Psaumes 21
1 Au maître de chant. Psaume de David. Yahweh, le roi se réjouit de ta force; comme ton secours le remplit d'allégresse!
Unto the end. A psalm for David. In thy strength, O Lord, the king shall joy; and in thy salvation he shall rejoice exceedingly.
2 Tu lui as donné ce que son cœur désirait, tu n'as pas refusé ce que demandaient ses lèvres. — Séla.
Thou hast given him his heart’s desire: and hast not withholden from him the will of his lips.
3 Car tu l'as prévenu de bénédictions exquises, tu as mis sur sa tête une couronne d'or pur.
For thou hast prevented him with blessings of sweetness: thou hast set on his head a crown of precious stones.
4 Il te demandait la vie, tu la lui as donnée, de longs jours à jamais et à perpétuité.
He asked life of thee: and thou hast given him length of days for ever and ever.
5 Sa gloire est grande, grâce à ton secours; tu mets sur lui splendeur et magnificence.
His glory is great in thy salvation: glory and great beauty shalt thou lay upon him.
6 Tu le rends à jamais un objet de bénédictions; tu le combles de joie devant ta face.
For thou shalt give him to be a blessing for ever and ever: thou shalt make him joyful in gladness with thy countenance.
7 Car le roi se confie en Yahweh, et par la bonté du Très-Haut il ne chancelle point.
For the king hopeth in the Lord: and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
8 Ta main, ô roi, atteindra tous tes ennemis, ta droite atteindra ceux qui te haïssent.
Let thy hand be found by all thy enemies: let thy right hand find out all them that hate thee.
9 Tu les rendras comme une fournaise ardente, au jour où tu montreras ta face; Yahweh les anéantira dans sa colère, et le feu les dévorera.
Thou shalt make them as an oven of fire, in the time of thy anger: the Lord shall trouble them in his wrath, and fire shall devour them.
10 Tu feras disparaître de la terre leur postérité, et leur race d'entre les enfants des hommes.
Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth: and their seed from among the children of men.
11 Ils ont préparé pour toi la ruine, ils ont conçu des desseins pervers, mais ils seront impuissants.
For they have intended evils against thee: they have devised counsels which they have not been able to establish.
12 Car tu leur feras tourner le dos; de tes traits tu les viseras au front.
For thou shalt make them turn their back: in thy remnants thou shalt prepare their face.
13 Lève-toi, Yahweh, dans ta force! Nous voulons chanter et célébrer ta puissance.
Be thou exalted, O Lord, in thy own strength: we will sing and praise thy power.
