Juges 6
1 Les enfants d’Israël firent ce qui est mal aux yeux de Yahweh, et Yahweh les livra entre les mains de Madian, pendant sept ans.
And they did [the] people of Israel the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh and he gave them Yahweh in [the] hand of Midian seven years.
2 La main de Madian fut puissante contre Israël. À cause de Madian, les enfants d’Israël se firent les antres qui sont dans les montagnes, les cavernes et les hauteurs fortifiées.
And it prevailed [the] hand of Midian over Israel because of Midian they made for themselves - [the] people of Israel the dens which [are] in the mountains and the caves and the strongholds.
3 Quand Israël avait semé, Madian montait avec Amalec et les fils de l’Orient, et ils marchaient contre lui.
And it was if it sowed Israel and it went up Midian and Amalek and [the] people of [the] east and they went up on him.
4 Campés en face d’ Israël, ils dévastaient les productions de le terre jusque près de Gaza, et ne laissaient aucune subsistance en Israël, ni brebis, ni bœufs, ni ânes.
And they encamped on them and they destroyed [the] produce of the land until coming you Gaza and not they left sustenance in Israel and a sheep and an ox and a donkey.
5 Car ils montaient avec leurs troupeaux et leurs tentes, et venaient nombreux comme des nuées de sauterelles; eux et leurs chameaux étaient innombrables, et ils venaient dans le pays pour le dévaster.
For they and livestock their they came up and tents their (and they came *Q(K)*) according to [the] abundance of locust[s] for multitude and [belonged] to them and to camels their not number and they came in the land to destroy it.
6 Israël fut très affaibli à cause de Madian, et les enfants d’Israël crièrent vers Yahweh.
And it became low Israel very because of Midian and they cried out [the] people of Israel to Yahweh.
7 Lorsque les enfants d’Israël eurent crié vers Yahweh au sujet de Madian,
And it was that they cried out [the] people of Israel to Yahweh on [the] causes of Midian.
8 Yahweh envoya un prophète aux enfants d’Israël. Il leur dit: « Ainsi parle Yahweh le Dieu d’Israël: Je vous ai fait monter de l’Égypte, et je vous ai fait sortir de la maison de servitude.
And he sent Yahweh a man a prophet to [the] people of Israel and he said to them thus he says Yahweh - [the] God of Israel I I brought up you from Egypt and I brought out you from a house of slaves.
9 Je vous ai délivrés de la main des Égyptiens et de la main de tous vos oppresseurs; je les ai chassés devant vous, et je vous ai donné leur pays.
And I delivered you from [the] hand of Egypt and from [the] hand of all [those who] oppressed you and I drove out them from before you and I gave! to you land their.
10 Je vous ai dit: je suis Yahweh, votre Dieu; vous ne craindrez point les dieux des Amorrhéens dans le pays desquels vous habitez. Mais vous n’avez pas écouté ma voix. »
And I said! to you I [am] Yahweh God your not you must fear [the] gods of the Amorite[s] whom you [are] dwelling in land their and not you have listened to voice my.
11 Et l’Ange de Yahweh vint, et il s’assit sous le térébinthe d’Ephra, qui apporterait à Joas, de la famille d’Abiéser. Gédéon, son fils, battait le froment dans le pressoir, pour le mettre à l’abri de Madian.
And he came [the] angel of Yahweh and he sat under the oak which [was] in Ophrah which [belonged] to Joash [the] Abi-ezrite and Gideon son his [was] beating out wheat in the winepress to hide [it] from Midian.
12 L’Ange de Yahweh lui apparut et lui dit: « Yahweh est avec toi, vaillant héros. »
And he appeared to him [the] angel of Yahweh and he said to him Yahweh [is] with you O mighty [man] of strength.
13 Gédéon lui dit: « Ah! mon seigneur, si Yahweh est avec nous, pourquoi toutes ces choses nous sont-elles arrivées? Et où sont tous ses prodiges que nos pères nous ont racontés, en disant: Yahweh ne nous a-t-il pas fait monter de l’Égypte? Et maintenant Yahweh nous abandonne et nous livre entre les mains de Madian. »
And he said to him Gideon pardon me O lord my and there Yahweh [is] with us and why? has it found us all this and where? [are] all wonders his which they recounted to us fathers our saying ¿ not from Egypt did he bring up us Yahweh and now he has abandoned us Yahweh and he has given us in [the] hand of Midian.
14 Yahweh se tourna vers lui et dit: « Va avec cette force que tu as, et délivre Israël de la main de Madian; ne t’ai-je pas envoyé? »
And he turned to him Yahweh and he said go in strength your this and you will deliver Israel from [the] hand of Midian ¿ not have I sent you.
15 Gédéon lui dit: « Ah! Seigneur, avec quoi délivrerai-je Israël? Voici, ma famille est la plus pauvre en Manassé, et je suis le plus petit dans la maison de mon père. »
And he said to him pardon me O Lord how? will I deliver Israel here! family my [is] the weak in Manasseh and I [am] the insignificant in [the] house of father my.
16 Yahweh lui dit: « Je serai avec toi, et tu battras Madian comme un seul homme. »
And he said to him Yahweh that I will be with you and you will strike down Midian like a man one.
17 Gédéon lui dit: « Si j’ai trouvé grâce à vos yeux, donnez-moi un signe que c’est vous qui me parlez.
And he said to him if please I have found favor in view your and you will do for me a sign that you [are] speaking with me.
18 Ne vous éloignez point d’ici jusqu’à ce que je revienne auprès de vous, que j’apporte mon offrande et que je la dépose devant vous. » Et Yahweh dit: « Je resterai jusqu’à ce que tu reviennes. »
May not please you depart from here until come I to you and I will bring out gift my and I will set [it] before you and he said I I will remain until returning you.
19 Gédéon, étant entré, apprêta un chevreau et, avec un épha de farine, il fit des pains sans levain; puis, ayant mis la chair dans une corbeille et le jus dans un vase, il les lui apporta sous le térébinthe et les lui offrit.
And Gideon he went and he prepared a kid of goats and an ephah of flour of unleavened bread the meat he put in the basket and the broth he put in the pot and he brought [them] out to him to under the oak and he brought [them] near.
20 L’Ange de Yahweh lui dit: « Prends la chair et les pains sans levain, pose-les sur ce rocher, et verse le jus. » Et il fit ainsi.
And he said to him [the] angel of God take the meat and the unleavened bread and set [them] to the rock this and the broth pour out and he did so.
21 L’Ange de Yahweh étendit l’extrémité du bâton qu’il avait à la main, et toucha la chair et les pains sans levain. Aussitôt le feu s’éleva du rocher, et consuma la chair et les pains sans levain, et l’Ange de Yahweh disparut à ses yeux.
And he stretched out [the] angel of Yahweh [the] end of the staff which [was] in hand his and he touched the meat and the unleavened bread and it went up the fire from the rock and it consumed the meat and the unleavened bread and [the] angel of Yahweh he went from eyes his.
22 Gédéon vit que c’était l’Ange de Yahweh et Gédéon dit: « Malheur à moi, Seigneur Yahweh, car j’ai vu l’Ange de Yahweh face à face. »
And he saw Gideon that [was] [the] angel of Yahweh it. And he said Gideon alas! O Lord Yahweh for since I have seen [the] angel of Yahweh face to face.
23 Yahweh lui dit: « Sois en paix, ne crains point, tu ne mourras pas. »
And he said to him Yahweh peace [be] to you may not you be afraid not you will die.
24 Gédéon bâtit là un autel à Yahweh et l’appela: « Yahweh-Schalôm; » cet autel existe encore aujourd’hui à Ephra d’Abiéser.
And he built there Gideon an altar to Yahweh and he called it Yahweh [is] peace until the day this still it [is] in Ophrah of [the] Abi-ezrite[s].
25 Cette nuit-là, Yahweh dit à Gédéon: « Prends le jeune taureau de ton père, et le second taureau de sept ans. Renverse l’autel de Baal qui est à ton père, et coupe l’aschéra qui est auprès.
And it was in the night that and he said to him Yahweh take [the] young bull of the ox which [belongs] to father your and [the] young bull the second seven years and you will tear down [the] altar of Baal which [belongs] to father your and the Asherah pole which [is] at it you will cut down.
26 Tu bâtiras ensuite, au sommet de ce lieu fort, un autel à Yahweh, ton Dieu, et tu le disposeras; tu prendras le second taureau et tu offriras un holocauste avec le bois de l’aschéra que tu auras coupée. »
And you will build an altar to Yahweh God your on [the] top of the place of refuge this in the row and you will take the young bull second and you will offer up a burnt offering with [the] wood of the Asherah pole which you will cut down.
27 Gédéon prit dix hommes parmi ses serviteurs, et exécuta ce que Yahweh lui avait dit: mais, comme il n’osait le faire de jour par crainte de la maison de son père et des gens de la ville, il le fit de nuit.
And he took Gideon ten men from servants his and he did just as he had spoken to him Yahweh and it was since he feared [the] household of father his and [the] men of the city from acting by day and he acted night.
28 Lorsque les gens de la ville se levèrent le lendemain matin, voici que l’autel de Baal était renversé, que l’aschéra qui était auprès était coupée, et que le second taureau était offert en holocauste sur l’autel récemment bâti.
And they rose early [the] men of the city in the morning and there! it was torn down [the] altar of Baal and the Asherah pole which [was] at it it was cut down and the young bull second it had been offered up on the altar which had been built.
29 Ils se dirent l’un à l’autre: « Qui a fait cela? » et ils s’informèrent et firent des recherches. On leur dit: « C’est Gédéon, fils de Joas, qui a fait cela. »
And they said each to neighbor his who? has he done the thing this and they investigated and they searched and they said Gideon [the] son of Joash he has done the thing this.
30 Alors les gens de la ville dirent à Joas: « Fais sortir ton fils et qu’il meure, car il a renversé l’autel de Baal et coupé l’aschéra qui était auprès. »
And they said [the] men of the city to Joash bring out son your so may he die for he has torn down [the] altar of Baal and for he has cut down the Asherah pole which [was] at it.
31 Joas dit à tous ceux qui se tenaient là contre lui: « Est-ce à vous de prendre parti pour Baal? Ou bien est-ce à vous de le secourir? Quiconque prendra parti pour Baal sera mis à mort avant demain matin. Si Baal est Dieu, que lui-même prenne en main sa cause, puisqu’on a renversé son autel! »
And he said Joash to all [those] who they stood on him ¿ you - will you conduct a case! for Baal or? you will you deliver! him [the one] who he will conduct a case for him he will be put to death until the morning if [is] a god he let him conduct a case for himself if someone has torn down altar his.
32 En ce jour, un donna à Gédéon le nom de Jérobaal, en disant: « Que Baal se défende contre lui, puisqu’il a renversé son autel! »
And someone called him on the day that Jerub-Baal saying let him conduct a case against him Baal for he has torn down altar his.
33 Tout Madian, Amalec et les fils de l’Orient se rassemblèrent et, ayant passé le Jourdain, ils campèrent dans la plaine de Jezraël.
And all Midian and Amalek and [the] people of [the] east they gathered together and they passed over and they encamped in [the] valley of Jezreel.
34 L’Esprit de Yahweh revêtit Gédéon; il sonna de la trompette, et les Abiésérites s’assemblèrent pour marcher à sa suite.
And [the] spirit of Yahweh it clothed Gideon and he gave a blast on the ram's horn (and it was called together *L(abh)*) Abiezer after him.
35 Il envoya des messagers dans tout Manassé, qui s’assembla aussi pour le suivre. Il envoya des messagers dans Aser, dans Zabulon et dans Nephtali, et ils montèrent à leur rencontre.
And messengers he sent in all Manasseh (and it was called together *L(abh)*) also it after him and messengers he sent in Asher and in Zebulun and in Naphtali and they went up to meet them.
36 Gédéon dit à Dieu: « Si vous voulez sauver Israël par ma main, comme vous l’avez dit,
And he said Gideon to God if there you [are] about to deliver by hand my Israel just as you have spoken.
37 voici, je mettrai une toison de laine sur l’aire: si la toison seule se couvre de rosée, et que tout le sol alentour reste sec, je connaîtrai que vous délivrerez Israël par ma main, comme vous l’avez dit. »
Here! I [am] placing [the] fleece of wool on the threshing floor if dew it will be on the fleece to alone it and [will be] on all the ground dryness and I will know that you will deliver by hand my Israel just as you have spoken.
38 Et il arriva ainsi. Le jour suivant, s’étant levé de bon matin, il pressa la toison, et en fit sortir la rosée, plein une coupe d’eau.
And it was so and he rose early from [the] next day and he squeezed out the fleece and he drained dew from the fleece [the] fullness of the bowl water.
39 Gédéon dit à Dieu: « Que votre colère ne s’enflamme pas contre moi; que je puisse encore parler une fois: je voudrais une fois encore seulement faire une épreuve avec la toison: que la toison seule reste sèche, et que la rosée tombe sur tout le sol alentour. »
And he said Gideon to God may not it burn anger your on me and let me speak only this time let me put to [the] test please only this time by the fleece let it be please dryness to the fleece to alone it and on all the ground let it be dew.
40 Et Dieu fit ainsi cette nuit-là: la toison seule resta sèche, et tout le sol se couvrit de rosée.
And he did God so in the night that and it was dryness to the fleece to alone it and on all the ground it was dew.
