1 Et le roi Salomon était roi sur tout Israël.
And King Salomon was King ouer all Israel.
2 Et ce sont ici les princes qu’il avait: Azaria, fils de Tsadok, le sacrificateur;
And these were his princes, Azariah the sonne of Zadok the Priest,
3 Élihoreph et Akhija, fils de Shisha, scribes; Josaphat, fils d’Akhilud, rédacteur des chroniques;
Elihoreph and Ahiah the sonnes of Shisha scribes, Iehoshaphat the sonne of Ahilud, the recorder,
4 et Benaïa, fils de Jehoïada, [préposé] sur l’armée; et Tsadok, et Abiathar, sacrificateurs;
And Benaiah the sonne of Iehoiada was ouer the hoste, and Zadok and Abiathar Priests,
5 et Azaria, fils de Nathan, [préposé] sur les intendants; et Zabud, fils de Nathan, principal officier, ami du roi;
And Azariah the sonne of Nathan was ouer the officers, and Zabud the sonne of Nathan Priest was the Kings friend,
6 et Akhishar, [préposé] sur la maison, et Adoniram, fils d’Abda, sur les levées.
And Ahishar was ouer the houshold: and Adoniram the sonne of Abda was ouer the tribute.
7 Et Salomon avait douze intendants sur tout Israël, et ils pourvoyaient à l’entretien du roi et de sa maison; chacun était tenu de pourvoir à cet entretien un mois dans l’année.
And Salomon had twelue officers ouer all Israel, which prouided vitailes for the King and his housholde: eche man had a moneth in the yeere to prouide vitailes.
8 Et ce sont ici leurs noms: le fils de Hur, dans la montagne d’Éphraïm;
And these are their names: the sonne of Hur in mount Ephraim:
9 le fils de Déker, à Makats, et à Shaalbim, et à Beth-Shémesh, et à Élon-Beth-Hanan;
The sonne of Dekar in Makaz, and in Shaalbim and Beth-shemesh, and Elon and Beth-hanan:
10 le fils de Hésed, à Arubboth: il avait Soco et tout le pays de Hépher.
The sonne of Hesed in Aruboth, to whom perteined Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher:
11 Le fils d’Abinadab avait toutes les hauteurs de Dor; il avait Taphath, fille de Salomon, pour femme.
The sonne of Abinadab in all the region of Dor, which had Taphath the daughter of Salomon to wife.
12 Baana, fils d’Akhilud, avait Thaanac et Meguiddo, et tout Beth-Shean, qui est à côté de Tsarthan, sous Jizreël, depuis Beth-Shean jusqu’à Abel-Mehola, jusqu’au-delà de Jokmeam.
Baana the sonne of Ahilud in Taanach, and Megiddo, and in all Beth-shean, which is by Zartanah beneath Izreel, from Beth-shean to Abelmeholah, eue til beyond ouer against Iokmeam:
13 Le fils de Guéber était à Ramoth de Galaad: il avait les bourgs de Jaïr, fils de Manassé, qui sont en Galaad, la région d’Argob, qui est en Basan, 60 grandes villes avec des murailles et des barres d’airain.
The sonne of Geber in Ramoth Gilead, and his were the townes of Iair, the sonne of Manasseh, which are in Gilead, and vnder him was the region of Argob, which is in Bashan: threescore great cities with walles and barres of brasse.
14 Akhinadab, fils d’Iddo, était à Mahanaïm;
Ahinadab the sonne of Iddo had to Mahanaim:
15 Akhimaats, en Nephthali: lui aussi avait pris Basmath, fille de Salomon, pour femme;
Ahimaaz in Naphtali, and he tooke Basmath the daughter of Salomon to wife:
16 Baana, fils de Hushaï, en Aser et en Aloth;
Baanah the sonne of Hushai in Asher and in Aloth:
17 Josaphat, fils de Paruakh, en Issacar;
Iehoshaphat the sonne of Paruah in Issachar.
18 Shimhi, fils d’Éla, en Benjamin;
Shimei the sonne of Elah in Beniamin:
19 Guéber, fils d’Uri, dans le pays de Galaad, le pays de Sihon, roi des Amoréens, et d’Og, roi de Basan: il était le seul intendant qui soit dans le pays.
Geber the sonne of Vri in the countrey of Gilead, the land of Sihon King of the Amorites, and of Og King of Bashan, and was officer alone in the land.
20 Juda et Israël étaient nombreux, comme le sable qui est près de la mer, en multitude, – mangeant et buvant, et se réjouissant.
Iudah and Israel were many, as the sand of the sea in number, eating, drinking, and making merry.
21 Et Salomon domina sur tous les royaumes, depuis le fleuve jusqu’au pays des Philistins, et jusqu’à la frontière d’Égypte: ils apportèrent des présents et servirent Salomon tous les jours de sa vie.
And Salomon reigned ouer all kingdomes, from the Riuer vnto the lande of the Philistims, and vnto the border of Egypt, and they brought presents, and serued Salomon all the dayes of his life.
22 Et l’ordinaire de Salomon, pour un jour, était: 30 cors de fleur de farine, et 60 cors de farine,
And Salomons vitailes for one day were thirtie measures of fine floure, and threescore measures of meale:
23 dix bœufs gras, et 20 bœufs de pâturages, et 100 moutons, outre les cerfs, et les gazelles, et les daims, et la volaille engraissée.
Ten fat oxen, and twentie oxen of the pastures, and an hundreth sheepe, beside hartes, and buckes, and bugles, and fat foule.
24 Car il dominait sur tout [ce qui était] en deçà du fleuve, depuis Thiphsakh jusqu’à Gaza, sur tous les rois en deçà du fleuve; et il était en paix avec tous ses alentours, de tous côtés.
For he ruled in all the region on the other side of the Riuer, from Tiphsah euen vnto Azzah, ouer all the Kings on the other side the Riuer: and he had peace round about him on euery side.
25 Et Juda et Israël habitèrent en sécurité, chacun sous sa vigne et sous son figuier, depuis Dan jusqu’à Beër-Shéba, tous les jours de Salomon.
And Iudah and Israel dwelt without feare, euery man vnder his vine, and vnder his fig tree, from Dan, euen to Beer-sheba, all the dayes of Salomon.
26 Et Salomon avait 40 000 stalles pour les chevaux de ses chars, et 12 000 cavaliers.
And Salomon had fourtie thousande stalles of horses for his charets, and twelue thousand horsemen.
27 Et ces intendants pourvoyaient à l’entretien du roi Salomon et de tous ceux qui venaient à la table du roi Salomon, chacun en son mois; ils ne laissaient rien manquer.
And these officers prouided vitaile for king Salomon, and for all that came to King Salomons table, euery man his moneth, and they suffred to lacke nothing.
28 Et ils faisaient venir l’orge et la paille pour les chevaux et les coursiers au lieu où était [l’intendant], chacun selon sa règle.
Barley also and strawe for the horses and mules brought they vnto the place where the officers were, euery man according to his charge.
29 Et Dieu donna à Salomon de la sagesse et une très grande intelligence, et un cœur large comme le sable qui est sur le bord de la mer.
And God gaue Salomon wisdome and vnderstanding exceeding much, and a large heart, euen as the sand that is on the sea shore,
30 Et la sagesse de Salomon était plus grande que la sagesse de tous les fils de l’orient et toute la sagesse de l’Égypte.
And Salomons wisdome excelled the wisedome of all the children of the East and all the wisedome of Egypt.
31 Et il était plus sage qu’aucun homme, plus qu’Éthan, l’Ezrakhite, et qu’Héman, et Calcol, et Darda, les fils de Makhol. Et sa renommée était [répandue] parmi toutes les nations, à l’entour.
For he was wiser then any man: yea, then were Ethan the Ezrahite, the Heman, then Chalcol, then Darda the sonnes of Mahol: and he was famous throughout all nations round about.
32 Et il proféra 3 000 proverbes, et ses cantiques furent [au nombre] de 1 005.
And Salomon spake three thousand prouerbs: and his songs were a thousand and fiue.
33 Et il parla sur les arbres, depuis le cèdre qui est sur le Liban, jusqu’à l’hysope qui sort du mur; et il parla sur les bêtes, et sur les oiseaux, et sur les reptiles, et sur les poissons.
And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon, euen vnto the hyssope that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of foules, and of creeping thinges, and of fishes.
34 Et de tous les peuples on venait pour entendre la sagesse de Salomon, de la part de tous les rois de la terre qui avaient entendu parler de sa sagesse.
And there came of all people to heare the wisedome of Salomon, from all Kings of the earth, which had heard of his wisedome.
