Marc 9
1 Il ajouta: « Je vous le dis, en vérité, parmi ceux qui sont ici, quelques-uns ne goûteront point la mort, qu’ils n’aient vu le royaume de Dieu venir avec puissance. »
And he seide to hem, Treuli Y seie to you, that there ben summen stondynge here, whiche schulen not taste deth, til thei seen the rewme of God comynge in vertu.
2 Six jours après, Jésus prit avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean, et les conduisit seuls, à l’écart, sur une haute montagne, et il fut transfiguré devant eux.
And aftir sixe daies Jhesus took Petre, and James, and Joon, and ledde hem bi hem silf aloone in to an hiy hille; and he was transfigurid bifor hem.
3 Ses vêtements devinrent étincelants, d’une blancheur aussi éclatante que la neige, et tels qu’aucun foulon sur la terre ne saurait blanchir ainsi.
And hise clothis weren maad ful schynynge and white as snow, whiche maner white clothis a fuller may not make on erthe.
4 Puis Élie et Moïse leur apparurent, conversant avec Jésus.
And Helie with Moises apperide to hem, and thei spaken with Jhesu.
5 Pierre, prenant la parole, dit à Jésus: « Maître, il nous est bon d’être ici; dressons trois tentes, une pour vous, une pour Moïse, et une pour Élie. »
And Petre answeride, and seide to Jhesu, Maister, it is good vs to be here; and make we here thre tabernaclis, oon to thee, oon to Moyses, and oon to Helie.
6 Il ne savait ce qu’il disait, l’effroi les ayant saisis.
For he wiste not what he schulde seie; for thei weren agaste bi drede.
7 Et une nuée les couvrit de son ombre, et de la nuée sortit une voix: « Celui-ci est mon Fils bien-aimé; écoutez-le. »
And ther was maad a cloude overschadewynge hem; and a vois cam of the cloude, and seide, This is my moost derworth sone, here ye hym.
8 Aussitôt, regardant tout autour, ils ne virent plus personne, si ce n’est Jésus, seul avec eux.
And anoon thei bihelden aboute, and sayn no more ony man, but Jhesu oonli with hem.
9 Comme ils descendaient de la montagne, il leur défendit de raconter à personne ce qu’ils avaient vu, jusqu’à ce que le Fils de l’homme fût ressuscité des morts.
And whanne thei camen doun fro the hille, he comaundide hem, that thei schulden not telle to ony man tho thingis that thei hadden seen, but whanne mannus sone hath risun ayen fro deeth.
10 Et ils gardèrent pour eux la chose, tout en se demandant entre eux ce que signifiait ce mot: « être ressuscité des morts! »
And thei helden the word at hem silf, sekynge what this schulde be, whanne he hadde risun ayen fro deth.
11 Ils l’interrogèrent et lui dirent: « Pourquoi donc les Scribes disent-ils qu’il faut qu’Élie vienne auparavant? »
And thei axiden hym, and seiden, What thanne seien Farisees and scribis, for it bihoueth `Helie to come first.
12 Il leur répondit: « Élie doit venir auparavant, et rétablir toutes choses; et comment est-il écrit du Fils de l’homme qu’il doit souffrir beaucoup et être méprisé?
And he answeride, and seide to hem, Whanne Helie cometh, he schal first restore alle thingis; and as it is writun of mannus sone, that he suffre many thingis, and be dispisid.
13 Mais, je vous le dis, Élie est déjà venu, et ils l’ont traité comme ils ont voulu, selon qu’il est écrit de lui. »
And Y seie to you, that Helie is comun, and thei diden to hym what euer thingis thei wolden, as it is writun of hym.
14 Étant retourné vers ses disciples, il vit une grande foule autour d’eux, et des Scribes qui discutaient avec eux.
And he comynge to hise disciplis, saiy a greet cumpany aboute hem, and scribis disputynge with hem.
15 Toute la foule fut surprise de voir Jésus, et elle accourut aussitôt pour le saluer.
And anoon al the puple seynge Jhesu, was astonyed, and thei dredden; and thei rennynge gretten hym.
16 Il leur demanda: « Sur quoi discutez-vous avec eux? »
And he axide hem, What disputen ye among you?
17 Un homme de la foule lui répondit: « Maître, je vous ai amené mon fils, qui est possédé d’un esprit muet.
And oon of the cumpany answerde, and seide, Mayster, Y haue brouyt to thee my sone, that hath a doumbe spirit; and where euer he takith hym,
18 Partout où l’esprit s’empare de lui, il le jette contre terre, et l’ enfant écume, et grince des dents et il se dessèche; j’ai prié vos disciples de le chasser, et ils ne l’ont pu. —
he hurtlith hym doun, and he fometh, and betith togidir with teeth, and wexith drye. And Y seide to thi disciplis, that thei schulden caste hym out, and thei myyten not.
19 Ô race incrédule, leur dit Jésus, jusques à quand serai-je avec vous? Jusques à quand vous supporterai-je? Amenez-le-moi. »
And he answeride to hem, and seide, A! thou generacioun out of bileue, hou longe schal Y be among you, hou longe schal Y suffre you? Brynge ye hym to me.
20 On le lui amena. À sa vue, l’esprit agita soudain l’enfant avec violence; il tomba par terre et se roulait en écumant.
And thei brouyten hym. And whanne he had seyn him, anoon the spirit troublide him; and was throw doun to grounde, and walewide, and fomede.
21 Jésus demanda au père de l’enfant: « Combien y a-t-il de temps que cela lui arrive? — Depuis son enfance, répondit-il.
And he axide his fadir, Hou longe `is it, sith this `hath falle to hym? And he seide, Fro childhode;
22 Souvent l’esprit l’a jeté dans le feu et dans l’eau pour le faire périr; si vous pouvez quelque chose, ayez pitié de nous et secourez-nous. »
and ofte he hath put hym in to fier, and in to watir, to leese hym; but if thou maiste ony thing, helpe vs, and haue merci on vs.
23 Jésus lui dit: « Si vous pouvez (croire), tout est possible à celui qui croit. »
And Jhesus seide to hym, If thou maiste bileue, alle thingis ben possible to man that bileueth.
24 Aussitôt le père de l’enfant s’écria, disant avec larmes: « Je crois (Seigneur); venez au secours de mon incrédulité »
And anoon the fadir of the child criede with teeris, and seide, Lord, Y bileue; Lord, helpe thou myn vnbileue.
25 Jésus, voyant le peuple accourir en foule, menaça l’esprit impur, en disant: « Esprit sourd et muet, je te le commande, sors de cet enfant, et ne rentre plus en lui. »
And whanne Jhesus hadde seyn the puple rennynge togidere, he manasside the vnclene spirit, and seide to hym, Thou deef and doumbe spirit, Y comaunde thee, go out fro hym, and entre no more in to hym.
26 Alors, ayant poussé un grand cri, et l’ayant agité avec violence, il sortit, et l’enfant devint comme un cadavre, au point que plusieurs disaient: « Il est mort. »
And he criynge, and myche to breidynge him, wente out fro hym; and he was maad as deed, so that many seiden, that he was deed.
27 Mais Jésus, l’ayant pris par la main, le fit lever, et il se tint debout.
And Jhesus helde his hoond, and lifte hym vp; and he roos.
28 Lorsqu’il fut entré dans la maison, ses disciples lui demandèrent en particulier: « Pourquoi n’avons-nous pu chasser cet esprit? »
And whanne he hadde entrid in to an hous, hise disciplis axiden hym priueli, Whi myyten not we caste hym out?
29 Il leur dit: « Ce genre de démon ne peut être chassé que par la prière et le jeûne. »
And he seide to hem, This kynde in no thing may go out, but in preier and fastyng.
30 Étant partis de là, ils cheminèrent à travers la Galilée, et Jésus ne voulait pas qu’on le sût,
And thei yeden fro thennus, and wente forth in to Galile; and thei wolden not, that ony man wiste.
31 car il enseignait ses disciples et leur disait: « Le fils de l’homme sera livré entre les mains des hommes, et ils le feront mourir, et le troisième jour après sa mort il ressuscitera. »
And he tauyte hise disciplis, and seide to hem, For mannus sone schal be bitrayed in to the hondis of men, and thei schulen sle hym, and he slayn schal ryse ayen on the thridde day.
32 Mais ils ne comprenaient point cette parole, et ils craignaient de l’interroger.
And thei knewen not the word, and dredden to axe hym.
33 Ils arrivèrent à Capharnaüm. Lorsqu’il fut dans la maison, Jésus leur demanda: « De quoi parliez-vous en chemin? »
And thei camen to Cafarnaum. And whanne thei weren in the hous, he axide hem, What tretiden ye in the weie?
34 Mais ils gardèrent le silence, car en chemin ils avaient discuté entre eux qui était le plus grand.
And thei weren stille; for thei disputiden among hem in the weie, who of hem schulde be grettest.
35 Alors ils s’assit, appela les Douze et leur dit: « Si quelqu’un veut être le premier, il sera le dernier de tous, et le serviteur de tous. »
And he sat, and clepide the twelue, and seide to hem, If ony man wole be the firste among you, he schal be the laste of alle, and the mynyster of alle.
36 Puis, prenant un petit enfant, il le mit au milieu d’eux; et après l’avoir embrassé, il leur dit:
And he took a child, and sette hym in the myddil of hem; and whanne he hadde biclippid hym, he seide to hem,
37 « Quiconque reçoit en mon nom un de ces petits enfants, me reçoit; et quiconque me reçoit, ce n’est pas moi qu’il reçoit, mais celui qui m’a envoyé. »
Who euer resseyueth oon of such children in my name, he resseyueth me; and who euer resseyueth me, he resseyueth not me aloone, but hym that sente me.
38 Jean, prenant la parole, lui dit: « Maître, nous avons vu un homme qui ne va pas avec nous, chasser les démons en votre nom, et nous l’en avons empêché. —
Joon answeride to hym, and seide, Maister, we sayn oon castynge out feendis in thi name, which sueth not vs, and we han forbodun hym.
39 Ne l’en empêchez pas, dit Jésus; car personne ne peut faire de miracle en mon nom, et aussitôt après parler mal de moi.
And Jhesus seide, Nyle ye forbede him; for ther is no man that doith vertu in my name, and may soone speke yuel of me.
40 Qui n’est pas contre nous, est pour nous.
He that is not ayens vs, is for vs.
41 Car quiconque vous donnera un verre d’eau en mon nom, parce que vous êtes au Christ, je vous le dis, en vérité, il ne perdra pas sa récompense.
And who euer yyueth you a cuppe of coold water to drynke in my name, for ye ben of Crist, treuli Y seie to you, he schal not leese his mede.
42 Et quiconque sera une occasion de chute pour un de ces petits qui croient en moi, il vaudrait mieux pour lui qu’on lui attachât au cou la meule qu’un âne tourne, et qu’on le jetât dans la mer.
And who euer schal sclaundre oon of these litle that bileuen in me, it were betere to hym that a mylne stoon `of assis were don aboute his necke, and he were cast in to the see.
43 Si ta main est pour toi une occasion de chute, coupe-la: mieux vaut pour toi entrer mutilé dans la vie, que d’aller, ayant deux mains, dans la géhenne, dans le feu inextinguible, (Geenna g1067)
And if thin hoond sclaundre thee, kitte it awey; it is betere to thee to entre feble in to lijf, than haue two hondis, and go in to helle, in to fier that neuer schal be quenchid, (Geenna g1067)
44 là où leur ver ne meurt point, et où le feu ne s’éteint point.
where the worm of hem dieth not, and the fier is not quenchid.
45 Et si ton pied est pour toi une occasion de chute, coupe-le: mieux vaut pour toi entrer boiteux dans la vie, que d’être jeté, ayant deux pieds, dans la géhenne du feu inextinguible, (Geenna g1067)
And if thi foote sclaundre thee, kitte it of; it is betere to thee to entre crokid in to euerlastynge lijf, than haue twei feet, and be sent in to helle of fier, that neuer schal be quenchid, (Geenna g1067)
46 là où leur ver ne meurt point, et où le feu ne s’éteint point.
where the worme of hem dieth not, and the fier is not quenchid.
47 Et si ton œil est pour toi une occasion de chute, arrache-le: mieux vaut pour toi entrer avec un seul œil dans le royaume de Dieu, que d’être jeté, ayant deux yeux, dans la géhenne du feu, (Geenna g1067)
That if thin iye sclaundre thee, cast it out; it is betere to thee to entre gogil iyed in to the reume of God, than haue twey iyen, and be sent in to helle of fier, where the worme of hem dieth not, (Geenna g1067)
48 là où leur ver ne meurt point, et où le feu ne s’éteint point.
and the fier is not quenchid.
49 Car tout homme sera salé par le feu, et toute offrande sera salée avec du sel.
And euery man schal be saltid with fier, and euery slayn sacrifice schal be maad sauery with salt.
50 Le sel est bon; mais si le sel s’affadit, avec quoi lui donnerez-vous de la saveur? Gardez bien le sel en vous, et soyez en paix les uns avec les autres. »
Salt is good; if salt be vnsauery, in what thing schulen ye make it sauery? Haue ye salt among you, and haue ye pees among you.
