, mais Anne n’avait pas d’enfants.

And [belonged] to him two wives [the] name of one [was] Hannah and [the] name of the second [was] Peninnah and it belonged to Peninnah children and [belonged] to Hannah not children.

3 Et cet homme montait chaque année de sa ville pour adorer l’Éternel des armées et lui sacrifier à Silo; et là étaient les deux fils d’Éli, Hophni et Phinées, sacrificateurs de l’Éternel.

And he went up the man that from city his from days - days towards to bow down and to sacrifice to Yahweh of hosts at Shiloh and there [the] two [the] sons of Eli Hophni and Phinehas [were] priests of Yahweh.

4 Et il arriva que, le jour où Elkana sacrifia, il donna des portions à Peninna, sa femme, et à chacun de ses fils et de ses filles;

And it was the day and he sacrificed Elkanah and he gave to Peninnah wife his and to all sons her and daughters her portions.

5 mais à Anne il donna une portion double, car il aimait Anne; mais l’Éternel avait fermé sa matrice.

And to Hannah he gave a portion one double for Hannah he loved and Yahweh he had closed womb her.

6 Et son ennemie la chagrinait aigrement, afin de la pousser à l’irritation, parce que l’Éternel avait fermé sa matrice.

And she provoked her rival her also provocation in order to disconcert her for he had closed Yahweh behind womb her.

7 Et [Elkana] faisait ainsi d’année en année. Chaque fois qu’elle montait à la maison de l’Éternel, [Peninna] la chagrinait ainsi; et elle pleurait, et ne mangeait pas.

And thus he did a year in a year as often as went up she in [the] house of Yahweh thus she provoked her and she wept and not she ate.

8 Et Elkana, son mari, lui dit: Anne, pourquoi pleures-tu? et pourquoi ne manges-tu pas? et pourquoi ton cœur est-il chagrin? Est-ce que je ne vaux pas mieux pour toi que dix fils?

And he said to her Elkanah husband her O Hannah why? do you weep and why? not are you eating and why? is sad heart your ¿ not [am] I good to you more than ten sons.

9 Et Anne se leva, après qu’on eut mangé à Silo, et après qu’on eut bu; (et Éli, le sacrificateur, était assis sur un siège près de l’un des poteaux du temple de l’Éternel);

And she arose Hannah after had eaten in Shiloh and after had drunk and Eli the priest [was] sitting on the seat at [the] doorpost of [the] temple of Yahweh.

10 et elle avait l’amertume dans l’âme, et elle pria l’Éternel et pleura abondamment.

And she [was] bitter of soul and she prayed to Yahweh and utterly she wept.

11 Et elle fit un vœu, et dit: Éternel des armées! si tu veux regarder à l’affliction de ta servante, et si tu te souviens de moi et n’oublies pas ta servante, et que tu donnes à ta servante un enfant mâle, je le donnerai à l’Éternel [pour] tous les jours de sa vie; et le rasoir ne passera pas sur sa tête.

And she vowed a vow and she said O Yahweh of hosts certainly [if] you will look - on [the] affliction of maidservant your and you will remember me and not you will forget maidservant your and you will give to maidservant of your spring of men and I will give him to Yahweh all [the] days of life his and a razor not it will go up on head his.

12 Et il arriva que, comme elle priait longuement devant l’Éternel, Éli observa sa bouche.

And it was that she had increased to pray before Yahweh and Eli [was] watching mouth her.

13 Et Anne parlait dans son cœur; ses lèvres seulement remuaient, mais on n’entendait pas sa voix; et Éli pensa qu’elle était ivre.

And Hannah she [was] speaking to heart her only lips her [were] quivering and voice her not it was heard and he considered her Eli to a drunken [woman].

14 Et Éli lui dit: Jusques à quand seras-tu ivre? Ôte ton vin d’avec toi.

And he said to her Eli until when? will you be drunk! remove wine your from with you.

15 Et Anne répondit et dit: Non, mon seigneur; je suis une femme qui a l’esprit accablé; je n’ai bu ni vin ni boisson forte, mais je répandais mon âme devant l’Éternel.

And she answered Hannah and she said no O lord my [am] a woman hard of spirit I and wine and strong drink not I have drunk and I have poured out soul my before Yahweh.

16 Ne mets pas ta servante au rang d’une fille de Bélial; car c’est dans la grandeur de ma plainte et de mon chagrin que j’ai parlé jusqu’à présent.

May not you give maidservant your before a daughter of worthlessness for from [the] greatness of complaint my and provocation my I have spoken until now.

17 Et Éli répondit et dit: Va en paix; et que le Dieu d’Israël t’accorde la demande que tu lui as faite!

And he answered Eli and he said go to peace and [the] God of Israel may he grant petition your which you have asked from with him.

18 Et elle dit: Que ta servante trouve grâce à tes yeux! Et la femme s’en alla son chemin; et elle mangea, et elle n’eut plus le même visage.

And she said may she find maidservant your favor in view your and she went the woman to way her and she ate and face her not they were to her still.

19 Et ils se levèrent de bonne heure le matin, et se prosternèrent devant l’Éternel; et ils s’en retournèrent et vinrent dans leur maison, à Rama. Et Elkana connut Anne, sa femme; et l’Éternel se souvint d’elle.

And they rose early in the morning and they bowed down before Yahweh and they returned and they went to house their Ramah towards and he knew Elkanah Hannah wife his and he remembered her Yahweh.

20 Et il arriva que, quand les jours furent révolus, Anne, ayant conçu, enfanta un fils; et elle appela son nom Samuel: car je l’ai demandé à l’Éternel.

And it was to [the] circuit of the days and she conceived Hannah and she bore a son and she called name his Samuel for from Yahweh I asked for him.

21 Et Elkana, son mari, monta avec toute sa maison pour sacrifier à l’Éternel le sacrifice annuel et son vœu.

And he went up the man Elkanah and all household his to sacrifice to Yahweh [the] sacrifice of the days and vow his.

22 Mais Anne ne monta pas, car elle dit à son mari: [J’attendrai] jusqu’à ce que l’enfant soit sevré; alors je le mènerai, afin qu’il paraisse devant l’Éternel et qu’il habite là pour toujours.

And Hannah not she went up for she said to husband her until he will be weaned the lad and I will take him and he will appear with [the] presence of Yahweh and he will dwell there until perpetuity.

23 Et Elkana, son mari, lui dit: Fais ce qui est bon à tes yeux, demeure jusqu’à ce que tu l’aies sevré; seulement, que l’Éternel accomplisse sa parole! Et la femme demeura, et elle allaita son fils jusqu’à ce qu’elle l’ait sevré.

And he said to her Elkanah husband her do the good in view your remain until wean you him only may he carry out Yahweh word his and she remained the woman and she suckled son her until (had weaned she *LAH(b)*) him.

24 Et sitôt qu’elle l’eut sevré, elle l’emmena avec elle, avec trois jeunes taureaux, et un épha de farine et une outre de vin; et elle le mena à la maison de l’Éternel à Silo; et l’enfant était très jeune.

And she brought up him with her just when she had weaned him with young bulls three and an ephah one of flour and a skin of wine and she took him [the] house of Yahweh Shiloh and the lad [was] a lad.

25 Et ils égorgèrent le taureau, et ils amenèrent le jeune garçon à Éli.

And they slaughtered the young bull and they brought the lad to Eli.

26 Et elle dit: Ah, mon seigneur! ton âme est vivante, mon seigneur, je suis la femme qui se tenait ici près de toi pour prier l’Éternel.

And she said pardon me O lord my [by] [the] life of self your O lord my I [am] the woman who stood with you in this [place] to pray to Yahweh.

27 J’ai prié pour cet enfant, et l’Éternel m’a accordé la demande que je lui ai faite.

Concerning the lad this I prayed and he has granted Yahweh to me petition my which I asked from with him.

28 Et aussi, moi je l’ai prêté à l’Éternel; [pour] tous les jours de sa vie, il est prêté à l’Éternel. Et il se prosterna là devant l’Éternel.

And also I I entrust him to Yahweh all the days which he has been he [is] asked by Yahweh and he bowed down there to Yahweh.
