Jérémie 48
1 À Moab. Ainsi parle Yahweh des armées, Dieu d’Israël: Malheur à Nabo, car elle est ravagée; Cariathaïm est couverte de honte, elle est prise; la forteresse est couverte de honte, elle est abattue;

2 elle n’est plus, la gloire de Moab! À Hésebon on médite contre lui le mal: Allons et exterminons-le d’entre les nations! Toi aussi, Madmen, tu seras réduite au silence, l’épée marche derrière toi.

3 Des cris partent de Horonaïm; dévastation et grande ruine!

8 Le dévastateur viendra contre toutes les villes, et pas une ville n’échappera; la vallées sera ruinée, et le plateau saccagé, comme l’a dit Yahweh.

9 Donnez des ailes à Moab, car il faut qu’il s’envole; ses villes seront dévastées, sans qu’il y ait d’habitant.

10 Maudit soit celui qui fait mollement l’œuvre du Seigneur! Maudit celui qui refuse le sang à son épée!

45 À l’ombre de Hésébon ils s’arrêtent, les fuyards à bout de forces; mais il est sorti un feu de Hésébon, et une flamme du milieu de Séhon; elle a dévoré les flancs de Moab, et le crâne des fils du tumulte.

46 Malheur à toi, Moab! Il est perdu, le peuple de Chamos; car tes fils sont emmenés en exil, et tes filles en captivité.

“Yet I will reverse the captivity of Moab in the latter days,” says the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
