Marc 11
1 Comme ils approchaient de Jérusalem, aux environs de Betphagé et Béthanie, vers la montagne des Oliviers, Jésus envoya deux de ses disciples,
Now when they were approaching Jerusalem, near Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives,
2 en leur disant: " Allez au village qui est devant vous; dès que vous y serez entrés, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel nul homme ne s'est encore assis: détachez-le et amenez-le-moi.
Jesus sent two of his disciples and told them. "Go to that village in front of you, and immediately on entering it you will find a colt tied, upon which no man has ever sat; untie him and bring him here.
3 Et si quelqu'un vous dit: Que faites-vous? répondez: Le Seigneur en a besoin; et aussitôt il va le renvoyer ici. "
And if any man asks you, ‘Why are you doing that?" answer, ‘The Lord has need of him, and he will immediately send him back.’"
4 S'en étant allés, les disciples trouvèrent un ânon attaché à une porte, en dehors, au tournant du chemin, et ils le détachèrent.
So they went and found a colt tied outside a door, in the open street, and untied it.
5 Quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là leur dirent: " Que faites-vous de détacher cet ânon? "
And some of the bystanders began to say to them, "What are you trying to do, untying that colt?"
6 Ils répondirent comme Jésus le leur avait commandé, et on les laissa faire.
So they answered them just as Jesus had told them, and they let them take it.
7 Et ils amenèrent l'ânon à Jésus, et ils mirent dessus leurs manteaux, et Jésus s'y assit.
Then they brought the colt to Jesus, and when they had thrown cloaks upon it, Jesus seated himself on it.
8 Un grand nombre étendirent leurs manteaux le long de la route; d'autres, ayant coupé des branches d'arbres, en jonchèrent le chemin.
Then many spread their cloaks on the road, and others, soft leafy branches, which they had cut from the fields;
9 Et ceux qui marchaient devant, et ceux qui suivaient, criaient: " Hosanna! Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!
and those who went before him and those who came after kept shouting. "Hosanna! Blessed be He who comes in the name of the Lord!
10 Béni soit le règne de David notre père, qui va commencer! Hosanna au plus haut des cieux! "
Blessed be the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna, in the highest!"
11 Et il entra à Jérusalem, dans le temple; et ayant observé toutes choses, comme déjà l'heure était avancée, il s'en alla à Béthanie avec les Douze.
Then he entered Jerusalem and went into the Temple, and after he had looked around at everything, as the hour was now late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.
12 Le lendemain, après qu'ils furent sortis de Béthanie, il eut faim.
The next day after leaving Bethany he was hungry,
13 Apercevant de loin un figuier couvert de feuilles, il s'avança pour voir s'il n'y trouverait pas quelque fruit; et s'en étant approché, il n'y trouva que des feuilles; car ce n'était pas la saison des figues.
and seeing a fig tree in the distance full of leaves, he came to see if he could find anything on it, and found on it nothing but leaves (for it was not the time of figs).
14 Alors il dit au figuier: " Qu'à jamais personne ne mange plus de ton fruit! " Ce que ses disciples entendirent. (aiōn g165)
So, addressing the tree, he said, "Let no man ever more eat fruit from you." And the disciples heard it. (aiōn g165)
15 Ils arrivèrent à Jérusalem. Jésus étant entré dans le temple, se mit à chasser ceux qui vendaient et achetaient dans le temple, et il renversa les tables des changeurs, et les sièges de ceux qui vendaient des colombes,
Presently they reached Jerusalem, and, after entering the Temple courts, Jesus began to drive out those who were buying and selling there, and to upset the tables of the money-changers, and the stalls of those who sold doves,
16 et il ne souffrait pas que personne transportât aucun objet à travers le temple.
and he would not allow any one to carry a vessel through the Temple courts, Then he began to teach.
17 Et il enseignait, en disant: " N'est-il pas écrit: Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière pour toutes les nations? Mais vous, vous en avez fait une caverne de voleurs. "
"Is it not written," he said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations? But you have made it a den of robbers."
18 Ce qu'ayant entendu, les Princes des prêtres et les Scribes cherchaient les moyens de le faire périr; car ils le craignaient, parce que tout le peuple admirait sa doctrine.
The chief priests and the Scribes heard this, and they began to seek means of destroying him; for they were afraid of him because all the crowd were greatly struck with his teaching.
19 Le soir étant venu, Jésus sortit de la ville.
Now every evening he used to go outside the city;
20 Or, en repassant de grand matin, les disciples virent le figuier desséché jusqu'à la racine.
and as they (he and his disciples) were passing along in the morning, they saw the fig tree already withered from the root.
21 Et Pierre, se ressouvenant, dit à Jésus: " Maître, voilà que le figuier que vous avez maudit a séché. "
Then Peter remembered, and exclaimed, "Look, Rabbi, the fig tree which you cursed is withered up."
22 Jésus leur répondit: " Ayez foi en Dieu.
"Take hold on God’s faithfulness," said Jesus to them in reply.
23 Je vous le dis, en vérité, si quelqu'un dit à cette montagne: Ote-toi de là, et te jette dans la mer, et s'il ne doute pas dans son cœur, mais qu'il croie que ce qu'il dit arrivera, il le verra s'accomplir.
"In solemn truth I tell you that if any one shall say to this mountain, ‘Up and hurl yourself into the sea!’ and shall not doubt in his heart, but on the contrary shall believe that what he says will happen, it will be granted him.
24 C'est pourquoi, je vous le dis, tout ce que vous demanderez dans la prière, croyez que vous l'obtiendrez, et vous le verrez s'accomplir.
That is why I am telling you that whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it shall be yours.
25 Lorsque vous êtes debout pour faire votre prière, si vous avez quelque chose contre quelqu'un, pardonnez, afin que votre Père qui est dans les cieux vous pardonne aussi vos offenses.
And whenever you stand up to pray, forgive, if you have anything against any one, that so your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses."
26 Si vous ne pardonnez pas, votre Père qui est dans les cieux ne vous pardonnera pas non plus vos offenses. "
27 Ils arrivèrent de nouveau à Jérusalem. Pendant que Jésus se promenait dans le temple, les Princes des prêtres, les Scribes et les Anciens s'approchèrent de lui,
Once more they came into Jerusalem; and as he was walking in the Temple courts, there came to him the high priests and Scribes and elders and asked him.
28 et lui dirent: " Par quel pouvoir faites-vous ces choses? Qui vous a donné pouvoir de les faire? "
"By what authority do you do these things? or who gave you this authority to do these things?"
29 Jésus leur dit: " Je vous ferai, moi aussi, une question; répondez-moi et je vous dirai par quel pouvoir je fais ces choses.
"And I will put one question to you," replied Jesus. "Answer this, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
30 Le baptême de Jean, était-il du ciel ou des hommes? Répondez-moi. "
The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men? Answer me!"
31 Mais ils faisaient en eux-mêmes cette réflexion: " Si nous répondons: Du ciel, il dira: Pourquoi donc n'avez-vous pas cru en lui.
Then they began arguing with one another. "If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Why then did you not believe him?"
32 Si nous répondons: des hommes... " Ils craignaient le peuple; car tous tenaient Jean pour un véritable prophète.
On the other hand, if we say, ‘From men’!"They were afraid, however, of the people, for every one held that Johnhad been really a prophet.
33 Ils répondirent donc à Jésus: " Nous ne savons — Et moi, dit Jésus, je ne vous dirai pas non plus par quelle autorité je fais ces choses. "
So their answer to Jesus was, "We do not know." "Neither will I tell you," said Jesus, "by what authority I do these things."
