1 Chroniques 15

1 Et il fit pour lui des maisons dans la ville de David, et prépara un lieu pour l’arche de Dieu, et tendit une tente pour elle.

And Dauid made him houses in the citie of Dauid, and prepared a place for the Arke of God, and pitched for it a tent.

2 Alors David dit: Il ne convient pas que l’arche de Dieu soit portée par personne excepté les Lévites; car l’Éternel les a choisis pour porter l’arche de Dieu et pour en faire le service à toujours.

Then Dauid saide, None ought to carie the Arke of God, but the Leuites: for the Lord hath chosen them to beare the Arke of the Lord, and to minister vnto him for euer.

3 Et David assembla tout Israël à Jérusalem, pour faire monter l’arche de l’Éternel au lieu qu’il lui avait préparé.

And Dauid gathered all Israel together to Ierusalem to bring vp the Arke of the Lord vnto his place, which he had ordeined for it.

4 Et David assembla les fils d’Aaron et les Lévites:

And Dauid assembled the sonnes of Aaron, and the Leuites.

5 des fils de Kehath, Uriel, le chef, et ses frères, 120 [hommes];

Of the sonnes of Kohath, Vriel the chiefe, and his brethren sixe score.

6 des fils de Merari, Asçaïa, le chef, et ses frères, 220;

Of the sonnes of Merari, Asaiah the chiefe, and his brethren two hundreth and twentie.

7 des fils de Guershom, Joël, le chef, et ses frères, 130;

Of the sonnes of Gershom, Ioel the chiefe, and his brethren an hundreth and thirtie.

8 des fils d’Élitsaphan, Shemahia, le chef, et ses frères, 200;

Of the sonnes of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chiefe, and his brethren two hundreth.

9 des fils de Hébron, Éliel, le chef, et ses frères, 80;

Of the sonnes of Hebron, Eliel the chiefe, and his brethren fourescore.

10 des fils d’Uziel, Amminadab, le chef, et ses frères, 112.

Of the sonnes of Vzziel, Amminadab the chiefe, and his brethren an hundreth and twelue.

11 Et David appela Tsadok et Abiathar, les sacrificateurs, et les Lévites, Uriel, Asçaïa, et Joël, Shemahia, et Éliel, et Amminadab;

And Dauid called Zadok and Abiathar the Priestes, and of the Leuites, Vriel, Asaiah and Ioel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab:

12 et il leur dit: Vous êtes les chefs des pères des Lévites; sanctifiez-vous, vous et vos frères, et faites monter l’arche de l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, au [lieu que] je lui ai préparé.

And he saide vnto them, Ye are the chiefe fathers of the Leuites: sanctifie your selues, and your brethren, and bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel vnto the place that I haue prepared for it.

13 Car, parce que vous ne l’avez pas [fait] la première fois, l’Éternel, notre Dieu, a fait une brèche parmi nous; car nous ne l’avons pas recherché conformément à l’ordonnance.

For because ye were not there at the first, the Lord our God made a breach among vs: for we sought him not after due order.

14 Et les sacrificateurs et les Lévites se sanctifièrent pour faire monter l’arche de l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël.

So the Priestes and the Leuites sanctified them selues to bring vp the Arke of the Lord God of Israel.

15 Et les fils des Lévites portèrent l’arche de Dieu sur leurs épaules, avec les barres sur eux, comme Moïse l’avait commandé, selon la parole de l’Éternel.

And the sonnes of the Leuites bare the Arke of God vpon their shoulders with the barres, as Moses had commanded, according to the worde of the Lord.

16 Et David dit aux chefs des Lévites d’établir leurs frères, les chantres, avec des instruments de musique, des luths, et des harpes, et des cymbales, qu’ils feraient retentir en élevant leur voix avec joie.

And Dauid spake to the chiefe of the Leuites, that they should appoint certaine of their brethren to sing with instruments of musike, with violes and harpes, and cymbales, that they might make a sounde, and lift vp their voyce with ioye.

17 Et les Lévites établirent Héman, fils de Joël; et, d’entre ses frères, Asaph, fils de Bérékia; et, d’entre les fils de Merari, leurs frères, Éthan, fils de Kushaïa;

So the Leuites appointed Heman the sonne of Ioel, and of his brethren Asaph the sonne of Berechiah, and of the sonnes of Merari their brethren, Ethan the sonne of Kushaiah,

18 et avec eux leurs frères du second rang: Zacharie, Ben, et Jaaziel, et Shemiramoth, et Jekhiel, et Unni, Éliab, et Benaïa, et Maascéïa, et Matthithia, et Éliphelé, et Miknéïa, et Obed-Édom, et Jehiel, les portiers.

And with them their brethren in the seconde degree, Zechariah, Ben, and Iaaziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, Eliab, and Benaiah, and Maaseiah, and Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel the porters.

19 Et les chantres, Héman, Asaph, et Éthan, avec des cymbales d’airain, pour les faire retentir;

So Heman, Asaph and Ethan were fingers to make a sounde with cymbales of brasse,

20 et Zacharie, et Aziel, et Shemiramoth, et Jekhiel, et Unni, et Éliab, et Maascéïa, et Benaïa, avec des luths, sur [le mode] d’Alamoth;

And Zechariah, and Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Iehiel, and Vnni, and Eliab, and Maaseiah, and Benaiah with violes on Alamoth,

21 et Matthithia, et Éliphelé, et Miknéïa, et Obed-Édom, et Jehiel, et Azazia, avec des harpes sur [le mode] de Sheminith, pour diriger le chant.

And Mattithiah, and Elipheleh, and Mikneah, and Obed Edom, and Ieiel, and Azaziah, with harpes vpon Sheminith Ienazzeah.

22 Et Kenania, le chef des Lévites pour la musique, enseignait la musique; car il était intelligent.

But Chenaniah the chiefe of the Leuites had the charge, bearing ye burden in the charge, for he was able to instruct.

23 Et Bérékia et Elkana étaient portiers pour l’arche.

And Berechiah and Elkanah were porters for the Arke.

24 Et Shebania, et Josaphat, et Nethaneël, et Amasçaï, et Zacharie, et Benaïa, et Éliézer, les sacrificateurs, sonnaient avec des trompettes devant l’arche de Dieu; et Obed-Édom et Jekhija étaient portiers pour l’arche.

And Shecaniah and Iehoshaphat and Nethaneel and Amasai, and Zechariah, and Benaiah, and Eliezer the Priestes did blowe with trumpets before the Arke of God, and Obed Edom and Ieiiah were porters for the Arke.

25 Et David, et les anciens d’Israël, et les chefs de milliers, allèrent pour faire monter l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel, de la maison d’Obed-Édom, avec joie:

So Dauid and the Elders of Israel and the captaines of thousandes went to bring vp the Arke of the couenant of the Lord from the house of Obed Edom with ioye.

26 et il arriva que, quand Dieu aida les Lévites qui portaient l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel, ils sacrifièrent sept veaux et sept béliers.

And because that God helped the Leuites that bare the Arke of the couenant of the Lord, they offered seuen bullockes and seuen rammes.

27 Et David était vêtu d’une robe de byssus, ainsi que tous les Lévites qui portaient l’arche, et les chantres, et Kenania, le chef de la musique des chantres; et David avait sur lui un éphod de lin.

And Dauid had on him a linen garment, as all the Leuites that bare the Arke, and the singers and Chenaniah that had the chiefe charge of the singers: and vpon Dauid was a linnen Ephod.

28 Et tout Israël faisait monter l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel avec des cris de joie, et au son du cor, et avec des trompettes et des cymbales, et en faisant retentir des luths et des harpes.

Thus all Israel brought vp the Arke of the Lordes couenant with shouting and sounde of cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbales, making a sound with violes and with harpes.

29 Et comme l’arche de l’alliance de l’Éternel arrivait à la ville de David, Mical, fille de Saül, regarda par la fenêtre, et elle vit le roi David sautant et jouant, et elle le méprisa dans son cœur.

And when the Arke of the couenant of the Lord came into the citie of Dauid, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at a windowe, and sawe King Dauid dauncing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.
