Isaïe 46
1 Bel s’écroule, Nébo s’affaisse; on met leurs images sur des animaux, des bêtes de somme; ces idoles que vous portiez sont chargées, comme un fardeau pesant, sur les bêtes fatiguées.
Bel is bowed downe: Nebo is fallen: their idoles were vpon the beastes, and vpon the cattell: they which did beare you, were laden with a wearie burden.
2 Ils s’affaissent, ils s’écroulent ensemble; ils ne peuvent sauver le fardeau; ils s’en vont eux-mêmes en captivité.
They are bowed downe, and fallen together: for they coulde not rid them of the burden, and their soule is gone into captiuitie.
3 Écoutez-moi, maison de Jacob, et vous tous, reste de la maison d’Israël, vous dont je me suis chargé dès votre naissance, que j’ai portés dès le sein de votre mère.
Heare ye me, O house of Iaakob, and all that remaine of the house of Israel, which are borne of me from the wombe, and brought vp of me from the birth.
4 Jusqu’à votre vieillesse je serai le même, jusqu’à vos cheveux blancs je vous soutiendrai. Je l’ai déjà fait, et je vous porterai encore; je vous soutiendrai, je vous délivrerai.
Therefore vnto olde age, I the same, euen I will beare you vntill the hoare heares: I haue made you: I will also beare you, and I will cary you and I will deliuer you.
5 À qui me comparerez-vous, et de qui me ferez-vous l’égal? À qui m’assimilerez-vous, que nous soyons pareils?
To whom will ye make me like or make me equall, or copare me, that I should be like him?
6 Ils tirent l’or de leur bourse, et pèsent l’argent à la balance; ils engagent un fondeur afin qu’il en fasse un dieu, et ils se prosternent et adorent.
They draw gold out of the bagge and weigh siluer in the balance, and hire a goldsmith to make a god of it, and they bowe downe, and worship it.
7 Ils le portent sur l’épaule, ils le soutiennent, et vont le poser en son lieu; et il s’y tient sans bouger de sa place. Même lorsqu’on crie vers lui, il ne répond pas, il ne sauve personne de la détresse.
They beare it vpon the shoulders: they carie him and set him in his place: so doeth he stand, and cannot remoue from his place. Though one crie vnto him, yet can he not answere, nor deliuer him out of his tribulation.
8 Pensez à cela et montrez-vous hommes; rebelles, prenez-le à cœur,
Remember this, and be ashamed: bring it againe to minde, O you transgressers.
9 rappelez-vous les choses passées des jours d’autrefois. Oui, moi, je suis Dieu, et il n’y en a point d’autre;
Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none other God, and there is nothing like me,
10 je suis Dieu et nul n’est semblable à moi: moi qui, dès le commencement, annonce la fin, et, longtemps à l’avance, ce qui n’est pas encore; qui dis: « Mon dessein subsistera, et je ferai toute ma volonté; »
Which declare the last thing from the beginning: and from of olde, the things that were not done, saying, My counsell shall stand, and I will doe whatsoeuer I will.
11 qui de l’Orient appelle l’aigle, d’un pays éloigné l’homme de mon dessein. J’ai parlé, j’accomplirai; j’ai résolu, j’exécuterai!
I call a birde from the East, and the man of my counsell from farre: as I haue spoken, so will I bring it to passe: I haue purposed it, and I will doe it.
12 Écoutez-moi, hommes au cœur opiniâtre, qui êtes loin de la justice.
Heare me, ye stubburne hearted, that are farre from iustice.
13 Je fais approcher ma justice; elle n’est pas loin, et mon salut ne tardera pas; je donnerai le salut à Sion, ma gloire à Israël.
I bring neere my iustice: it shall not be farre off, and my saluation shall not tarie: for I wil giue saluation in Zion, and my glory vnto Israel.
