Psaumes 68
1 Au maître de chant. Psaume de David. Cantique. Que Dieu se lève, et que ses ennemis soient dispersés, et que ceux qui le haïssent fuient devant sa face!
To him that excelleth. A Psalme or song of David. God will arise, and his enemies shalbe scattered: they also that hate him, shall flee before him.
2 Comme se dissipe la fumée, dissipe- les; comme la cire se fond au feu, que les méchants disparaissent devant Dieu!
As the smoke vanisheth, so shalt thou driue them away: and as waxe melteth before the fire, so shall the wicked perish at the presence of God.
3 Mais que les justes se réjouissent et tressaillent devant Dieu; qu’ils soient transportés d’allégresse!
But the righteous shalbe glad, and reioyce before God: yea, they shall leape for ioye.
4 Chantez à Dieu, célébrez son nom! Frayez le chemin à celui qui s’avance à travers les plaines! Yahweh est son nom; tressaillez devant lui!
Sing vnto God, and sing prayses vnto his name: exalt him that rideth vpon the heauens, in his Name Iah, and reioyce before him.
5 Il est père des orphelins et juge des veuves, Dieu dans sa sainte demeure.
He is a Father of the fatherlesse, and a Iudge of the widowes, euen God in his holy habitation.
6 Aux abandonnés Dieu donne une maison; il délivre les captifs et les rend au bonheur; seuls les rebelles restent au désert brûlant.
God maketh the solitarie to dwell in families, and deliuereth them that were prisoners in stocks: but the rebellious shall dwell in a dry land.
7 Ô Dieu, quand tu sortais à la tête de ton peuple, quand tu t’avançais dans le désert, — Séla.
O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people: when thou wentest through the wildernesse, (Selah)
8 la terre fut ébranlée, les cieux eux-mêmes se fondirent devant Dieu; le Sinaï trembla devant Dieu, le Dieu d’Israël.
The earth shooke, and the heauens dropped at the presence of this God: euen Sinai was moued at the presence of God, euen the God of Israel.
9 Tu fis tomber, ô Dieu, une pluie de bienfaits; ton héritage était épuisé, tu le réconfortas.
Thou, O God, sendest a gracious raine vpon thine inheritance, and thou didest refresh it when it was wearie.
10 Envoyés par toi, des animaux vinrent s’y abattre; dans ta bonté, ô Dieu, tu prépares leur aliment aux malheureux.
Thy Congregation dwelled therein: for thou, O God, hast of thy goodnesse prepared it for the poore.
11 Le Seigneur a fait entendre sa parole; les femmes qui annoncent la victoire sont une troupe nombreuse.
The Lord gaue matter to the women to tell of the great armie.
12 « Les rois des armées fuient, fuient, et celle qui habite la maison partage le butin. »
Kings of the armies did flee: they did flee, and she that remained in the house, deuided the spoyle.
13 Quand vous étiez couchés au milieu des bercails, les ailes de la colombe étaient recouvertes d’argent, et ses plumes brillaient de l’éclat de l’or.
Though ye haue lien among pots, yet shall ye be as the winges of a doue that is couered with siluer, and whose fethers are like yelowe golde.
14 Lorsque le Tout-Puissant dispersait les rois dans le pays, la neige tombait sur le Selmon.
When the Almightie scattered Kings in it, it was white as the snowe in Zalmon.
15 Montagne de Dieu, montagne de Basan, montagne aux cimes élevées, montagne de Basan,
The mountaine of God is like the mountaine of Bashan: it is an high Mountaine, as mount Bashan.
16 pourquoi regardez-vous avec envie, montagnes aux cimes élevées, la montagne que Dieu a voulue pour séjour? Oui, Yahweh y habitera à jamais!
Why leape ye, ye high mountaines? as for this Mountaine, God deliteth to dwell in it: yea, the Lord will dwell in it for euer.
17 Le char de Dieu, ce sont des milliers et des milliers; le Seigneur vient du Sinaï dans son sanctuaire.
The charets of God are twentie thousande thousand Angels, and the Lord is among them, as in the Sanctuarie of Sinai.
18 Tu montes sur la hauteur emmenant la foule des captifs; tu reçois les présents des hommes, Même les rebelles habiteront près de Yahweh Dieu!
Thou art gone vp on high: thou hast led captiuitie captiue, and receiued giftes for men: yea, euen the rebellious hast thou led, that the Lord God might dwell there.
19 Béni soit le Seigneur! Chaque jour il porte notre fardeau; il est le Dieu qui nous sauve. — Séla.
Praysed be the Lord, euen the God of our saluation, which ladeth vs dayly with benefites. (Selah)
20 Dieu est pour nous le Dieu des délivrances; Yahweh, le Seigneur, peut retirer de la mort.
This is our God, euen the God that saueth vs: and to the Lord God belong the issues of death.
21 Oui, Dieu brisera la tête de ses ennemis, le front chevelu de celui qui marche dans l’iniquité.
Surely God will wound the head of his enemies, and the hearie pate of him that walketh in his sinnes.
22 Le Seigneur a dit: « Je les ramènerai de Basan, je les ramènerai du fond de la mer,
The Lord hath sayde, I will bring my people againe from Bashan: I will bring them againe from the depths of the Sea:
23 afin que tu plonges ton pied dans le sang, et que la langue de tes chiens ait sa part des ennemis. »
That thy foote may bee dipped in blood, and the tongue of thy dogges in the blood of the enemies, euen in it.
24 On voit tes marches, ô Dieu, les marches de mon Dieu, de mon roi, au sanctuaire.
They haue seene, O God, thy goings, the goings of my God, and my King, which art in the Sanctuarie.
25 En avant sont les chanteurs, puis les musiciens, au milieu, des jeunes filles battant du tambourin.
The singers went before, the players of instruments after: in the middes were the maides playing with timbrels.
26 « Bénissez Dieu dans les assemblées, le Seigneur, vous qui êtes de la source d’Israël. »
Praise yee God in the assemblies, and the Lord, ye that are of the fountaine of Israel.
27 Voici Benjamin, le plus petit, qui domine sur eux; voici les princes de Juda avec leur troupe, les princes de Zabulon, les princes de Nephthali.
There was litle Beniamin with their ruler, and the princes of Iudah with their assemblie, the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
28 Commande, ô Dieu, à ta puissance, affermis, ô Dieu, ce que tu as fait pour nous.
Thy God hath appointed thy strength: stablish, O God, that, which thou hast wrought in vs,
29 À ton sanctuaire, qui s’élève au-dessus de Jérusalem, les rois t’offriront des présents.
Out of thy Temple vpon Ierusalem: and Kings shall bring presents vnto thee.
30 Menace la bête des roseaux, la troupe des taureaux avec les veaux des peuples, afin qu’ils se prosternent avec des pièces d’argent. Disperse les nations qui se plaisent aux combats!
Destroy the company of the spearemen, and multitude of the mightie bulles with the calues of the people, that tread vnder feete pieces of siluer: scatter the people that delite in warre.
31 Que les grands viennent de l’Égypte, que l’Éthiopie s’empresse de tendre les mains vers Dieu.
Then shall the princes come out of Egypt: Ethiopia shall hast to stretche her hands vnto God.
32 Royaumes de la terre, chantez à Dieu, célébrez le Seigneur! — Séla.
Sing vnto God, O yee kingdomes of the earth: sing praise vnto the Lord, (Selah)
33 Chantez à celui qui est porté sur les cieux, les cieux antiques. Voici qu’il fait entendre sa voix, voix puissante!…
To him that rideth vpon ye most high heauens, which were from the beginning: beholde, he will send out by his voice a mightie sound.
34 Reconnaissez la puissance de Dieu! Sa majesté est sur Israël, et sa puissance est dans les nuées.
Ascribe the power to God: for his maiestie is vpon Israel, and his strength is in the cloudes.
35 De ton sanctuaire, ô Dieu, tu es redoutable! Le Dieu d’Israël donne à son peuple force et puissance. Béni soit Dieu!
O God, thou art terrible out of thine holie places: the God of Israel is hee that giueth strength and power vnto the people: praised be God.
