Isaïe 45
1 Ainsi parle Yahweh à son oint, à Cyrus, que j’ai pris par la main droite pour terrasser devant lui les nations, et pour délier la ceinture des rois, pour ouvrir devant lui les portes, afin que les entrées ne lui soient pas fermées:
Thus sayeth the Lord vnto Cyrus his anointed, whose right hand I haue holden to subdue nations before him: therefore will I weaken the loynes of Kings and open the doores before him, and the gates shall not be shut:
2 Moi, je marcherai devant toi; j’aplanirai les chemins montueux; je romprai les portes d’airain, et je briserai les verrous de fer.
I will goe before thee and make the crooked streight: I will breake the brasen doores, and burst the yron barres.
3 Je te donnerai les trésors cachés, et les richesses enfouies, afin que tu saches que je suis Yahweh, le Dieu d’Israël, qui t’ai appelé par ton nom.
And I will giue thee the treasures of darkenesse, and the things hid in secret places, that thou maist know that I am the Lord which call thee by thy name, euen the God of Israel.
4 À cause de Jacob, mon serviteur, et d’Israël, mon élu, je t’ai appelé par ton nom; je t’ai désigné quand tu ne me connaissais pas.
For Iaakob my seruants sake, and Israel mine elect, I will euen call thee by thy name and name thee, though thou hast not knowen me.
5 Je suis Yahweh, et il n’y en a point d’autre; hors moi, il n’y a point de Dieu! Je t’ai ceint quand tu ne me connaissais pas,
I am the Lord and there is none other: there is no God besides me: I girded thee though thou hast not knowen me,
6 afin que l’on sache, du levant au couchant, qu’il n’y a rien en dehors de moi! Je suis Yahweh, et il n’y en a point d’autre;
That they may knowe from the rising of the sunne and from the West, that there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is none other.
7 je forme la lumière et crée les ténèbres, je fais la paix et je crée le malheur: c’est moi Yahweh qui fais tout cela.
I forme the light and create darkenes: I make peace and create euill: I the Lord doe all these things.
8 Cieux, répandez d’en haut votre rosée, et que les nuées fassent pleuvoir la justice! Que la terre s’ouvre et produise le salut, qu’elle fasse germer la justice en même temps! Moi! Yahweh, je crée ces choses.
Ye heauens, send the dewe from aboue, and let the cloudes droppe downe righteousnesse: let the earth open, and let saluation and iustice growe foorth: let it bring them foorth together: I the Lord haue created him.
9 Malheur à qui conteste avec celui qui l’a formé, vase parmi des vases de terre! L’argile dira-t-elle à celui qui la façonne: « Que fais-tu? » Ton œuvre dira-t-elle: « Il n’a pas de mains? »
Woe be vnto him that striueth with his maker, the potsherd with the potsherds of the earth: shall the clay say to him that facioneth it, What makest thou? or thy worke, It hath none hands?
10 Malheur à qui dit à un père: « Pourquoi engendres-tu? » Et à une femme: « Pourquoi mets-tu au monde? »
Woe vnto him that sayeth to his father, What hast thou begotten? or to his mother, What hast thou brought foorth?
11 Ainsi parle Yahweh, le Saint d’Israël et celui qui l’a formé: « Oserez-vous m’interroger sur l’avenir, me commander au sujet de mes enfants et de l’œuvre de mes mains?
Thus saith the Lord, the holy one of Israel, and his maker, Aske me of things to come concerning my sonnes, and concerning the workes of mine hands: commande you me.
12 C’est moi qui ai fait la terre, et qui sur elle ai créé l’homme; c’est moi dont les mains ont déployé les cieux, moi qui commande à toute leur armée.
I haue made the earth, and created man vpon it: I, whose hands haue spred out the heauens, I haue euen commanded all their armie.
13 C’est moi qui l’ai suscité dans ma justice, et j’aplanis toutes ses voies. C’est lui qui rebâtira ma ville, et renverra mes captifs, sans rançon ni présents, dit Yahweh des armées.
I haue raised him vp in righteousnesse, and I will direct all his wayes: he shall build my citie, and he shall let goe my captiues, not for price nor rewarde, saith the Lord of hostes.
14 Ainsi parle Yahweh: Les gains de l’Égypte et les profits de l’Éthiopie, et les Sabéens à la haute stature viendront à toi et seront à toi, ils marcheront à ta suite; ils passeront enchaînés, et se prosterneront devant toi; ils te diront en suppliant: « Il n’y a de Dieu que chez toi, et il n’y en a point d’autre, nul autre Dieu absolument! »
Thus sayth the Lord, The labour of Egypt, and the marchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of stature shall come vnto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall follow thee, and shall goe in chaines: they shall fall downe before thee, and make supplication vnto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee, and there is none other God besides.
15 En vérité, vous êtes un Dieu caché, Dieu d’Israël, ô Sauveur!
Verely thou, O God, hidest thy selfe, O God, the Sauiour of Israel.
16 Ils sont tous honteux et confus, ils s’en vont confus, les fabricateurs d’idoles.
All they shalbe ashamed and also confounded: they shall goe to confusion together, that are the makers of images.
17 Israël est sauvé par Yahweh d’un salut éternel; vous n’aurez ni honte ni confusion dans les siècles à venir.
But Israel shall be saued in the Lord, with an euerlasting saluation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded worlde without ende.
18 Car ainsi parle Yahweh, qui a créé les cieux, lui, le Dieu qui a formé la terre, qui l’a achevée et affermie, qui n’en a pas fait un chaos, mais l’a formée pour être habitée: Je suis Yahweh, et il n’y en a point d’autre!
For thus saith the Lord (that created heauen, God himselfe, that formed the earth, and made it: he that prepared it, he created it not in vaine: he formed it to be inhabited) I am the Lord, and there is none other.
19 Je n’ai point parlé en cachette, dans un lieu obscur de la terre. Je n’ai point dit à la race de Jacob: « Cherchez-moi vainement! » Moi, Yahweh, je dis ce qui est juste, j’annonce la vérité.
I haue not spoken in secrete, neither in a place of darkenes in the earth: I saide not in vaine vnto the seede of Iaakob, Seeke you me: I the Lord doe speake righteousnesse, and declare righteous things.
20 Assemblez-vous et venez; approchez ensemble, réchappés des nations. Ils ne savent rien, ceux qui portent leur idole de bois, et invoquent un dieu qui ne sauve pas.
Assemble your selues, and come: drawe neere together, ye abiect of the Gentiles: they haue no knowledge, that set vp the wood of their idole, and pray vnto a god, that cannot saue them.
21 Appelez-les, faites-les approcher, et qu’ils se consultent ensemble! Qui a fait entendre ces choses dès le commencement, et depuis longtemps les a annoncées? N’est-ce pas moi, Yahweh? Et il n’y a pas de Dieu en dehors de moi; Moi, le Dieu juste, et il n’y a pas d’autre sauveur que moi.
Tell ye and bring them, and let them take counsell together, who hath declared this from the beginning? or hath tolde it of olde? Haue not I the Lord? and there is none other God beside me, a iust God, and a Sauiour: there is none beside me.
22 Tournez-vous vers moi, et vous serez sauvés, vous tous habitants de la terre, car je suis Dieu, et il n’y en a point d’autre.
Looke vnto me, and ye shall be saued: all the endes of the earth shall be saued: for I am God, and there is none other.
23 Je l’ai juré par moi-même; de ma bouche sort la vérité, une parole qui ne sera pas révoquée: Tout genou fléchira devant moi, toute langue me prêtera serment.
I haue sworne by my selfe: the worde is gone out of my mouth in righteousnesse, and shall not returne, That euery knee shall bowe vnto me, and euery tongue shall sweare by me.
24 « En Yahweh seul, dira-t-on de moi, résident la justice et la force! » On viendra à lui; mais ils seront confondus, tous ceux qui étaient enflammés contre lui.
Surely he shall say, In the Lord haue I righteousnesse and strength: he shall come vnto him, and all that prouoke him, shall be ashamed.
25 En Yahweh sera justifiée et sera glorifiée toute la race d’Israël.
The whole seede of Israel shall be iustified, and glorie in the Lord.
