Isaïe 52
1 Réveille-toi, réveille-toi, revêts ta force, Sion! Revêts tes habits de fête, Jérusalem, ville sainte! Car l’incirconcis et l’impur n’entreront plus chez toi désormais.
Awake, awake, Sion; put on your strength, O Sion; and o you put on your glory, Jerusalem the holy city: there shall no more pass through you, the uncircumcised and unclean.
2 Secoue ta poussière, relève-toi, assieds-toi, Jérusalem; détache les chaînes de ton cou, captive, fille de Sion!
Shake off the dust and arise; sit down, Jerusalem: put off the band of your neck, captive daughter of Sion.
3 Car ainsi parle Yahweh: Vous avez été vendus pour rien, et sans argent vous serez rachetés!
For thus says the Lord, You have been sold for nothing; and you shall not be ransomed with silver.
4 Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Mon peuple descendit jadis en Égypte pour y séjourner puis Assur l’opprima sans cause.
Thus says the Lord, My people went down before to Egypt to sojourn there; and were carried away forcibly to the Assyrians.
5 Et maintenant qu’ai-je à faire ici? — oracle de Yahweh, puisque mon peuple a été enlevé sans droit? Ses tyrans poussent des hurlements, — oracle de Yahweh, et sans cesse, tout le jour, mon nom est outragé.
And now why are you here? Thus says the Lord, Because my people was taken for nothing, wonder you and howl. Thus says the Lord, On account of you my name is continually blasphemed among the Gentiles.
6 C’est pourquoi mon peuple connaîtra mon nom; oui, il saura en ce jour que c’est moi qui dis: « Me voici! »
Therefore shall my people know my name in that day, for I am he that speaks: I am present,
7 Qu’ils sont beaux sur les montagnes les pieds du messager, qui publie la bonne nouvelle de la paix; de celui qui annonce le bonheur, qui publie le salut; de celui qui dit à Sion: « Ton Dieu règne! »
as a season of beauty upon the mountains, as the feet of one preaching glad tidings of peace, as one preaching good news: for I will publish your salvation, saying, O Sion, your God shall reign.
8 La voix de tes sentinelles! Elles élèvent la voix, elles poussent ensemble des cris d’allégresse, car elles voient de leurs yeux le retour de Yahweh en Sion.
For the voice of them that guard you is exalted, and with the voice together they shall rejoice: for eyes shall look to eyes, when the Lord shall have mercy upon Sion.
9 Éclatez ensemble en cris de joie, ruines de Jérusalem! Car Yahweh a consolé son peuple, il a racheté Jérusalem.
Let the waste places of Jerusalem break forth [in] joy together, because the Lord has had mercy upon her, and has delivered Jerusalem.
10 Yahweh a découvert le bras de sa sainteté, aux yeux de toutes les nations; et toutes les extrémités de la terre verront le salut de notre Dieu.
And the Lord shall reveal his holy arm in the sight of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation that [comes] from our God.
11 Partez, partez, sortez de là; ne touchez rien d’impur! Sortez du milieu d’elle; purifiez-vous; vous qui portez les vases de Yahweh.
Depart you, depart, go out from thence, and touch not the unclean thing; go you out from the midst of her; separate yourselves, you that bear the vessels of the Lord.
12 Car vous ne sortirez pas avec précipitation, et vous ne vous en irez pas en fuyant; car Yahweh marche devant vous, et le Dieu d’Israël est votre arrière garde!
For you shall not go forth with tumult, neither go by flight: for the Lord shall go first in advance of you; and the God of Israel shall be he that brings up your rear.
13 Voici que mon Serviteur prospérera; il grandira, il sera exalté, souverainement élevé.
Behold, my servant shall understand, and be exalted, and glorified exceedingly.
14 De même que beaucoup ont été dans la stupeur en le voyant, — tant il était défiguré, son aspect n’étant plus celui d’un homme, ni son visage celui des enfants des hommes, —
As many shall be amazed at you, so shall your face be without glory from men, and your glory [shall not be honored] by the sons of men.
15 ainsi il fera tressaillir des nations nombreuses. Devant lui les rois fermeront la bouche; car ils verront ce qui ne leur avait pas été raconté, et ils apprendront ce qu’ils n’avaient pas entendu.
Thus shall many nations wonder at him; and kings shall keep their mouths shut: for they to whom no report was brought concerning him, shall see; and they who have not heard, shall consider.
