Psaumes 85
1 Au maître de chant. Psaume des fils de Coré. Tu as été favorable à ton pays, Yahweh, tu as ramené les captifs de Jacob;
“For the leader of the music. A psalm of the sons of Korah.” O LORD! thou hast been favorable to thy land; Thou hast brought back the captives of Jacob;
2 tu as pardonné l'iniquité à ton peuple, tu as couvert tous ses péchés; — Séla.
Thou didst forgive the iniquity of thy people, And cover all their sins! (Pause)
3 tu as retiré toute ton indignation, tu es revenu de l'ardeur de ta colère.
Thou didst take away all thy displeasure, And abate the fierceness of thy wrath.
4 Rétablis-nous, Dieu de notre salut; mets fin à ton sentiment contre nous.
Restore us, O God of our salvation! And let thine anger towards us cease!
5 Seras-tu toujours irrité contre nous, prolongeras-tu ton courroux éternellement?
Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? Wilt thou continue thy wrath from generation to generation?
6 Ne nous feras-tu pas revenir à la vie, afin que ton peuple se réjouisse en toi?
Wilt thou not revive us again, That thy people may rejoice in thee?
7 Yahweh, fais-nous voir ta bonté, et accorde-nous ton salut.
Show us thy compassion, O LORD! And grant us thy salvation!
8 Je veux écouter ce que dira le Dieu Yahweh: — Il a des paroles de paix pour son peuple et pour ses fidèles; pourvu qu'ils ne retournent pas à leur folie. —
I will hear what God the LORD will speak: Truly he will speak peace to his people, and to his servants; Only let them not turn again to folly!
9 Oui, son salut est proche de ceux qui le craignent, et la gloire habitera de nouveau dans notre pays.
Yea, his salvation is near to those who fear him, That glory may dwell in our land.
10 La bonté et la vérité vont se rencontrer, la justice et la paix s'embrasseront.
Mercy and truth shall meet together, Righteousness and peace shall kiss each other;
11 La vérité germera de la terre, et la justice regardera du haut du ciel.
Truth shall spring out of the earth; Righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yahweh lui-même accordera tout bien, et notre terre donnera son fruit.
Yea, Jehovah will give prosperity, And our land shall yield her increase.
13 La justice marchera devant lui, et tracera le chemin à ses pas.
Righteousness shall go before him, And set us in the way of his steps.
