1 Rois 15

1 Et la dix-huitième année du roi Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, Abijam commença de régner sur Juda.

And in the eighteenth yeere of King Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, reigned Abiiam ouer Iudah.

2 Il régna trois ans à Jérusalem; et le nom de sa mère était Maaca, fille d’Abishalom.

Three yeere reigned hee in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.

3 Et il marcha dans tous les péchés de son père, que celui-ci avait pratiqués avant lui; et son cœur ne fut pas parfait avec l’Éternel, son Dieu, comme le cœur de David, son père.

And hee walked in all the sinnes of his father, which hee had done before him: and his heart was not perfit with the Lord his God as the heart of Dauid his father.

4 Toutefois, à cause de David, l’Éternel, son Dieu, lui donna une lampe à Jérusalem, établissant son fils après lui, et faisant subsister Jérusalem;

But for Dauids sake did the Lord his God giue him a light in Ierusalem, and set vp his sonne after him, and established Ierusalem,

5 parce que David avait fait ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel, et ne s’était détourné de rien de ce qu’il lui avait commandé, tous les jours de sa vie, excepté dans l’affaire d’Urie, le Héthien.

Because Dauid did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and turned from nothing that he commanded him, all the dayes of his life, saue onely in the matter of Vriah the Hittite.

6 Et il y eut guerre entre Roboam et Jéroboam, tous les jours de sa vie.

And there was warre betweene Rehoboam and Ieroboam as long as he liued.

7 Et le reste des actes d’Abijam, et tout ce qu’il fit, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois de Juda? Et il y eut guerre entre Abijam et Jéroboam.

The rest also of the actes of Abiiam, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? there was also warre betweene Abiiam, and Ieroboam.

8 Et Abijam s’endormit avec ses pères, et on l’enterra dans la ville de David; et Asa, son fils, régna à sa place.

And Abiiam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the citie of Dauid: and Asa his sonne reigned in his steade.

9 Et en la vingtième année de Jéroboam, roi d’Israël, Asa commença de régner sur Juda;

And in the twentie yeere of Ieroboam King of Israel reigned Asa ouer Iudah.

10 et il régna 41 ans à Jérusalem; et le nom de sa mère était Maaca, fille d’Abishalom.

He reigned in Ierusalem one and fourtie yeere, and his mothers name was Maachah the daughter of Abishalom.

11 Et Asa fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel, comme David, son père;

And Asa did right in the eyes of the Lord, as did Dauid his father.

12 et il fit disparaître du pays les hommes voués à la prostitution, et ôta toutes les idoles que ses pères avaient faites.

And he tooke away the Sodomites out of the lande, and put away all the idoles that his fathers had made.

13 Et même à Maaca, sa mère, il ôta sa position de reine, parce qu’elle avait fait un simulacre pour Ashère; et Asa abattit son simulacre, et le brûla dans la vallée du Cédron.

And he put downe Maachah his mother also from her estate, because shee had made an idole in a groue: and Asa destroyed her idoles, and burnt them by the brooke Kidron.

14 Mais les hauts lieux ne furent pas ôtés; cependant le cœur d’Asa fut parfait avec l’Éternel, tous ses jours.

But they put not downe the hie places. Neuertheles Asas heart was vpright with the Lord all his dayes.

15 Et il apporta dans la maison de l’Éternel les choses saintes de son père et les choses que lui-même avait consacrées, de l’argent, et de l’or, et des ustensiles.

Also he brought in the holy vessels of his father, and the things that he had dedicated vnto ye house of the Lord, siluer, and golde, and vessels.

16 Et il y eut guerre entre Asa et Baësha, roi d’Israël, tous leurs jours.

And there was warre betweene Asa and Baasha King of Israel all their dayes.

17 Et Baësha, roi d’Israël, monta contre Juda; et il bâtit Rama, afin de ne permettre à personne de sortir de chez Asa, roi de Juda, ou d’entrer vers lui.

Then Baasha king of Israel went vp against Iudah, and buylt Ramah, so that he woulde let none go out or in to Asa King of Iudah.

18 Et Asa prit tout l’argent et l’or qui restaient dans les trésors de la maison de l’Éternel et dans les trésors de la maison du roi, et les mit entre les mains de ses serviteurs; et le roi Asa les envoya à Ben-Hadad, fils de Tabrimmon, fils de Hézion, roi de Syrie, qui habitait à Damas, disant:

Then Asa tooke all the siluer and the gold that was left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the kings house, and deliuered them into the handes of his seruantes, and King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the sonne of Tabrimon, the sonne of Hezion king of Aram that dwelt at Damascus, saying,

19 Il y a alliance entre moi et toi, entre mon père et ton père; voici, je t’envoie un présent d’argent et d’or: va, romps ton alliance avec Baësha, roi d’Israël, afin qu’il s’en aille d’auprès de moi.

There is a couenant betweene me and thee, and betweene my father and thy father: behold, I haue sent vnto thee a present of siluer and golde: come, breake thy couenant with Baasha King of Israel, that he may depart from me.

20 Et Ben-Hadad écouta le roi Asa, et envoya les chefs de ses troupes contre les villes d’Israël, et il frappa Ijon, et Dan, et Abel-Beth-Maaca, et tout Kinneroth avec tout le pays de Nephthali.

So Ben-hadad hearkened vnto King Asa, and sent the captaines of the hosts, which he had, against the cities of Israel, and smote lion, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

21 Et il arriva, quand Baësha l’apprit, qu’il se désista de bâtir Rama, et il habita à Thirtsa.

And when Baasha heard thereof, hee left buylding of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.

22 Et le roi Asa convoqua tout Juda; personne n’était exempté; et ils emportèrent les pierres de Rama, et les bois avec lesquels Baësha bâtissait; et le roi Asa en bâtit Guéba de Benjamin et Mitspa.

Then king Asa assembled al Iudah, none excepted. and they tooke the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had buylt, and King Asa built with them Geba of Beniamin and Mizpah.

23 Et le reste de tous les actes d’Asa, et toute sa puissance, et tout ce qu’il fit, et les villes qu’il bâtit, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois de Juda? Seulement, au temps de sa vieillesse, il fut malade des pieds.

And the rest of all the actes of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he buylt, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah? but in his olde age he was diseased in his feete.

24 Et Asa s’endormit avec ses pères; et il fut enterré avec ses pères dans la ville de David, son père; et Josaphat, son fils, régna à sa place.

And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid his father. And Iehoshaphat his sonne reigned in his steade.

25 Et Nadab, fils de Jéroboam, commença de régner sur Israël la seconde année d’Asa, roi de Juda; et il régna sur Israël deux ans.

And Nadab the sonne of Ieroboam began to reigne ouer Israel the second yere of Asa King of Iudah, and reigned ouer Israel two yeere.

26 Et il fit ce qui est mauvais aux yeux de l’Éternel, et marcha dans la voie de son père et dans son péché par lequel il avait fait pécher Israël.

And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of his father, and in his sinne wherewith he made Israel to sinne.

27 Et Baësha, fils d’Akhija, de la maison d’Issacar, conspira contre lui; et Baësha le frappa à Guibbethon, qui était aux Philistins, pendant que Nadab et tout Israël assiégeaient Guibbethon.

And Baasha the sonne of Ahijah of ye house of Issachar conspired against him, and Baasha slue him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistims: for Nadab and all Israel layde siege to Gibbethon.

28 Et Baësha le mit à mort la troisième année d’Asa, roi de Juda, et régna à sa place.

Euen in the third yeere of Asa King of Iudah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his steade.

29 Et il arriva que, quand il fut roi, il frappa toute la maison de Jéroboam; il ne laissa de Jéroboam personne qui respire, jusqu’à ce qu’il ait détruit sa maison selon la parole de l’Éternel qu’il avait dite par son serviteur Akhija, le Silonite,

And when he was King, he smote all the house of Ieroboam, he left none aliue to Ieroboam, vntill hee had destroyed him, according to the word of the Lord which he spake by his seruant Ahijah the Shilonite,

30 à cause des péchés de Jéroboam, qu’il avait commis et par lesquels il avait fait pécher Israël, par sa provocation par laquelle il avait provoqué l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël.

Because of the sinnes of Ieroboam which he committed, and wherewith he made Israel to sinne, by his prouocation, wherewith he prouoked the Lord God of Israel.

31 Et le reste des actes de Nadab, et tout ce qu’il fit, cela n’est-il pas écrit dans le livre des chroniques des rois d’Israël?

And the residue of the actes of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

32 Et il y eut guerre entre Asa et Baësha, roi d’Israël, tous leurs jours.

And there was warre betweene Asa and Baasha King of Israel, all their dayes.

33 La troisième année d’Asa, roi de Juda, Baësha, fils d’Akhija, commença de régner sur tout Israël, à Thirtsa, [et il régna] 24 ans.

In the thirde yeere of Asa King of Iudah, began Baasha the sonne of Ahijah to reigne ouer all Israel in Tirzah, and reigned foure and twentie yeeres.

34 Et il fit ce qui est mauvais aux yeux de l’Éternel, et marcha dans la voie de Jéroboam, et dans son péché par lequel il avait fait pécher Israël.

And he did euill in the sight of the Lord, walking in the way of Ieroboam, and in his sinne, wherewith he made Israel to sinne.
