Psaumes 90
1 Prière de Moïse, homme de Dieu. Seigneur, tu as été pour nous un refuge d’âge en âge.
A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, thou hast bene our habitation from generation to generation.
2 Avant que les montagnes fussent nées, et que tu eusses enfanté la terre et le monde, de l’éternité à l’éternité tu es, ô Dieu!
Before the mountaines were made, and before thou hadst formed the earth, and the world, euen from euerlasting to euerlasting thou art our God.
3 Tu réduis les mortels en poussière, et tu dis: « Retournez, fils de l’homme! »
Thou turnest man to destruction: againe thou sayest, Returne, ye sonnes of Adam.
4 Car mille ans sont, à tes yeux, comme le jour d’hier, quand il passe, et comme une veille de la nuit.
For a thousande yeeres in thy sight are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
5 Tu les emportes, semblables à un songe; le matin, comme l’herbe, ils repoussent:
Thou hast ouerflowed them: they are as a sleepe: in the morning he groweth like the grasse:
6 le matin, elle fleurit et pousse; le soir, elle se flétrit et se dessèche.
In the morning it florisheth and groweth, but in the euening it is cut downe and withereth.
7 Ainsi nous sommes consumés par ta colère, et ta fureur nous terrifie.
For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
8 Tu mets devant toi nos iniquités, nos fautes cachées à la lumière de ta face.
Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, and our secret sinnes in the light of thy countenance.
9 Tous nos jours disparaissent par ton courroux, nous voyons nos années s’évanouir comme un son léger.
For all our dayes are past in thine anger: we haue spent our yeeres as a thought.
10 Nos jours s’élèvent à soixante-dix ans, et dans leur pleine mesure à quatre-vingts ans; et leur splendeur n’est que peine et misère, car ils passent vite, et nous nous envolons!
The time of our life is threescore yeeres and ten, and if they be of strength, fourescore yeeres: yet their strength is but labour and sorowe: for it is cut off quickly, and we flee away.
11 Qui comprend la puissance de ta colère, et ton courroux, selon la crainte qui t’est due?
Who knoweth the power of thy wrath? for according to thy feare is thine anger.
12 Enseigne-nous à bien compter nos jours. afin que nous acquérions un cœur sage.
Teach vs so to nomber our dayes, that we may apply our heartes vnto wisdome.
13 Reviens, Yahweh; jusques à quand? Aie pitié de tes serviteurs.
Returne (O Lord, howe long?) and be pacified toward thy seruants.
14 Rassasie-nous le matin de ta bonté, et nous serons tous nos jours dans la joie et l’allégresse.
Fill vs with thy mercie in the morning: so shall we reioyce and be glad all our dayes.
15 Réjouis-nous autant de jours que tu nous as humiliés, autant d’années que nous avons connu le malheur.
Comfort vs according to the dayes that thou hast afflicted vs, and according to the yeeres that we haue seene euill.
16 Que ton œuvre se manifeste à tes serviteurs, ainsi que ta gloire, pour leurs enfants!
Let thy worke bee seene towarde thy seruants, and thy glory vpon their children.
17 Que la faveur de Yahweh, notre Dieu, soit sur nous! Affermis pour nous l’ouvrage de nos mains; oui, affermis l’ouvrage de nos mains!
And let the beautie of the Lord our God be vpon vs, and direct thou the worke of our hands vpon vs, euen direct the worke of our handes.
