Luc 10
1 Après cela, le Seigneur en désigna encore soixante-douze autres, et les envoya devant lui, deux à deux, dans toutes les villes et tous les lieux où lui-même devait aller.
And after these things, the LORD also appointed seventy others, and sent them by twos before His face, to every city and place to where He Himself was about to come,
2 Il leur dit: « La moisson est grande, mais les ouvriers sont en petit nombre. Priez donc le maître de la moisson d’envoyer des ouvriers à sa moisson.
then He said to them, “The harvest [is] indeed abundant, but the workmen few; implore then the Lord of the harvest, that He may put forth workmen to His harvest.
3 Partez: voici que je vous envoie comme des agneaux au milieu des loups.
Go away; behold, I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves;
4 Ne portez ni bourse, ni sac, ni souliers, et ne saluez personne en chemin.
carry no bag, no leather pouch, nor sandals; and greet no one on the way;
5 Dans quelque maison que vous entriez, dites d’abord: Paix à cette maison!
and into whatever house you enter, first say, Peace to this house;
6 Et s’il s’y trouve un enfant de paix, votre paix reposera sur lui; sinon, elle reviendra à vous.
and if indeed there may be there the son of peace, your peace will rest on it; and if not so, it will turn back on you.
7 Demeurez dans la même maison, mangeant et buvant de ce qu’il y aura chez eux; car l’ouvrier mérite son salaire. Ne passez pas d’une maison dans une autre.
And remain in that house, eating and drinking the things they have, for worthy [is] the workman of his hire; do not go from house to house,
8 Dans quelque ville que vous entriez, si l’on vous reçoit, mangez ce qu’on vous présentera;
and into whatever city you enter, and they may receive you, eat the things set before you,
9 guérissez les malades qui s’y trouveront, et dites-leur: Le royaume de Dieu est proche de vous.
and heal the ailing in it, and say to them, The Kingdom of God has come near to you.
10 Mais dans quelque ville que vous entriez, si l’on ne vous reçoit pas, allez sur les places publiques et dites:
And into whatever city you enter, and they may not receive you, having gone forth to its broad places, say,
11 La poussière même de votre ville, qui s’est attachée à nous, nous l’essuyons contre vous; sachez cependant ceci, c’est que le royaume de Dieu est proche.
And the dust that has cleaved to us from your city, we wipe off against you, but know this, that the Kingdom of God has come near to you;
12 Je vous le dis, il y aura, en ce jour-là, moins de rigueur pour Sodome que pour cette ville.
and I say to you that it will be more tolerable for Sodom in that day than for that city.
13 Malheur à toi, Corozaïn! Malheur à toi, Bethsaïde! Car si les miracles qui ont été faits au milieu de vous, l’avaient été dans Tyr et dans Sidon, elles auraient depuis longtemps fait pénitence, assises sous le cilice et la cendre.
Woe to you, Chorazin; woe to you, Bethsaida; for if the mighty works that were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they had converted long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes;
14 C’est pourquoi, il y aura, au jugement, moins de rigueur pour Tyr et pour Sidon que pour vous.
but it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.
And you, Capernaum, which were exalted to Heaven, you will be brought down to Hades. (Hadēs g86)
16 Celui qui vous écoute, m’écoute, et celui qui vous méprise, me méprise; or celui qui me méprise, méprise Celui qui m’a envoyé. »
He who is hearing you, hears Me; and he who is putting you away, puts Me away; and he who is putting Me away, puts away Him who sent Me.”
17 Les soixante-douze revinrent avec joie, disant: « Seigneur, les démons mêmes nous sont soumis en votre nom. »
And the seventy turned back with joy, saying, “Lord, and the demons are being subjected to us in Your Name”;
18 Il leur répondit: « Je contemplais Satan tombant du ciel comme la foudre.
and He said to them, “I was beholding Satan having fallen as lightning from Heaven;
19 Voilà que je vous ai donné le pouvoir de fouler aux pieds les serpents et les scorpions, et toute la puissance de l’ennemi, et elle ne pourra vous nuire en rien.
behold, I give to you the authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and on all the power of the enemy, and nothing by any means will hurt you;
20 Seulement ne vous réjouissez pas de ce que les esprits vous sont soumis; mais réjouissez-vous de ce que vos noms sont écrits dans les cieux. »
but do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subjected to you, but rejoice rather that your names were written in the heavens.”
21 Au même moment, il tressaillit de joie sous l’action de l’Esprit-Saint, et il dit: « Je vous bénis, ô Père, Seigneur du ciel et de la terre, de ce que vous avez caché ces choses aux sages et aux prudents, et les avez révélées aux petits enfants. Oui, je vous bénis, ô Père, de ce qu’il vous a plu ainsi.
In that hour Jesus was glad in the Spirit and said, “I confess to You, Father, Lord of Heaven and of earth, that You hid these things from wise men and understanding, and revealed them to babies; yes, Father, because so it became good pleasure before You.
22 Toutes choses m’ont été données par mon Père; et personne ne sait ce qu’est le Fils, si ce n’est le Père, et ce qu’est le Père, si ce n’est le Fils, et celui à qui le Fils veut bien le révéler. »
All things were delivered up to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whom the Son may resolve to reveal [Him].”
23 Et se tournant vers ses disciples, il leur dit en particulier: « Heureux les yeux qui voient ce que vous voyez!
And having turned to the disciples, He said, by themselves, “Blessed the eyes that are perceiving what you perceive;
24 Car, je vous le dis, beaucoup de prophètes et de rois ont désiré voir ce que vous voyez, et ne l’ont pas vu, entendre ce que vous entendez, et ne l’ont pas entendu. »
for I say to you that many prophets and kings wished to see what you perceive, and did not see, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear.”
25 Et voici qu’un docteur de la Loi, s’étant levé, lui dit pour l’éprouver: « Maître, que ferai-je pour posséder la vie éternelle? » (aiōnios g166)
And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, trying Him, and saying, “Teacher, what having done, will I inherit continuous life?” (aiōnios g166)
26 Jésus lui dit: « Qu’y a-t-il d’écrit dans la Loi? Qu’y lis-tu? »
And He said to him, “In the Law what has been written? How do you read [it]?”
27 Il répondit: « Tu aimeras le Seigneur ton Dieu de tout cœur, de toute ton âme, de toute tes forces et de tout ton esprit, et ton prochain comme toi-même. »
And he answering said, “You will love the LORD your God out of all your heart, and out of all your soul, and out of all your strength, and out of all your understanding, and your neighbor as yourself.”
28 Jésus lui dit: « Tu as bien répondu, fais cela et tu vivras. »
And He said to him, “You answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”
29 Mais cet homme, voulant se justifier, dit à Jésus: « Et qui est mon prochain? »
And he, willing to declare himself righteous, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 Jésus reprit: « Un homme descendait de Jérusalem à Jéricho; il tomba entre les mains des brigands, qui le dépouillèrent, et l’ayant chargé de coups, se retirèrent, le laissant à demi-mort.
And Jesus having taken up [the word], said, “A certain man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and having stripped him and inflicted blows, they went away, leaving [him] half dead.
31 Or, il arriva qu’un prêtre descendait par le même chemin; il vit cet homme et passa outre.
And by a coincidence a certain priest was going down in that way, and having seen him, he passed over on the opposite side;
32 De même un lévite, étant venu dans ce lieu, s’approcha, le vit et passa outre.
and in like manner also, a Levite, having been around the place, having come and seen, passed over on the opposite side.
33 Mais un Samaritain, qui était en voyage, arriva près de lui, et, le voyant, fut touché de compassion.
But a certain Samaritan, journeying, came along him, and having seen him, he was moved with compassion,
34 Il s’approcha, banda ses plaies, après y avoir versé de l’huile et du vin; puis il le mit sur sa propre monture, le mena dans une hôtellerie, et prit soin de lui.
and having come near, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine, and having lifted him up on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and was careful of him;
35 Le lendemain, tirant deux deniers, il les donna à l’hôte et lui dit: Aie soin de cet homme, et tout ce que tu dépenseras de plus, je te le rendrai à mon retour.
and on the next day, going forth, taking out two denarii, he gave to the innkeeper and said to him, Be careful of him, and whatever you may spend more, I, in my coming again, will give back to you.
36 Lequel de ces trois te semble avoir été le prochain de l’homme qui tomba entre les mains des brigands? »
Who, then, of these three, seems to you to have become neighbor of him who fell among the robbers?”
37 Le docteur répondit: « Celui qui a pratiqué la miséricorde envers lui. » Et Jésus lui dit: « Toi aussi, va et fais de même. »
And he said, “He who did the kindness with him,” then Jesus said to him, “Be going on, and you be doing in like manner.”
38 Pendant qu’ils étaient en chemin, Jésus entra dans un village, et une femme, nommée Marthe, le reçut dans sa maison.
And it came to pass, in their going on, that He entered into a certain village, and a certain woman, by name Martha, received Him into her house,
39 Elle avait une sœur, nommée Marie, qui, s’étant assise aux pieds du Seigneur, écoutait sa parole,
and she also had a sister, called Mary, who also, having seated herself beside the feet of Jesus, was hearing the word,
40 tandis que Marthe s’empressait aux divers soins du service. S’étant donc arrêtée: « Seigneur, dit-elle, ne vous mettez-vous pas en peine que ma sœur m’ait laissée servir seule? Dites-lui donc de m’aider. »
and Martha was distracted about much serving, and having stood by Him, she said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister left me alone to serve? Say then to her that she may partake along with me.”
41 Le Seigneur lui répondit: « Marthe, Marthe, vous vous inquiétez et vous agitez pour beaucoup de choses.
And Jesus answering said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and disquieted about many things,
42 Une seule est nécessaire. Marie a choisi la bonne part, qui ne lui sera point ôtée. »
but of one thing there is need, and Mary chose the good part; that will not be taken away from her.”
