1 Chroniques 26
1 Les classes des portiers. Des Corites: Meshélémia, fils de Koré, des fils d’Asaph.
This is a list of the divisions of the gatekeepers. From the Korahites: Meshelemiah son of Kore, one of the sons of Asaph.
2 Et Meshélémia avait des fils: Zacharie, le premier-né; Jediaël, le second; Zebadia, le troisième; Jathniel, le quatrième;
The sons of Meshelemiah: Zechariah (first), Jediael (second), Zebadiah (third), Jathniel (fourth),
3 Élam, le cinquième; Jokhanan, le sixième; Élioénaï, le septième.
Elam (fifth), Jehohanan (sixth), and Eliehoenai (seventh).
4 – Et les fils d’Obed-Édom: Shemahia, le premier-né; Jozabad, le second; Joakh, le troisième; et Sacar, le quatrième; et Nethaneël, le cinquième;
The sons of Obed-edom: Shemaiah (first), Jehozabad (second), Joah (third), Sacar (fourth), Nethanel (fifth),
5 Ammiel, le sixième; Issacar, le septième; Peülthaï, le huitième, car Dieu l’avait béni.
Ammiel (sixth), Issachar (seventh), and Peullethai (eighth), for God had blessed Obed-edom.
6 – Et à Shemahia, son fils, naquirent des fils qui gouvernèrent dans la maison de leur père, car ils étaient hommes forts et vaillants.
Shemaiah, Obed-edom's son, had sons who were capable leaders and had great authority in their father's family
7 Les fils de Shemahia: Othni, et Rephaël, et Obed, Elzabad, [et] ses frères, hommes vaillants, Élihu et Semakia.
The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed, and Elzabad. His relatives, Elihu and Semakiah, were also capable men.
8 Tous ceux-là étaient des fils d’Obed-Édom; eux, et leurs fils, et leurs frères, hommes vaillants et forts pour le service, 62, d’Obed-Édom.
All these descendants of Obed-edom, plus their sons and grandsons, a total of sixty-two, were capable men, well qualified for their service.
9 – Et Meshélémia avait des fils et des frères, hommes vaillants, 18.
Meshelemiah's eighteen sons and brothers were also capable men.
10 – Et Hosa, d’entre les fils de Merari, avait des fils: Shimri, le chef; bien qu’il ne soit pas le premier-né, son père l’établit pour chef;
Hosah, one of the sons of Merari, made Shimri as leader among his sons, though he was not the firstborn.
11 Hilkija, le second; Tebalia, le troisième; Zacharie, le quatrième: tous les fils et les frères de Hosa étaient 13.
His other sons included Hilkiah (second), Tebaliah (third), and Zechariah (fourth). The total of Hosah's sons and relatives was thirteen.
12 À ceux-là furent les départements des portiers, aux chefs des hommes [qui vaquaient] à leurs charges avec leurs frères, pour faire le service dans la maison de l’Éternel.
These divisions of the gatekeepers, through their family leaders, served in the house of the Lord, just like their brothers.
13 Et ils jetèrent les sorts, le petit comme le grand, selon leurs maisons de pères, pour chaque porte.
Every gate was assigned by lot to different families, the least important equal to the most important.
14 Et le sort qui échut à Shélémia fut le levant; et on jeta le sort pour Zacharie, son fils, sage conseiller, et le sort qui lui échut fut le nord;
The lot for the east gate fell to Meshelemiah. Then they cast lots for his son Zechariah, a wise counselor with insight, and the lot for the north gate fell to him.
15 à Obed-Édom [échut] le midi; et à ses fils, la maison des approvisionnements;
The lot for the south gate fell to Obed-edom, and the lot for the storehouse fell to his sons.
16 à Shuppim et à Hosa, le couchant, avec la porte de Shalléketh, au chemin qui monte, une garde vis-à-vis de l’autre.
Shuppim and Hosah received the west gate and the gate of Shallecheth on the road that leads up. They were always guarded.
17 Au levant, il y avait six Lévites; au nord, quatre par jour; au midi, quatre par jour; et aux approvisionnements, deux [et] deux;
There were six Levites on duty every day at the east gate, four at the north gate, four at the south gate, and two at a time at the storehouse.
18 à Parbar, vers le couchant, quatre au chemin, deux à Parbar.
Six were on duty every day at the west gate, four at the main road, and two at the courtyard.
19 – Ce sont là les départements des portiers, d’entre les fils des Corites et d’entre les fils de Merari.
These were the divisions of the gatekeepers from the sons of Korah and the sons of Merari.
20 Et les Lévites: Akhija était [préposé] sur les trésors de la maison de Dieu et sur les trésors des choses saintes.
Other Levites under Ahijah were in charge of the treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries of the what had been dedicated to God.
21 Les fils de Lahdan, les fils des Guershonites de Lahdan, les chefs des pères de Lahdan, le Guershonite: Jekhiéli;
From the sons of Ladan, who were the descendants of the Gershonites through Ladan, and were the family leaders of Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli.
22 les fils de Jekhiéli: Zétham et Joël, son frère, [préposés] sur les trésors de la maison de l’Éternel.
The sons of Jehieli, Zetham and his brother Joel, were in charge of the treasuries of the house of the Lord.
23 Des Amramites, des Jitseharites, des Hébronites, des Uziélites…
From the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites:
24 Et Shebuel, fils de Guershom, fils de Moïse, était surintendant des trésors.
Shebuel, a descendant of Gershom, son of Moses, who was the chief officer in charge of the treasuries.
25 Et ses frères, d’Éliézer: Rekhabia, son fils, et Ésaïe, son fils, et Joram, son fils, et Zicri, son fils, et Shelomith, son fils.
His relatives by Eliezer were Rehabiah, Jeshaiah, Joram, Zicri, and Shelomoth.
26 Ce Shelomith et ses frères furent [préposés] sur tous les trésors des choses saintes que le roi David, et les chefs des pères, les chefs de milliers et de centaines, et les chefs de l’armée, avaient consacrées,
Shelomoth and his relatives were in charge of all the treasuries for all that had been dedicated by King David, by the family leaders who were the commanders of thousands and of hundreds, and by the army commanders.
27 qu’ils avaient consacrées, des guerres et du butin, pour l’entretien de la maison de l’Éternel;
They dedicated a part of the plunder they had won in battle to help maintain the house of the Lord.
28 et tout ce qu’avaient consacré Samuel, le voyant, et Saül, fils de Kis, et Abner, fils de Ner, et Joab, fils de Tseruïa: tout ce qui était consacré était [mis] sous la main de Shelomith et de ses frères.
Shelomoth and his relatives also looked after the gifts dedicated to the Lord by Samuel the seer, Saul son of Kish, Abner son of Ner, and Joab son of Zeruiah. All the dedicated gifts were the responsibility of Shelomoth and his relatives.
29 D’entre les Jitseharites, Kenania et ses fils étaient [établis] sur Israël pour les affaires extérieures, comme intendants et juges.
From the Izharites: Kenaniah and his sons were given outside duties as officials and judges over Israel.
30 D’entre les Hébronites, Hashabia et ses frères, hommes vaillants, [au nombre de] 1 700, pour l’administration d’Israël, en deçà du Jourdain, vers le couchant, pour toutes les affaires de l’Éternel et pour le service du roi.
From the Hebronites: Hashabiah and his relatives, 1,700 capable men, were put in charge of the Israel west of the Jordan, responsible for everything involving the Lord's work and the king's service.
31 D’entre les Hébronites, Jerija fut le chef; (on rechercha les Hébronites, selon leurs générations, selon les pères, en la quarantième année du règne de David, et on trouva parmi eux, à Jahzer de Galaad, des hommes forts et vaillants; )
Also from the Hebronites came Jerijah, the leader of the Hebronites according to the family genealogies. In the fortieth year of David's reign the records were examined, and men of great ability were discovered at Jazer in Gilead.
32 et ses frères, hommes vaillants, étaient 2 700, des chefs des pères; et le roi David les établit sur les Rubénites et sur les Gadites et sur la demi-tribu des Manassites, pour toutes les affaires de Dieu et pour les affaires du roi.
Among the relatives of Jerijah were 2,700 capable men who were family leaders. King David put them in charge of the tribes of Reuben and Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh. They were responsible for everything involving the Lord's work and the king's service.
